Damn, Mike D'Antoni's an ass. I doubt such a fun loving guy would say something like that in real life though.
It is kind of true for New Jersey though. Their bench is like a used diaper filled with Indian food. You'll need to give yourself an upgrade in that department.
Wed Aug 01, 2007 5:54 am
Its_asdf, yeah, thats why I made the story, because people do think that New Jersey are a three man team and that they have no bench. And no, D'Antoni's a decent guy - I doubt he would say that in real life! lol
thanks for the comment

First off; nice deal. You totally ripped off the Pistons, but it wasn't a huge earth shattering trade, which makes it somewhat realistic.
Secondly, the recaps and presentation are still top-notch. Definitely one of the elite dynasties in that regard.
Lastly, the feud with D'Antoni was very innovative and believable IMO.
Keep this up; it is easily one of the best dynasties out there.

at trading Jason Collins for something actually prodcutive. You make Nets fans proud.
I like Antoine Wright though, its a shame you couldn't develop him more.

.......:::::::Question Time::::::::........ with Vince Carter
Hosted By Kevin Cadle
Hey Vince
'Sup Kevin
Who is the funniest guy on the team?
Most entertaining? Errrrr, probably Richard. He gets everyone in a good mood, just all the little things. He knows when and how to have fun, so yeah probably Rich.
Who has the worst dress sense?
Oh god haha! Theres a few of them that dress a little funny but Im gonna have to go with Jamaal. He came into practise yesterday looking like 50 cent!
Who has the best dress sense?
Its either between Nenad or Jason. Probably Jason, he is just really casual and doesn't go over the top!
Who has the worst taste in music?
Gotta be Bostjan! I was in his car bout a week ago and I had to turn his stereo player off! I'm not sure what it was and I don't ever wanna find out!
Who is the hardest worker?
Jason, first one in the gym, last one out the gym. He won't leave the court until he gets something right and with that kind of commitment its no wonder he is one of the best guys to ever play the game, certainly at his position.
Who is the longest in the showers?
Rich definently. He is young and naive! Haha!
Who is the strongest guy on the team?
J-Max. I mean, I've only been with him for like five days, but he is built like a brick wall. I'm glad he is on my team!
Who do you admire most on the team?
Jason and Mikki, even though he has moved on now. I mean, for a guy to buy out his own college basketball contract when nobody knew who he was and making the most of it, you have to a very strong and confident person to do that.
Realistically, where do you think you can get with New Jerey this season?
Conference Finals
Who has the best car?
What apart from me? Haha! Eerrrrrr JK's got a hummer, thats pretty sweet but Antonio's Lambo is takin' the bait for me!
Thanks Vince and good luck in the season.
Thanks Man.

Jason Kidd Leads Nets To Victory Over Arenas' Wizards
85-73
As the chants of "MVP" rang around the Continental Airlines Arena Jason Kidd stepped up to the free throw line to knock down the last shots of the game. Kidd was a real leader in last nights game and showed why he is one of the best Point-Guards in NBA history. Kidd posted 28 points, 7 assists and 8 steal. "Tonight was my best game of the season so far." Comments Kidd, "I was just focusing on winning the game and luckily, I had the hot hand tonight. It was a great team performance."
Kidd was unstoppable; twisting and turning his way into impossible looking layups and fadeaway jump shots in Gilbert Arenas' face. Arenas did his best to pull the visiting Wizards back by scoring 21 points, but his team couldn't connect on defense leading to easy fast break points for New Jersey.
Richard Jefferson posed one of the dunks of the season with an alley-oop to himself finished up with a windmill on the fast break. On the way back on defense, he pointed and smiled at Vince Carter, who laughed back.
Antonio McDyess had another good game with 10 points, 3 rebounds and 2 blocks whist Nenad Krstic saw his first action of the 2007/08 season. He got 7 points and 5 rebounds to add to New Jersey's win. Can anyone stop the rolling Nets?
Player Of The Game - Jason Kidd - 28pts, 7assists, 8stls

Jason Kidd - MVP? : Gilbert Arenas - just not enough

Davis, Warriors Edge Nets Despite Late Scare
99-96
Baron Davis demonstrated how he could contend with the NBA's elite last night as he scored an astonishing 54 points to help the Golden State Warriors edge the travelling New Jersey Nets by three points. Jason Kidd was the Nets highest scorer with 41 points of his own. "Baron was too good tonight" Says Kidd, "Some of the shots he made were unbelievable and that was the coaches words at half-time - double up on Davis! But he bought his A game tonight and they deserved the win."
The two point guards definently took the game to each other and the fans were given a mesmerising show, with the veterans fighting it out on the court. Vince Carter was pretty ineffective, he scored 16 points and got 2 rebounds. Even more dissapointing for New Jersey was Jamaal Magloire - who, although pulled down 4 rebounds and blocked 2 shots, failed to score a single point. Maxiell came off the bench and slammed home two dunks but that was as far as the new Power-Forward got. Andres Biedrins did well on defense, with 7 rebounds and 5 blocked shots, whilst rookie Brandn Wright only scored 8 points and 2 rebounds. "Yeah it was a good game for me" Davis, "But what was more important was that the team won, and the fans went home happy." The New Jersey Nets 5-0 run ended in Golden State, but with the rivalry game against the Phoenix Suns edging ever closer, you feel that it won't be too long before they get back into their flow.
Player Of The Game - Baron Davis - 54pts, 6assts, 3stls

Just out of reach for the Nets : Stephen Jackson hypes up the home crowd

tough loss to GSW but at 8-2, Nets seem on the way to good things
Fri Aug 03, 2007 3:22 am
54 points

wow!!
Fri Aug 03, 2007 6:34 am
BoomDizzle#5, yeah Davis was just unstoppable to be honest! Some of Kidd's layups were lucky and he got sent to the free throw line alot which helped him on the way to 41. Thanks for the comment
23 LeBron, Yup, couldn't handle him, simple as that! I thought the task would be easier being as J-Rich has gone to Charlotte, obviously not! lol
Thanks For The Comments, Please stay tuned

Nets Loose Another Close Game As Mike Bibby Puts On A Show
100-96
For the New Jersey Nets, tonights game was a loss in which alot of plus points could be taken. For example, Antonio McDyess did an excellent job on the glass wit 9 rebounds, 4 blocks and 16 points. Jamaal Magloire also performed well, shooting 100% from the floor. Jason Kidd got 28 points but the Sacramento Kings' Mike Bibby from Arizona grabbed the headlines with 39 points and 5 assists. Bibby got going early shooting three consecutive 3 pointers to get the home team off to a 6-0 start and never looked back. Nenad Krstic and Jason Maxiell got a chance to play together but Bibby caused havoc all over the court all night for the Nets. "Yeah it was a good game for me and the fans tonight" Says Bibby "New Jersey are one of the top teams at the moment and we have just as high expectations as they have for the season, and we showed we are very capable of achieveing them with tonight's performance."
Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson scored 39 points between them but couldn't provide for the final push, Carter missed two relatively easy layups whilst the pressure seemed to get to young Jefferson as he didnt make one single cut into the lane at all in the last 2 minutes. Still, New Jersey's next game is the crunch. Phoenix Suns. Can the Nets make Mike D'Antoni eat his words? Find out tonight!
Player Of The Game - Mike Bibby - 39pts, 5assts, 3stls

Next up for Kidd and the Nets - Phoenix : Ron Artest shot 83% from 3 point land to seal up the win

"Three-Man" New Jersey Clinch Victory, Frank & D'Antoni Avoid Shaking Hands
93-97
The New Jersey Nets won what is probably going to be their most precious victory all season. After Mike D'Antoni's harsh comments about the team, the Nets piled on high point man, Vince Carter, showing just how much the win meant to everyone in the Nets organisation. "It feels great!" Lawrence Frank "Probably my best feeling as a coach so far in my career. The guys took D'Antoni's comments very seriously and were so focused and hyped up coming in here tonight, I hope this will let the whole of the NBA know that we are no push-overs."
Vince Carter scored 37 points to secure the win and kept his head at the free-throw line in the tense final minute of the game. Jason Kidd scored 31 points and looked good all night. But, perhaps the biggest victory was Antonio McDyess and Jamaal Magloire's perfomances. After D'Antoni said "they would be the most inefficient big men in the league this season", McDyess got 13 rebounds and 8 points whilst Jamaal Magloire blocked 3 shots, had an assist, pulled down 6 rebounds and scored 5 points. "I don't think I have ever wanted to win so bad" Says Magloire, "I am a very tenacious person and when Mike made those comments in his press conference I made a vow to put every drop of blood, sweat and tears into this game."
Shawn Marion and Steve Nash got 31 points each whilt Amare Stoudemire swatted away 6 shots. Leandro Barbosa - last year' 6th Man Of The Season was dissapoitning with just 2 points and 2 assists. But off the court there was also a battle. Mike D'Antoni and Lawrence Frank were out on the sidelines screaming instructions to their players knowing that their personal pride was on the line as well as their players'. When the final buzzer went, D'Antoni and Frank clearly had no intention of shaking hands as Frank ran onto the court punching the air and D'Antoni immediately dissapeared down the tunnel with his players. One has to feel that the next time the two teams meet, the battle will be just as intense. Last night, New Jersey won the battle; but have they won the war?
Player Of The Game - Vince Carter - 37pts, 2stls, 10/10 FT, 50 FG%

A tough loss for the Suns : Jason Kidd - "Loosing never crossed my mind."

New Jersey Coasts Past Lakers To Make it 10-3
Nets 95-75 Lakers
New Jersey traveled to the west coast, destined for the Staples Arena, to face the so far, dissapointing Los Angeles Lakers. With a 2-9 start to the 07/08 season, LA have struggled at home and the two wins came away at minnesota and seattle. Last weeks home game hosted the lowest crowd number to attend a Lakers game for 7 years. The poor string of performances didn't bode well for Phil Jackson and his team when hosting the New Jersey Nets, who have struck a 9-3 winning formula, largely down to the dynamic trio of Jefferson, Kidd and Carter. The first quarter however, belonged to the home team. With Kwame Brown slamming the boards on both the offensive and defensive ends, LA were able to take a 6 point lead early on and made the scored 43-39 at the end of the first half. New Jersey came out blaziong though, with quick steals from Kidd and solid defense, New Jersey were able to restore a lead they had missed since the first quarter. Vinsanity struck yet again this season in the fourth quarter to tie up the game, Carter finished up with 39 points. Kobe Bryant managed to hit seemingly impossible shots but it wasn't enough to bring his team back, KB8 posted 43 points. Signed from Detroit earlier on in the season, McDyess grabbed 14 rebounds to help lead the visitors to victory.
Player Of The Game - Vince Carter - 39pts, 4rebs, 3assts

The dissapointing start goes on for Bryant and Jackson...

Kidd Explodes In The Fourth Quarter To Clinch Nuggets Thriller
Nuggets 95-100 Nets
New Jersey increased their record to 11-3 earlier today when they traveled to Denver Colorado, to face the Nuggets. Iverson and Anthony have been wreaking havoc all season amongst team defences, however, McDyess and Krstic held strong and forced alot of outside shots. Magloire had to be bought off early due to foul trouble, and Nenad Krstic, who hasnt seen much action this season had a pint to prove. He finished up with 3 blocks, 6 points and 6 rebounds. Camby got going early to put the Nets on the back foot. Anthony owned the second quarter, and the teams went in at half-time with Denver holding a comfortale 13 point lead. New Jersey stepped up their 'D' in the 3rd quarter, with Jason Kidd ripping the ball four times. Carter and Jefferson combined to bring the lead down to seven and the home crowd were starting to get a little anxious. Iverson continually raced through the lanes for the buckets, but Denver's defence couldn't handle Kidd's penetration and the lead was just 3 points going into the final quarter.
But JK5 saved his best till last. Just five minutes into the fourth quarter, he single handedly gave New Jersey a 3 point lead with two three point plays. Anthony hit wide-open shots to narrow the gap, but Kidd was secure at the charity stripe to secure the win.
Player Of The Game - Jason Kidd - 31pts, 6stls, 9assts
Although both put in solid performances, Iverson and Anthony could only watch as Kidd shot the clutch free-throws
Mon Dec 10, 2007 6:05 pm
Man! this is a good one.. nice recaps and presentation.. And the Nets is also one of my favorite teams. And good to see Kidd doing great things.
