espn nba2k4 presentation will be like espn football

Postby sho89mtx on Wed Sep 17, 2003 8:03 am

did you guys see the screenshots of espn nba2k4 over at operation sports yet? They are going to incorporate the espn tv style feel in it during the game which makes espn football look so realistic and fun to play. It feels like your watching a real game on tv. Especially on my 55" HDTV. I can't wait for this year! The basketball games are gonna be awesome. From live have licended shoes and a new pro-hop and a bunch of other goodies, to espn baskebtall having the tv style presentation. this year is gonna rock for sports games! I love it. I just hope someone up there games to 720i or 1081i so it would look even better

First person mode is bad though so i wont get my hands on any of sega's ESPN games....i heard First Person Mode causes you to Black Out and staart acting Strange to where you forget what happened.....for ESPN Football you become Blacked out and start Acting like a Football Player....i'm not sure if its true but i want to play ESPN Football and ESPN Basketball but i'm afraid of doing so

I don't think the entire game is in first person.

Blackouts

Postby Larry Bird on Wed Sep 17, 2003 10:33 am

First off, First Person is an option. You don't ever have to see the game in first person mode. Second, the black out thing was some stupid rumor started by some Madden-lover to scare people away from ESPN 2K (which apparently has worked, at least in one case). There are no blackouts. I have the game, have yet to black out. I know many others who have the game.... no blackouts.

Plus, I don't think that NBA is going to have first person mode.

damn, that commentary is really impressive. and also the game storyline and nightly wrapups, this adds so much to the atmosphere of the game. now i feel really bad this game won´t be out for pc.

on the other hand i haven´t heard the commentary from live, and i also haven´t seen too many pics of the season/dynasty screens yet. i hope ea has us in for some nice surprises :)

Thats bad ... I think the ESPN 2k-Series could really have a chance at threatning NBA Live if there would be a PC Version, cause it looks really great.

Anybody knows why there is no PC Version?

I think because sega doesnt wanna concentrate on pc. Just other consoles. That maybe why they quit making consoles and the dreamcast(1 of my favs). I think they mainly want to sell for what people have more. Although almost everyone has pc's alot of people have gaming consoles since ethat seams to be the latest installation in the 'gaming age'.

Mainly, I guess they want to keep up with the 'fads'.

Oh yeah, why is this topic in NBA Live 2004 general issues? There's already a thread in other games.

Marv Albert should be good. Nothing like what I just heard from the ESPN basketball video, though.

that's awsome  great storyline...although they shouldn't put Tom Tolbert as their commentator...maybe Tim Hardaway  or Marion ..No i'd hate Tom Tolbert as the commentator...but the game looks great TV wise...and smooth too...(y)..if they release this for PC...u know EA Sports is in trouble...

i told yall u were sleeping in espn basketball...it will be the greatest basketball game ever..mark my words...and some of you havnt read the new press release of the iso-motion stuff....its like freestyle control but deeper..its for defense and offense...check that out....im converting to espn this year for good (actually i was already converted last year...but this year i think espn is REALLY gonna blow out live)...sorry to say that i know this is a live board but i gotta call a spade a spade...i really dont see how live can match up...

not to mention....the new "24/7" mode in espn...where you can train a player by doin drills and travel across the world playing one on one, 2 on 2, and 3 on 3 games to earn stuff.....

If sega would put it out earlier then they would have a headstart in sales.

see thats the thing. there are A LOT of gamers out there who can't get their hands on espn cause they don't have a console, and so they get pc version of live, which is better for live. :)

Well VC is losing big time so hopefully they'll try to put it on the PC. Madden always kicks there football games in sales, and as awesome as 2k series is--Live always sells more. Sega stopped making there sports games for the GC as well.--Releasing there game a week later than EA is just not good business for them either. The sad reality, they make good games but poor business decisions.

it will be the greatest basketball game ever..mark my words

yeah sure, and you are who again?

I just downloaded the two videos... The game looks awesome, I'd certainly buy it if it would be released for PC.
