The Italian Team have just finished their first traing: it was an athletics training.
"The Guys worked really hard and they put a lot of effort" said the trainer
Luigini Sepulcri. The Old guys like Galanda, Marconato and Basile seem to have embraced the young guys like Bargnani, Hackett and Gallinari.
During the training session the players had some laughs and the team chemestry seem groving up.
Now here some photos of the practice that show what the guys have made:

That bottom left picture is epitemy of gay.

BTW who made those practice jerseys, if its you, then you can do better. If it isn't you, then they suck.

Welcome to the "Pentagono (Bormio)" for the
second traing of the Italian National Team

In the second training Coach Recalcati talked to every player on his roster to get the general idea
on what could they do at the European Championship. Charlie set the score high as he wants to get
the first 8 team at least. He talked with Andrea Bargnani and with Belinelli saying that he wants a
team and not 2 or 3 players, but sometimes they should step up in a game and take controll of the team.
Charlie Recalcati set the training with this feature: at the beginning the players had some iundividual
excercises like shooting, dunking and ball handling; then they had some 1 on 1 and they finished with
some 5 on 5: tehy tried some offensive and defensive movements. Tomorrow the Italian team
will face the Ltavian one in a friendly match before flying to Athens for the Acropolis Tournamet.

Now thats what I am talking about, real "game" action instead of just players running around making the pictures look empty. (Y)

Fri Aug 24, 2007 5:05 am

How long are you planning on doing this?

I'm not fairly familiar with international play so it'll be nice learn a little about the Italian team.

Fri Aug 24, 2007 5:59 am

damn! still can't get over how clean/real everything looks; anyway, looking forward to seeing team Italia play - rack it up with Belinelli for me ;)

Italy - 66
Latvia - 48
(Boxscores)

Game recap: The Italian Team hosted the Latvian one for a friendly game here In Bormio; After
a lot of days of tough preparation and strong training, the Italian Team showed great basketball and
they blow out the Latvia. 66 to 48 is the only interesting number, over a lot of experiments trying to
find the perfect starting lineup.
BELINELLI SHOW From the first moment of the game this is and Italy that want to amaze; Belinelli showed
a lot of move (maybe learned during the Summer League) like some fantastic dunks or easy 3-pointer. His
percentage are high as he finished with 14 points (5-7 from the field and 2-4 from the three point line).
CLOSED IN THE SECOND The Latvian Team couldn't resist too much vs this Italy: only Biedrins
was dangerous. In fact the game was almost closed in the second quarter with a big and strong Bargnani,
a great Belinelli and a good Basile. Now the Italian Team will fly to Athens to compete in the Acropolis
Tournament: there will be Greece, Italy and the other two team still to define.

I love how your scores are pretty realistic, considering you really turned down the quarter length. Nice screens and video also. Good luck in Athens (Y)
