The scenario system is trully very interesting, can't wait to see gameplay videos and see what they've done already...(especially the collisions between players)

I dont even read these things, its all blah blah blah to me. I want pics and vids before i get excited for this game cause last year we got this blog stuff and well, we know what happened with the game.
Opinions are my own.

Scenario system, sounds exactly like the matrix-blocking effect in Lives 05, 06 and 07. I don't buy it. And in-air collisions? They hyped it for 2004 and we remember what that became. I don't want to be (too) sceptic but come on, we hear these promises every f'n year.

Anyone who takes their word at face value must be out of their mind. I'm cautiously optimistic but not holding my breath. Time is fast approaching where EA either has to man up to keep pace with 2k or be reduced to a permanent 2nd fiddle status. Talk is BEYOND CHEAP! Those same guys (producers) better not be blogging at the expense of the work they better be doing.

People hype up 2k way too much, that game is good, but it has so many flaws in it. . .If all this stuff is true what EA is saying, they have a chance to surpass 2k in the gameplay department. I been playing 2K all year so I know what Im talking about

I don't care who makes the better game, I just want some company to get it right the first time...I'm a live fan and I'm gunning for them this year, but who knows until we play em all...I just don't think "getting back to basics gameplay" is going to win me over unless the gameplay is superior over 2k's which is highly unlikely this year...

Updated...

Sounds really good about the AI, but for some reason I really doubt that it's goin' to be so succesful...

But there also needs to be a balance between making the AI realistic and making it fun

will they ever understand that the real game of basketball is fun?

this was a valid excuse for not getting the game to emulate the real-life-on- court-experience the way it should 10 years ago. one would have thought that after they got busted last year, they would stop using the "fun" word.

A couple of points catching my attention...1. I get the feeling that these two on two scenarios this year will replace point guard domination of 07. Box score: Yao and T-Mac 70pts, other players 20pts....What ever happened to primacy and its relation to shot distribution (featured_scorer sounds like a step back 2. I am afraid of this auto screen setting feature is going to ruin the "flow" of any game. Ex. When you take control of your pg (tony p) and you are at the top of the key, the cpu is going to try to set you a screen (duncan), what if you wanted to try to take your man off the dribble in an iso? We have to cancel the screen, run a quick play and hope our screener gets out of the way for our pg to get to the hole? I can see a big mess coming.... 3. Plays designed for only one position on the court don't take into account the ever changing style of positions. Some pg are distributors some are scorers, why create a 3pt play for pg if you don't have one? You should be able to change the play to your personnel. More later...

i think i'd prefer that. 35 point games by yao and mcgrady are less rare than rafer alston getting 3 times as many shots as yao every game.

"when you have multiple players on a team who are capable of being featured scorers which is the case for a team such as the San Antonio Spurs. Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan are all capable of shouldering the load offensively. In this case each player is assigned a percentage of possessions where the offense is run through them. When the AI is evaluating the goal of a given possession they take this into consideration and run their offense accordingly."

I'm wondering if the cpu forces shots for players who normally take a lot of shots, but the user configures their defence to try and shut down certain players...Ex..You double team Lebron, will he keep shooting? or pass it out. Based on his percentage of possessions, what will happen?

" The tempo design is dynamic in the sense that if you take Steve Nash off of the Phoenix Suns or Tim Duncan off of the San Antonio Spurs their team’s style will drastically change."

So what happens if you trade for Steve Nash on the Spurs? Will the computer play intermediate, knowing TD likes half court offense and SN likes fast play? How does the computer decide tempo when you're in your dynasty 10 years into it and no current players exist?

I was going to point out the same thing. This is exactly why I lack hope.
