As many expected the two game Draft06 exhibition series was a close fought affair with the two teams splitting the series a game a piece.

Game 1 was a fast paced run and gun affair with both teams scoring well above 100 points,
and baskets coming fast and often, it was obvious that the players used this game to show off the offensive and athletic abilities.
Game 2 saw the coaches take a bigger role with more sets being run on the offensive end,
while on the defensive end the players gave a far more concerted effort resulting in some spectacular defensive plays.

    Game 1:

In the Draft06 Home game for Miami the home team got a boost from their rowdy crowd
to out score the Orlando Draft06 41-31 set by draftees Branch and Aldridge dominating
in the low post.Defense led by fast breaks was the key to their quick start.

In the 2nd quarter Orlando stepped up its game with Roy and Morrison leading the way
for the Orlando Draft squad outscoring the home team by 11 pts in the 2nd.

The 3rd Quarter was a far closer affair but Orlando increased their halftime lead of
1pt to 5 pts at the end of the 3rd led by Bargnan's and Thomas's defense and rebounding
with Roy and Gay stepped up their offensive assualt.

Pat Riley must of said some stern words during the break to wake the home team up as they
rallied in to win in a tough 4th quarter with Foye and Parker finding their range with the
assists from Branch. The Heat Draftees broke the Orlando's teams spirits with their hot
finish to win by 5 points.

Ben Branch was the Jordan Brand Player of the Game with 21pts 12asts & 8rbds.

After suffering a close loss in the first game of the series the Magic side was looking to make amends in game 2.
Firing on all cylinders from the tip off the Magic pushed out a handy 26-18 lead after one quarter.
Compared to the previous game this one was not producing nearly as many highlights,
looking more like an intensly fought playoff game due the intense defense being played by both teams.

The Magic side maintained thier lead through out the second quarter, but they were by no means dominating their opponents
with the Heat playing equally as well, and the Magic only getting extra buckets from the hustle
and athleticsm of forwards Tyrus Thomas and Paul Millsap.
Rudy Gay was the main contributor on the offenseive end for the Magic with 19 points by the half.

    Image
Tyrus Thomas was a beast in the paint for the Magic side during the first half

The third quarter saw a slight lapse in the defensive intensity for both teams,
however Miami were the ones to capitalise on the extra offensive opportunities managing to cut into Orlando's lead.
LaMarucs Aldridge had a field day in the paint completely exposing the defensive weaknesses
in the Magic sides frontcourt with 10 points and 10 rebounds along with 3 blocks in the 3rd.

Any hope that the Miami team was feeling coming into the fouth quarter was quickly dashed as the
Orlando side quickly ran their lead up to 15 points within the first 3 minutes of the quarter.
Rudy Gay's hot shooting came to an end, but Adam Morrison and Andrea Bargnani quickly picked up the load
with Morrison scoring 10 of his 19 in the final spell and Bargnani nailing all 3 of his shots from downtown during the fourth.
With 2 minutes left in the game any hope of a close finish was gone with Orlando holding a 18 point lead.

Rudy Gay was named player of the game with 33 points 5 assists and 5 rebounds.

I am glad to see this go ahead. Great idea about the 06 draft teams, it turned out really well (Y) and the recap of the games was good.

I can tell this will get a lot better as it progresses....

we will be making a post soon about NLSCers, but it will be a prediction type challenge like I had in my Pistons dynasty last year, we will be changing it up a bit and you should be seeing about 5 NLSCers in each years draft.

Keep in mind Cyberfaces will be a must Thumbs Up

Not bad Ben and Mark, not bad. How come though only Ben was in the draft game and not Mark? Either way... Looks good, and I like the off centered #s

Hey guys we have run into a little bit of a speed bump in this project.

Even though we have edited the teams.dbf to having the ISHUMAN field set to true for both Orlando and Miami the game wont allow us to set the playing time rotation for Miami (the dyansty save was started with Orlando as the chosen team).

I thought it might just be the case that there were two teams set as Human controlled, which would mean that if I wanted to edit the Magic rotation I would have to first set Miami's ISHUMAN field to false, and vice versa for setting Miami's rotation. While this would be annoying ti would not be the end of the world. However once I set Orlando's ISHUMAN field to false I still could not set the Heat's playing time rotation.

NOTE: I should also add that it allows me to edit the playing time/Starters etc, but once I leave the screen if doesn't save the changes I made. Also since the Dynasty was started with the Magic, everythign works fine if I only Orlando's ISHUMAN field is set to true, however when both teams are, not only can we not save the changes to the Miami rotation, we cannot even edit the Magic one at all.

Ive looked through all the dbf files in the save file and cannot see any fields that could be related to this problem apart from the ISHUMAN field, so ive concluded that it must be something un dbf related and possibly hard coded into the game.

Another observation that I have made is that if you finish a season and try to change the final records and standings of the teams via the teams.dbf it will change thier records etc in the teams stats section of the dynasty, but will not change the actual draft order in the offseason. This seems to back up my conclusion that there are other factors contributing to how the dynasty works other than dbfs.

So anyway if anyone knows of a way to fix this issue, or evenr some possible work around that we could do we would be very grateful to hear from you.

We have put a lot of time and work into getting this ready and we are really hyped about it so its going to be a bit of a downer if we cant carry on with it.

Hears to hoping we can sort something out (Y)

here is my suggestion. Start literally 2 dynasties and have two different saves. One for the Magic, one for the Heat. Somehow find a way to merge the two dynasties after each game. If I think up a good method using that Ill post it, but right now I gotta eat some breakfast.
Opinions are my own.
