Make that three. I don't get why so many people love mixing vodka and Monster...fuckin nasty. I was convinced to mix Absolut with low-carb Monster last night and I've been feeling nauseous all day. I'll take 10 shots and be fine the next day, but mixing always gets me so hung over.

Vodka used to be my favorite alcohol.
Absolut, down straight, then followed with a little bit of Sprite/7-Up to gargle.
I can't do that anymore, or any hard drinks for that matter, I think my liver gave up with my ways.
Guess that's what I get for drinking oj mixed with Jim Beam as early as 6th grade. I used to mix it everyday until the bottle was empty.

honestly, my favorite vodka drink right now is vodka + Monster. it gets you fucked up really fast because it's alcohol + caffienne [spelling?] (depressant + stimulant) plus if you let it sit for 5 mins after you mix them, the taste of vodka is almost gone, depending on how much vodka you put in of course.

True, it does get you feeling buzzed much faster. It takes at least 5 shots of straight vodka to get me feeling anything, but less voda + monster did the trick. But the hangover was so much worse...not worth it IMO. Felt like shit all day...was still feeling nauseous at the graduation party I went to tonight.

same....which is how my cousin likes to start drinking, and then 1 shot per 15 mins. 1st time i tried it it was hell, i only made it up to 8 but now i can reach dbl digits fairly easily.

Same here... I can't take any kind of alcohol other than beer or some low-percentage thing like Bacardi.
I don't see how people enjoy drinking vodka or any other high-percentage drink. I mean, it doesn't even taste good.

well people don't drink alcohol because it tastes good :|

obviously they do it to get drunk and they tolerate the bad taste to get drunk.

Its definitely an acquired taste, and one that has a large degree of varience from the lower end stuff to the high end liquors. If Im drinking vodka, it must be mixed with Red Bull, or club soda with a lime. I enjoy Captain Morgan mixed with ginger as well, for a mixed drink, or pretty much anything with Jager in it.

What is the point of drinking something if it doesn't taste good?

I mean, you won't ever drink corn syrup because it tastes like shit. Still you drink alcohol even if it tastes like shit, just to get drunk.

Again, what is the fucking point in getting drunk? From my experiences, I can for sure say it's not fun.

From what I've seen, most teenagers around my age get drunk just to appear to be cool. I see it happen every week, and I must say, it's quite pathetic.

Meh, I'll never understand most things in this world.

It's only been not fun for me when bad things happen like you get jumped or have something stolen, or lose something.

Some people drink to "loosen up", some people drink to get drunk which alot of the time turns out to be a good experience because so much funny shit happens. I would trade in a hangover or a chance of doing something stupid for memories and some funny stories any day. Actually, stupid things that suck when it happens often turn out to be good memories too.

Alcohol is an acquired taste. I like to get drunk, but I also love to just have a glass of Jack or Captain Mo straight. They just taste good. You just get used to it after a while.

Interesting. I'd think it would be the opposite. Jack is a much sweeter tasting drink. Captain Morgan has much more of a kick.

Ty's Top 5 Alcoholic Drinks

1. Canadian Club with Vanilla Coke or Ginger Beer
2. Boags Premium Draught Beer
3. Jim Beam with Vanilla Coke (can substitute Beam with any quality Bourbon or Whiskey: other favourites Jack Daniels, Johnny Walker Black Label, Wild Turkey)
4. A nice bottle of Pinot Grigio or Semillion White wine, or a Cabernet Savignon Red.
5. Black Sambuca for shots.

Been hitting the wine a bit lately, good times. Just be drinking with girlfriend and company and getting slowly plastered.

A mate of mine also just bought me a bottle of Para Port from 1985 for my b'day. Haven't tried it yet, but it looks nice. Could be an interesting night when we get a chance to crack it open.

black sambuca shots....I prefer the vanilla sambuca....it's yellow, tastes better & still has the sambuca essence to it....

I mix most scotches with ginger ale, bourbons with cola....probably has to do with sweetness of the drinks....but yep, I was having a couple of jim beams with vanilla coke the other night....but I generally don't drink jim beam unless it's free (which it was the other night)....

comes off as odd for me too. captain morgans was the drink i used to buy when i just wanted to get drunk, cause its so cheap.used to pick up a handle on friday or saturday night for 20 bucks and it would do the trick. also was very usefull in getting girls to be a little more forth coming with certain things.
