Good way to finish November

The week was quite short for Celtics, with only 1 game in the schedule. A great 2nd quarter (won 29-18)made the difference in a very even game. Delonte West was unstoppable for New Jersey, scoring 28 and shooting 6/10 from the 3 point line. Despite of Delonte's amazing game, Paul Pierce was named Player of the game (18 points, 7 rebouunds, 8 asist, 8/26 FG). In Nets, Jefferson and Carter had good games, recording a double-double both of them. Kendrick Perkins grabbed more than 10 rebounds again, he's really important for the team defense. (11 rebounds in game versus New jersey).

November Review

November was a good month for Celtics, finishing it with a 8-6 record and leading the Atlantic Division. The team played good basketball, specially Pierce, who leads NBA in points per game. Kendrick Perkins surprised everyone with his great defense (10.4 rebounds per game in November). Coach Doc Rivers is happy with Delonte West and Gerald Green performance and he is pleased with asistans because of this 2 youngers evolution.
Regarding to global NBA, Detroit pistons had an excellent month, winning it's 15 games, what makes a record of 15-0 and gives them the lead at NBA standings. As Celtics, another surprising team was Orlando Magic, winning 12 matches and only loosing 4. New York cant improve from their last seasons performances; Now they own a record of 3-14. Lebron James and his Cavs made a 12-3 record to get the 2nd place of the whole NBA.
At the West, Houston Rockets are dominating with a 11-4 record, relegating Spurs to the 2nd place in SouthWest division (9-7 record). Everyone expected a better month for Utah Jazz (7-10) and Dallas Mavericks (7-8).
As told before, Paul Pierce leads NBA in points per game (28.9 ppg), followed by Tim Duncan (28.8 ppg). Not everything is about points in NBA, Garnet and Brand are leading in rebounds (13.9 and 13.4), while Gilbert "Agent 0" Arenas leads in asists per game (10.3), having a clear advantage on Jason Kidd (8.4). Elton Brand, apart from rebounds, is also intimidating opponents with an incredible average of 3.71 blocks per game. The surprise of the month is Darko Milicic playing 43.4 minutes per game.

Hard losts for Celtics

Boston lost the 3th game in the season against Charlotte Bobcats, it seems that they cant find the way to beat a weak team as Bobcats.Okafor, Wallace and Morrison great performances were too much for a team like Celtics, where Pierce scored 20, shooting 7/18 FG. Al Jefferson didnt score too much (8 points) but his 15 rebounds (8 offensive) were important for the team.
Chicago Bulls had a party at Boston, winning the game by 40 points. Crhis Duhon 5/7 from the 3 point line and Ben Gordon 24 points were decisive for Chicago. The problem Celtics had during this match was that West and Pierce shot most of team FG. (44/67 between them). Gerald Green only shot 2 times in 28 minutes, while Wally Szczerbiak tried to bring solutions from the bench but he scored only 3 points, shooting 1/7 FG.

This is excellent, and also realistic with the 8-8 record + original roster. Keep it like this! Your dynasty is awesome.

Looser streak continues at Boston

Another bad week for Celtics. It started in a good way, with an easy victory over the weak team of Memphis 118-88. Pierce, Jefferson and West were the better players of the match. In Memphis, Pau Gasol only scored 8 points, playing 33 minutes. Mike Miller scored 21, but shooting 2/7 3PT. Paul Pierce recorded a double-double (32 points, 10 rebounds, 8 asists), same as Al Jefferson (17 points, 10 rebounds).
Suns visited Celtics and gave them a hard lost by 28 points. Shawn Marion was the player of the game, with 17 points and 14 rebounds, while Steve Nash scored 24 but giving only 3 asists. Boston players shot really bad (31/85 FG, 3/14 3PT). Paul Pierce only scored 16 points, same quantity as Gerald Green and 1 point more than Delonte West (15 points, 5 asists).Celtics PF and C Jefferson and Perkins didnt have good games, shooting 5/24 between them.
In New Jersey, Celtics had a more even game against Nets, but a bad defense in 2nd quarter made them loose the match. Pierce had a good game scoring 27 points, but Al Jefferson's individualism was a factor that came against Celtics (4/15 FG). Nets 3 star players (Kidd, Carter and Jefferson) had a great game, scoring more than 20 points each of them. Jason Kidd added 6 asists and 3 rebounds to his 27 points and was named "Player of the Game".

2 Wins and 2 Losts

The week started in an excelent way with a victory over New York Kincks 94-77. Boston had a great team work to beat a team where only Marbury had a decent team. Celtics had bad FG%, because of Pierce's 6/23 and Jefferson's 6/20. But both of them recorded double-double, while Szczerbiak and West helped with 29 points between them. An interesting information is Knicks' 1/14 in 3 point shoots.
A Sixers team without Andre Igoudala was an easy rival for Boston. Delonte West was too much for them, scoring 30 points and giving 11 asists. Pierce and Jefferson also had good games (Pierce with 25 points and Jefferson with 15 points and 12 rebounds). Both teams had good offense game, shooting 41-81 FG Celtics and 35/78 Sixers. Andre Miller and Joe Smith played good basketball.
Celtics visiting Denver was a hard trip for Boston team. Nuggets gave them a basketball lesson, winning the game by 30 points and letting Celtics scored only 69 points. The whole starting five of Denver had a great game, while only Paul Pierce could do something for Celtics ( 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 asists). Perkins showed once more his null offensive skills, scoring only 1 point. JR Smith was named "Player of the Game", scoring 26 points in 30 minutes.
Bobcats beat Celtics for the 4th time this season. Celtics didnt have a bad game, but they cant stop Charlotte's offense. Brezec and Okafor were unstopable for Perkins and Jefferson, scoring 42 points between them (shooting 16/27). Felton recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 asists. Pierce tried to win the game by himself, but his 26 points werent enough.

Celtics looking to trade

Celtics Coach Doc Rivers is looking to add a new Center to the team. The reason is that Perkins and Jerfferson are not enough to stop their opponents. As an example, in game versus Bobcats, both Okafor and Brezec scored more than 20 points each.
Scouts have gone to Knicks and Hornets games to see how Tyson Chandler and Eddy Curry are playing this season. Both of them are the type of player Rivers is looking for, so GM Danny Ainge is negotiating the trade of those 2 with their respective teams.
Here it's the report that the scouts have made:

Image

Apart from that, Doc Rivers also wants to add an experienced guard to the team. He noticed that Telfair, Ray and Rondo were too inexpert to be a good substitute for Delonte West. The coach is looking for someone who could bring leadership to this unexperienced team, added to some playoff experience.

Celtics wins 2 games to complete a good week

Celtics surprised everyone with a great win over Golden State Warriors, for 112-89. Boston's 37 points in 1st quarter were the key to beat Warriors. Pierce scored 44 points (shooting 18-33 FG), reaching his season high. Al Jefferson had a good game, scoring 13 and and grabbing 12 rebounds (3 of them offenive ones). Al Harrington was Warriors best player, scoring 25 points, but it was not enough.
Sixers dominate Boston the whole match, but a great 4th quarter made the difference (Celtics won 31-15). The whole team played really well with all starting five scoring more than 13 points. Paul Pierce recorded double-double, with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Gerald Green had a good 4th quarter, finishing the game with 15 points. Nobody expected Andre Iguodala to shot 1/11 FG (5/5 FT), to finish the match with only 7 points.

Herrmann arrives at Boston

Celtics and Bobcats have came to an agreement, sending Ratlif and receiving the rookie Walter Herrmann. The objective of the trade was to clean the salary cap (Ratlif contract was 11 M and Herrman's 412 K). But not everything is good in this trade, Celtics have lost an experienced player and hughe defender.
Now, the cap room is ready to receive a big contract as Chandler's and Curry's, the 2 players who Doc Rivers is looking to add to the team.

Apart from this trade, Spurs and Hawks made the most important trade of the season: Finley for Childress

Great trade, adding another shooter to your team although i think you seriously need to search for a decent Big man Perkins is simply not good enough also fair trade Between Spurs and Hawks although with Childress in San Antonio he might not have as much of an impact as Finley does (Y)

Good luck with finding a big man :D

Win versus Warriors saves the week

Celtics went on a trip to the west, having 3 difficult games, against Nuggets, Clippers and Warriors.
Denver team was too mutch much for Celtics, beating them by 20 points. Carmelo Anthony was unstoppable, recording a double-double (23 points, 11 rebounds). Dermar Johnson scored 4/4 FG 3/3 3PT and 4/4 FT, to complete a perfect game with 15 points. Paul Pierce didnt have a good night, scoring 16 points, but shooting 6/22 FG. Al Jefferon shot 4/17 FG, to finish with only 9 points.
Clippers beat Celtics in a very even game, where 4 of his players recorded a double-double (Kaman, Maggette, Brand and Livingston). Pierce 21 points and 10 rebounds was not enough to win a really difficult match. If Celtics had scored more 3 pointers, the result could be different, because they shot only 4/19, that makes a .211 %.
Win over Warriors saved the week for Celtics. It was an important game if they wanted to keep a non-negative record. Pierce lead Boston to the win, scoring 28 points, 8 rebounds and 8 asists. Al Jefferson had a good game, scoring 18 points and grabbing 9 rebounds. Golden State team didnt have a bad night, but loosing the 4th quarter by 9 points was determinant. Jason Richardson scored 18 and Harrington 16.

Eddy Curry and James Jones, new players for Celtics

Eddy Curry was finally the Center traded by Boston Celtics. Boston cent Telfair and Allen, in exchange for Curry and Cato. With this trade, Boston wins 2 beasts in the paint, but looses a good backup SF as Tony Allen. That's why Danny Ainge negotiate with Phoenix Suns to add James Jones to the team. Finally, they came to an agreement: Scalabrine and Powe for Jones. Jones is a good 3 point shooter and can play as PF, while Powe and Scalabrine performances were not good this season.
Game versus Seatle Sonics is going to be the debut for both of them.
