First video of the game.

Latest screen shots can be found there.

So what do you guys think? Playing football with a bunch of legends instead of current NFLers.
Opinions are my own.

 Wow.. It looks good. 2K has always made some pretty good football games, hopefully this one is even better. Reminds me somewhat of Blitz, but I'd definately get this... assuming I have next-gen of course. Or I could just make you get it Jao and scrub off you.

I wish they would do this with basketball, I would buy it 1000%.
Imagine having all your legends in their teams. Having something like an all-time Lakers, all-time Celtics, or all-time Bulls team facing off.

Does this mean that 2K sports had to get the individual licenses of each and every one of these players?

I doubt they have rights to the NFL player's association (since ESPN has rights to NFL) or something like an NFL reitred player's association.

I wonder how they'll make the teams for this game too. Are they just going to go with an all-time some team lineup?

Does that mean that getting licenses for legends is actually cheaper than we all think? Or are sports league licenses so expensive it might be cheaper just to get hundreds of individual licenses? (240 for this game.)
I wonder...
Bored.

Since this is out...I'll just use this thread:
EA CEO John Riccitiello stated during the same shareholder call where he said Godfather 2 was in production, that EA needs to make sure that 2K's All-Pro Football 2K8 is "not repeatable." Riccitiello specifically pointed out 2K Sports re-emerged football franchise which has been missing since EA purchased exclusive rights to the NFL and current players in 2004.

Riccitiello specifically says that Take-Two is a "competitor" and when they launch a football game "you want to make sure that [it] ends up being a blip and is not repeatable, because we like to defend our franchises aggressively."

EA is scared that 2K is getting their game ready for 2009 when the exclusive deal (that the NFL now regrets apparently) expires.

For Bang, more on how they got all the players: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/st ... uby/070712

1. yes they had to get a license for each player which is why some players are still missing from the game. for instance bo jackson was said to want way to much money and other players just were not reachable. lol lynn(sp?) swann(sp? again..) is not in the game cause his political advisor suggested it was a bad idea

2. i am unsure how they will make the team. my guess is it will be like a draft where every time you start a new game you draft players? might be wrong there but it how i would want it to be. also have the option of saving teams.

3. this one is my own thought/question. will they have bench players in this game or will there be no fatique, no injuries, and you only got the starters. question is, how many players are in the nfl today? each team has 22 starters plus a kick and a punter so they either skipped the benches or made alot less teams.

You can only pick a certain number of legends, then it's filled with generic players.

You're on the internets, use the tubes!

How did NFL regret the deal with EA? Do you have any source for that, I am actually interested in NFL regretting their move to go Exclusive with EA after the premium price EA paid them.

And look at how EA is bitching now, they want to probably try to extend their Exclusive or some other move as their CEO stated. This is EA my friends, they run their mouth with their money, but they cannot back their words through customer service (ex, Madden being practically same every year, NBA Live just look at the last 3 years)

EA is pathetic and does a great job on marketing and brainwashing the consumers.
"live by the 3, die by the 3"

Dontello regarding Live 07: "this year's real new feature was 'freestyle customer service"

I'd like to see a licensed football game by 2K again. Madden over the last two years hasn't been exactly ground-breaking.

I haven't checked AP 2K8 yet.
