Roster Breakdown:

Starters:

C - Channing Frye - Rookie, Frye could become a lynchpin in the Knicks revival. Alot of hopes are pinned on Frye combining with the solid veterans in this team, to light up the MSG and get the Knicks back into .500 territory.

G - Stephon Marbury - Marbury has bags of talent and experience, however during his stint with New York, the Knicks have failed to make any headway in the NBA. This year could be pivotal, as another year of near misses will potentially lead to a total rebuild from the Front Office.

G - Steve Francis - Another player that oozes finesse and yet again another that has failed to do that little bit more to push the Knicks over the edge. There has to be more production on and off the court by Francis this year.

F - Eddy Curry - Eddy has alot of upside and at 22 is already heading into his 5th year of NBA. He is just another cog in this machine, that needs driving in the right direction, get Eddy right mentally and the Knicks will reap the rewards.

F - David Lee - Another rookie in the ranks who will see alot of court time this year. Coming out of Florida, the Knicks are hoping for a board crashing monster to pick up the ball and become a solid part of this team.

Bench:
F - Renaldo Balkman
C - Kelvin Cato
G - Mardy Collins
G - Jamal Crawford
F - Jerome James
C - Jared Jeffries
C - Randolph Morris
G - Quentin Richardson
G - Nate Robinson
F - Malik Rose

Game 1 - @ Memphis Grizzlies (0-0)

Ain' Nothing But A Knicks Win....!
Image
Above: Isiah ensures the Knicks remain composed during a blowout, as the win sparks the congratulations (right).

New York start with a bang as the Grizzlies are taken apart from the get-go losing 110-87 at home to the Knicks.

Frye, Francis and Curry all had 20+point games as everyone stepped up their game to ensure a solid start to the season on the road. On the downside Marbury had a poor day leaving him still very much in the eyesight of a Front Office who want to shift some salary.

New York 110 Memphis 87

Talking Knicks:

Channing Frye: "Its a good win for us here and im happy to be a part of this organisation. We have a long way to go, so no-one back theres getting carried away"

Stephon Marbury: "Of course im under pressure, but thats how I like this game. I can step up when it matters, you will see Marbury back in the headlines soon enough..."

Game 2 - @ Atlanta Hawks (0-1)

Hawk Down!
Image
Above: Marbury hits they key 3 pointer to prove his doubters wrong, Right: The Hawks call a timeout, but turnover the ball in the fina seconds to seal their fate

A tense affair at the Phillips Arena as the Hawks threw away a double digit lead, to lose out in the final seconds as Marbury sinks a 3 pointer to clinch a 108-105 win.

The Knicks now move to 2-0on the back of this win as Marbury plays a key role, whilst Frye hits 20pts for the second straight game. Eddy Curry stepped up with 6 defensive rebounds (7 total) as the Knicks saw their hard work pay off with the win.

New York 108 Atlanta 105

Talking Knicks:

Eddy Curry: "Everyone knows that Steve has the talent to change games, people just need to give us time to become the team that they already expect"

Stephon Marbury: "That good enough for you....."

Game 3 - vs Indiana Pacers (0-2)

W'Indiana!
Image
Above: Two buzzer beaters ensure that the Pacers force OT, before the the'tray'for a win

Indiana got the rub of the green as they took advantage of some Knick complacency to both hit a buzzer beating 2 for the tie, before serving up a 3point game winner with just 2 seconds left in OT.

Frye again produced for the Knicks, alongside Curry and Lee who took 9 rebounds a piece. However New York never capitalised on their game best 7 point lead in the 4th, and succumbed to a home opening defeat to go 2-1 for the year.

Indiana 111 New York 108 OT

Talking Knicks:

David Lee: "We threw that one away out there, 7 points ahead in the 4th and they tie it at the buzzer, then we do the same in OT, Coach is not happy"

Channing Frye: "Im enjoying the start, but that was a heartbreaker to lose"

Game 4 - vs San Antonio Spurs (2-1)

Spurred On!
Image
Above: New York put up a fight, but fell apart in the 4th to a strong Parker and Duncan show

The Spurs came, saw and conquered the Knicks at the MS, as both Parker and Duncan racked up double doubles (Pts / Asts) to lead their perennial contending team to a 3-1 record.

New York kept the game close throughout, though never had enough to bridge the gap. For the first time this year, Channing Frye failed to hit 20pts, as Steve Francis put up the Knicks best numbers.

San Antonio 119 New York 109

Talking Knicks:

Isiah Thomas: "Morale is still good in there, they know the Spurs are going to be contending, so we can take alot of positives from that game"

Stephon Marbury: "We need to start winning these games if we are to get into the playoffs"

Game 5 - @ Denver Nuggets (1-1)

Knicked' It!
Image
Above: What Carmelo can do, Eddy can do better.....!

New York grew some balls and cameback to win their 3rd straight road game, as the overturned the heavily favoured Nuggets in their own arena.

Camby and Anthony put up the numbers as the Nuggets strode away in the 1st half, racking up a double digit lead. Francis then got into the grove for the Knicks and he inspired a rallied comeback, that saw the Nuggets chasing a 8point lead into the final minute of the match.

The Knicks are now 3-2 and have a 3 win, unbeaten road streak to protect.

New York 99 Denver 93

Talking Knicks:

Steve Francis: "Im aiming for consistency and to put performances on every game"

Channing Frye: "We hit the boards hard as a team and thats what turns games"

Nice dynasty, but you are playing on PC, so you can just take pics of the boxscores the game has, which saves A LOT of time, and looks better. ;)

Game 6 - @ Houston Rockets (4-1)

Rocked!
Image
Above: Frye goes down with a potential knee problem, whilst (right) Marbury is kept on the wrong side of the ball

Houstons talent filled lineup took the Knicks to the sword and rocked them off the court by controlling a game that ended closer than it ever was.

New Yorks 100% road record came to an end, though concerns over Frye'slong term health is likely to be of more concern after the rookie Center went down with knee damage in the third.

Eddy Curry again proved his continual improvement by putting up more impressive numbers.

New York 91 Houston 100

Talking Knicks:

Isiah Thomas: "We are concerned over Channings foot. Hopefully its more pain than damage, so we can get him some rest, though anything serious could see us need to look at our options."

Channing Frye: "It hurts and im just hoping that once they take a look, things will be OK"

Game 7 - @ San Antonio Spurs (3-2)

Not Quite Knick!
Image
Above: Parker racks up 48pts for the Spurs, as the team trudge off after taking this tough loss

Tied through the 1st half, and just a 2pt defecit going into the 4th, the Knicks would of hoped for a late surge victory. However 2 of the Spurs big guns stepped up in the 4th, as Parker (48) and Ginobli (39) put on over 80pts between them.

Curry kept the Knicks as close as he could and ended up with 15 in the 4th, 32 game, but it wasn't enough for the Knicks who will now miss Channing Frye for 12 weeks due to the injury suffered in Houston.

New York 108 San Antonio 116

Talking Knicks:

Isiah Thomas: "Channings out for about 3 months, we have an option that is being worked on"

Eddy Curry: "Putting up big numbers dosent take away the taste of defeat, we need to turn this around and not hit a slump"

Knicks Numbers:

Game 8 - vs Cleveland Cavaliers (2-4)

Solid In New York!
Image
Above: Curry just dunked all over LeBron, whilst Isiah overseas the Knicks first home win of the season

The Knicks ran away with the win over Cleveland, as they held leads upto 23 points through the 3rd quarter, as the Knicks kept their guests quiet.

Bench points contributed to the victory as both James and Crawford got into double digits, whilst Lee racked up 25 going 9/19 from the floor.

LeBron and the fancied Cavs slump to 2-5, whilst the Knicks move to a healthy 4-4 record.

Cleveland 101 New York 112

Talking Knicks:

David Lee: "We worked on putting this performance together in practice and its good for coach to see us put into place what he expects"

Jamal Crawford: "Everyone is part of this lineup, thats what is drilled into us. Its not just 1,2 or even 5 that win Championships, its the whole organisation"

Game 9 - vs Washington Wizards (2-4)

Wizards Conjour Win!

(Apologies for no pictures, FRAPS failed)

Washington fought back in a rampant 4th, to seal a 4 point win, 115-111 over the Knicks.

Arenas led the Wizards from the floor, submitting over 40pts. Whilst the Knicks had Curry, Francis, Richardson and Lee all in double digits, though it proved in vain.

Thomas will be pulling his hair out after that loss, as 10 missed free throws and 14 turnovers cost the Knicks the win.

Washington 115 New York 111

Talking Knicks:

Eddy Curry: "Yeah that was a bad loss, however we are gelling and theres definately alot more quality in our locker room"

Isiah Thomas: "I dont get involved in that side of things, if the Front Office want to make a move, you best go up there to talk"

Above: Authority and style ensure the Knicks can celebrate a huge comeback win

Miami blew up in the 2nd half as the Knicks showed some balls' to comeback big in the 3rd and 4th to take a squeaker over the NBA Champs'

David Lee once again came to the court with his 'A' game, pacing 29pts, as again the Knick bench prove their value to the team.

New York 106 Miami 100

Talking Knicks:

Stephon Marbury: "I can play alot better, but I am happy here and to stay part of this organisation, I will have to play that much better"

Isiah Thomas: "We are missing Frye, its been a few niggly injuries that limit the team, but at 5-5 we can be positve with our start"
