Is it me, or do all the players look super skinny, especially their legs?

Proportions are way off. Look how big the ball is compared to Dirk's head, it looks smaller then a girls ball. That yellow light on the Wizards jersey looks like crap. It's probably a court reflection or something, but it really washes out the jersey, especially in the Arenas pics.

What is with these sunk in demon eyes? All dark and shit, mostly noticeable on darker players.

it looks like white jerseys are made of overly self-illuminated material (bloom 2.0?).. it just too bright. dunno why would they focus the lighting more on players than surrounding objects, it feels like playing in a gloomy 'boxing' arena where all spotlights are just pointing at players.

so weird.. Nash's jersey lit stronger than his team-mates too.

i wonder if the cloth animation is now done in real-time or still 'scripted' physics.

If they can't even make a realistic/decent player model, let's forget about realistic gameplay.

yeah I know MSG and STAPLES being darkened in the audience area..

but IGN's screens make it look like all the arenas have darkened crowds

Or it could mean they are focusing on gameplay and other features rather than the graphics. I'm not saying NBA Live 08 will definitely be the game we want it to be because I don't know that, but the quality of the graphics isn't a reflection on the feasibility of the AI and other gameplay elements living up to our expectations.

^^^this is going to be crap and you know it , i dont get why you defend it so much. it's been crap for years and will be probably for years. its the same each year they put out a work in progress video everyone says they like what they see and that they cant wait to see the final product and then the final product ends up looking exactly like the work in progress video.

Imo they need to completely fire the whole team who makes this game its ridiculous a bunch of university educated game developers cant put out a decent game without bugs after years at it. its not as if the technology is holding them back anymore from making what they want graphics and gameplay wise. I think he's saying that once they change the player models and make it look better, the game will be tight!! While in some ways, this may be true, but as long as EA focuses on the GAMEPLAY and "perfect" it and have a CORE engine for next gen on how they think the game should play. . .They have something concrete to work with for years to come and when they change the player models to make them more "realistic, it won't affect the gameplay much. . .makes sense?

No, I don't know that for sure. I'll have a better idea next week of course. I'm not saying it will be a great game and I'm certainly not suggesting previous instalments were perfect. But I do feel that bashing the gameplay based on a few screenshots is jumping the gun a little. NBA Live 2005 is usually considered one of the high points of the series in recent years but when the preview media came out it was panned.
