Looks pretty cool. I will follow (Y)

The plan looks a lot like 3PK's 06-07 dynasty. Can't wait for more updates...

Greetings hoop fans! I've really enjoyed playing 'Dynasty Mode' over the years but my fav so far - NBA Live 2006

I've recently discovered these forums and have enjoyed reading/am inspired by many of the great dynasties out there. So, as a Bay Area native and long-time Warriors fan, this thread will be my first attempt at tracking my resurging virtual Golden State Warriors team online - wish me luck!

Image

DYNASTY SETTINGS
Sim Quarter length: 12 minutes
Playoff Length: 7-7-7-7
Sim Injuries: Yes
Sim Type: Intervention

IN-GAME SETTINGS
Skill Level: Superstar
Quarter Length: 10 minutes

GAMEPLAY SETTINGS

NBA LIVE 2006 version of 'Dynasty Mode' (D Wade box cover);
Dynasty begins in '05-06 BUT with '06-07 team rosters MINUS the '06-07 rookie class (Chris Paul's rookie season; sorry Brandon Roy - no RotY for you);
Complete simulation (no intervention) of the 2005-06 season through Finals;
NO PLAYER TRADES ALLOWED IN 2005-06 SEASON (to avoid rookie 'hording' temptation);
Starting in '06-07:
* Game-by-game recaps;
* Player trades allowed;
* 4th Qtr intervention allowed but in 'coaching' mode only ie., calling timeouts, making subs; otherwise games are viewed CPU v CPU (just like watching a real game!)

And so, it begins...

On March 19, 2004, Don Nelson stepped down as Dallas Maverick's Head Coach, leaving Avery Johnson as his successor. Nelson retained his job as Dallas' GM until after the season when he named his son, Donnie Nelson, as his replacement

On August 29, 2005, ESPN's NBA Senior Writer Micky Steinberg reported that the Golden State Warriors bought out Mike Montgomery's contract and hired Don Nelson to take over the team again. The Warriors last made the playoffs in 1994 with Nelson at head coach, enduring a 12-year playoff drought since his departure

Would Nelson's return to the Warriors be the difference?

Nelson gets familiar with his coaching staff and 'new' old team, in particular his two superstars - seasoned point guard, Baron Davis, and highflyin' scoring sensation, Jason Richardson

Okay. Well, that's it for now. Hope you've enjoyed the start! Hang on, more to come... - BD#5

Thx Scoop, I'm sure 3PK's was one of the many that I enjoyed reading and left an impact so I gotta give him props for the inspiration! - BD#5

'SMALL BALL' RETURNS TO THE BAY AREA
With Nellie once again at the helm, the Warriors started the '05-06 season with the freshness of new beginnings, hopeful possibilites and a coach willing and proven to be effective playing quick, 'small ball' lineups.
Coach Nelson commented to reporters during pre-season training camp,"We're not a good team in the post. Our bigs are either too young or too small to really match up with the Duncans, YAOs or KGs of the league. Then you have newcomers like Amare in Phoenix or Bosh out East, not to mention versatile guys like Dirk who dominate from range as well. No, we're not going to try to match up. Our strength is our speed and quickness. That means we've gotta run it and run it hard. Period."
And as the first games of the regular season progressed he held true to his words.
Things were off to a promising start until a streak of overlapping injuries struck, further exposing the team's inside weakness and lack of post presence
Image

Image
With Biedrins, Pietrus and Foyle recovering, the Warriors would struggle and hover near the .500 mark leading into All-Star Weekend but Baron Davis' incredible efforts to keep them there would not go unrecognized, earning him Starting Point Guard for the West.

Davis: "Just making the All-Star team is great but being a starter is just... wow. It's amazing. But don't get me wrong. I'm not satisfied. While I'm truly thankful for the fans who voted for me, I'd give this award up in a second for a chance to give back to all the fans in the Bay Area what they truly want and deserve - the Playoffs."

Very nice recapping. This is just the simulating of the season, so I can't wait to see how good the actual game recaps are! Keep it coming! :D

Thx again Scoop; not sure how I'll handle that just yet but we'll see how it goes; there are a lot of great examples out there to learn from (including your own '05-06 Blazers btw - very nice!); I just want to have fun with it and see where it takes me - BD#5

Image

But Davis would not be the only Warrior to enjoy the All-Star festivities. Teammate Jason Richardson would take center stage the night before, during the '05-06 All-Star Weekend Slam Dunk Contest and despite stiff competition, Richardson would rise above the rest
Prep for take off...
Mad hops 1

Give that man a 50!

capturing his first Slam Dunk title and becoming the first Warrior in team history to ever win the honors
Image
(Note: J-Rich has actually won the title twice, in 2002 and again in 2003, joining Michael Jordan as one of only two players to have won consecutive NBA Slam Dunk Competitions; but for sake of keeping track in my virtual dynasty, this is his first hahah; either way, not too shabby! - BD#5)

ON THE BUBBLE...

After the All-Star break the team would continue to struggle, mainly against the bigger, stronger teams of the Western division. They would hover just a few games under .500 by the end of March when a pair of devastating injuries would occur to two crucial Starters
2006 March game schedule

Image
Image

With Davis and Jackson out, the team's mettle would be tested

"It's gut check time. Guy's have to step up. We've worked hard all season and we're right there. We've just gotta believe," Davis told Jim Barnett on March 31st, during a Warrior's Rountable interview after the Warriors suffered a franchise record 53 point slaughter at the hands of nearby rivals, the Sacramento Kings. The Warrior's would lose not only the game but starting Foward Steven Jackson to injury on a particularly nasty flagrant foul by Artest.
"Warriors? Pffft... felt like playing a bunch of high school kids out there. I don't care if he's (Jackson) hurt. I don't care at all." Foward Ron Artest remarked afterwards, adding insult to injury
(Note: Incidentally, according to Wikipedia, the real life all time worst loss? 68 - The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Miami Heat 148-80 on December 17, 1991. WOW! - BD#5)

THE RALLY

The humiliating loss would ignite a fire within the team's reserves and it seemed a different Warrior would step up each and every night. Rookie Monta Ellis would rise to the occasion of starting Point Guard while Matt Barnes and Mickael Pietrus would give strong contributions in Jackson's absence. Jason Richardson would step up his game to another level and lead the team in Baron's absence. "Baron and Jax are the heart and soul of this team. I've gotta do whatever it takes to keep us a float until they return," the Slam Dunk Champ told reporters

But probably the biggest contribution came from the fans who, after 12 years of missed opportunities, were desperate for a return to the playoffs. Baron's post game interview after the Sacramento loss was heard across the bay and the fans responded - the maxim, "We Believe!" began to spread like wild fire
Image

It became impossible to lose at the Oracle Arena, supportered by the cheers of the rabid and frenzied crowd. "They won't let us lose," Davis said, who returned to starting PG for the final decisive games of the season

It would come down to the final game of the regular season and the Warriors would find strength not only from the crowd,
Image

    but within themselves

"WE BELIEVE!"

Reaching the Playoffs for the first time in 12 years, the Warriors would face the #1 ranked Phoenix Suns, in a series anticipated to be one of the highest scoring in NBA history, given the quick-hitting offensive styles of both teams

"It'll be an amazing series. I know Baron's a tough cover, a great defender and really knows how to run the offense. They're all very lean and quick and play the passing lanes well. We're practically equal teams... well, except we've got Amare" two-time veteran point guard Steve Nash told reporters before the series' start

When asked what it would be like to face Nash and the Suns in a seven game series, Baron replied, "Nash? He's the best in the business right now. You can't ask for anything better than to face the best at this level, especially for this franchise and these great fans that haven't experienced a playoff game in over a decade. It's gonna be a lot fun"

The hype and atmosphere was absolutely electric
Image
The players were excited and ready to go
Image
Image
Image

NASH-TY EXIT

But unfortunately, the Warriors' high octane offense would come to a grinding halt and the team's playoff dreams would burst rather abruptly but decisively. Golden State would prove to be no match for Nash and the far superior Phoenix Suns, who would methodically sweep the Warriors out of the first round and playoffs, thus ending an otherwise successful season

    Image

Most notable to coach Nelson, was the lack of inside presence once again exposed as the team continued to have no answer for the Sun's Amare Stoudemire who dominated the series, controlling the glass and demolishing the Warriors in the paint

"He's a beast. I don't know what else I can tell you. We had a nice run, we've accomplished a lot this season and I'm very proud of our players. We're all gonna take some time off, regroup then come back next season ready to go to work. Obviously for this team to go further, there are a lot of decisions Chris (Mullin) and I have to make" coach Nelson said during his post-game press conference immediately following the Warriors elimination game

2005-2006 FINALS

The Suns, possibly rusty from a long delay waiting for Houston to finish a grueling seven game series vs Dallas, would fall to the defensively dominating Rockets team led by Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady. McGrady would have a tremendous series against the Suns, perhaps amped from having his streak of first round playoff exits finally ended
Road to the Finals

But T-Mac and Yao would in turn be eliminated in the Western Conference Finals by Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs who would return to the NBA Finals for the second time in three years against the tough, no non-sense defensive powerhouse Detroit Pistons

In a gritty series that would go seven games, the San Antonio Spurs would prevail, "The Big Fundamental", Tim Duncan, would be named Finals MVP and with the Spurs championship run complete, the 2005-2006 season would come to a close

2005-2006 NBA Finals

DECISIONS, DECISIONS…

After the Golden State Warriors' first playoff appearance in 12 years and disappointing first round exit at the hands of the Phoenix Suns, Head Coach Don Nelson and General Manager Chris Mullin would need to make some difficult decisions in the off season
2006-2007 DRAFT LOTTO

RESIGNING PERIOD

Nelson was pleased with everyone's efforts from the previous season and made sure to keep his team intact

Monta Ellis would re-sign a 3 year, 3.30M contract; Mat Barnes secured a 6 year, 26.90M contract; and Al Harrington was awarded the biggest re-signing contract of 57.90M over 6 years
2006-2007 DRAFT PROSPECTS

Team scouts projected the '06-07 Draft to be only an 'average' class at best, with no immediate impact players entering the league

    The top three prospects were:

Kenneth Benzer. Age 24; Height 6'3"; Weight 200 lbs SG out of Arkansas
Scouting Report: Excellent offensive player with amazing hops but poor defense skills

Ayeshi Lee. Age 20; Height 6' 8"; Weight 227lbs PF from Cincinnati
Scouting Report: Decent shotblocker and great strength; potentially tremendous inside game but average in all other categories otherwise

Lamond Pope. Age 24; Height 7'0" 236lbs Center
Scouting report: An international player from Johannesburg S. Africa with exceptional basketball I.Q. and solid big man skills; however a poor shooter and lacking in stamina

Don Nelson, however, had his eyes on a lesser know prospect - a 24 year old, 6'2" 212 lbs shooting guard from Georgia named, Kevin Olajakundi. The rookie was invited to practice with the Warriors during the preseason and impressed not only the coaching staff but the players as well

Following the workouts, Jason Richardson commented on Olajakundi's game:

"He's a pure shooter, talented and smart with solid fundamentals"

    "He plays solid defense"

"and can finish his shot even with contact"

"Did I mention he has CRAZY range?"

But despite their interest in the young rookie guard, GM Chris Mullin and coach Nelson knew that drafting another guard wouldn't resolve the Warriors' lack of inside presence and that promising draftee big men would likely be taken early; without a legit rebounder and shotblocker, the team's chances in the coming season were no better than the previous. Moreso, they ran the risk of losing fan support which they had worked so hard to build the previous season

Trade rumors began to swirl among Bay Arena fans. It was rumored that Mullin was in talks with GMs in Atlanta, Memphis, Denver and Minnesota to name a few. Names like Nene, Garnett, Boozer, Gasol began to spread in every local sports talk radio show
RETIRING

Many defensive specialists would move on entering the '06-07 season

The Miami Heat would begin it's rebuilding phase after being eliminated by Detroit in the previous playoffs. Veteran shotblocker Alonzo Mourning would retire to spend more time with his family while teammate Gary 'the Glove' Payton would also retire to pursue new endeavors with former Sonics teammate Sean Kemp in a culinary cuisine tv show; other notable retirements - Bruce Bowen and Brent Barry from the San Antonio Spurs, former Pacers teammates, 'the Davis Boys' Antonio and Dale Davis
Image

2006-2007 DRAFT DAY

    As expected, Kenneth Benzer was drafted #1, going to the New York Knicks to play with Stephon Marbury and Steve Francis, adding to the Knicks' already dangerous backcourt;

    With second pick, Ayeshi Lee, went to the Portland Trailblazers who would possibly shift Zach Randolf to Center and play the rookie at starting PF;

    The third pick was a surprise as the Washington Wizards took the gamble on 7'5" 285lbs international Center from Astana, Kazakhstan, Dean Karpotvsev. 'Karp' as his teammates have dubbed him, was scouted to be a versatile 'finesse' big man with soft shooting touch and good potential but most agreed he was still a work-in-progress. Even so, the Wizards were willing to take that risk to see what a force 'Karp' might become especially with rising superstar Gilbert Arenas running the point;

Olajakundi would drop a few notches from his projected finish

Center Lamar Pope would fall drastically, drafted 11th overall by the Warrior's bay area rivals, the Sacramento Kings. Ron Artest commented after the Kings' selection, "Lamar's a bruiser and quick learner who's gonna punish fools in the paint. A lot of teams will be kickin' themselves for passing him by"

And with the 15th and 45th picks, the Warriors would settle on two Power Forwards in Chris Dormi, 6'8" 249lbs from Triteni, Romania and Dakarai Mohammed, 6'5" 232lbs from Bangui, C. African Rep

trade winds brewing. more to come! - BD#5

Nbarulez - in Live 2006, Matt Barnes is part of the 76ers roster, just waaay down the list; I literally took time to move everyone around to their '06-07 teams, cut players no longer there and adjusted some stats but not by much (Barnes overall is I think a 71 in my game); of course saving the roster with 2 separate names ie, "Rostr07A" and "Rostr07B" as I moved people around or made changes so I'd have an emergency backup in case I F'd up; after that I was too spent to create the '06-07 rookie class and since I'm playing 'Dynasty Mode' anyway w/comp generated rookies in future years, I didn't bother

I play NBA Live '06 on my laptop computer which also has Live '07 installed; but I didn't like '07 Dynasty Mode (too complicated for my taste) so I made the 'Nelson' change in the '06 version; I did that a while ago and can't remember if it was as simple as copying the 'coaches.dbf' from '07 to '06 or if I actually edited the file in '06 to get Don Nelson; I know Live '07 has Nelson as coach of GSW so I think I just copied/replaced the files; I wouldn't mess w/it unless you know what you're doing 'cause it could mess things up; if you do decide to tinker like I did anyway? make sure you ALWAYS BACK UP THE ORIGINAL VERSIONS OF THE FILE FIRST before you replace them otherwise you might have to do a complete uninstall/reinstall

my Matt Barnes looks like this:
http://img520.imageshack.us/img520/4016 ... nesix5.jpg

Anyway, hope this helped - BD#5

haha thx rulez; yeah funny thing is Artest and S-Jax are tight in real life, given what they went through in the Indy v Detroit 'Brawl'; but they are west coast rivals now, so who knows? - BD#5

MULLIN AND NELLIE GO TO WORK

For the most part, Warrior fans were pleased with the draft considering their picking order and just hoped the new rookies would chip in to give starters Andris Biedrins and Al Harrington some valuable rest minutes

The free agent signing period's most notable move was Point Guard Andre Miller leaving Philly to join Chris Bosh and the Toronto Raptors. One had to wonder if further trades were in their near future with TJ Ford already at the helm. Another notable movement - veteran shooting guard Eddie Jones left Miami to sign a 3-yr, 27.93M contract with the Charlotte Bobcats. All other big name players chose to re-sign with their teams
BIG TRADES IN GOLDEN STATE

Mullin and Nelson wasted no time pursuing Orlando for rights to Olajakundi whom they saw as the good fit for the Warriors, hoping he could provide some valuable rest minutes for guards Davis and Richardson. As the opening day of trade negotiations began, the two teams had reached an agreement
Image
With both 1st and 2nd round Power Forwards sent to Orlando to acquire a back-up shooting guard, the fans once again broke into a frenzy speculating a potential trade for a legit big man. Meanwhile, teams were in contact with GM Chris Mullin attempting to cater to Nellie's "small ball" coaching philosophy
Image
but Coach Nelson had other plans.

Less than a week later, fan speculation would prove to be correct as GM Chris Mullin would make a blockbuster trade announcement
Image

in a trade that would be received with mixed reviews:
"I've played against Kenyon Martin in the past. He's a fierce competitior - strong, athletic, a great shotblocker and rebounder and runs the floor extremely well but because of his injuries, he's been written off. People forget that Martin was the #1 draft pick in 2000. I think if he can stay healthy, he'll be a great fit in the Warriors system and this will be seen in the latter part of the season as yet another masterful move by GM Chris Mullin and Coach Don Nelson," said NBA Analyst Steve Kerr

Although Mickey Steinberg of ESPN wrote, "You have to wonder what Warriors' management was thinking. Martin is completely injury prone and has sat on the bench all last year in Denver. But it's rumored that this was only because he was in the doghouse with coach Karl, that he actually wasn't injured, and it was more about Martin's bad attitude and work ethic. Well... Nelson did make it work with Steven Jackson somehow so, who knows? Still, I think you play it safe and take a gamble with your young, healthy rookies and see how they develop instead of going after an old, broke-down, over-paid has-been"

Fans as well had mixed feelings about the trade. At Ricky's sports bar in Oakland, California, long-time Warriors fan, Shirley Templeton of El Cerrito said, "I think it's brilliant! I used to watch K-Mart in Jersey alongside Kidd and wished our team had a big man who could intimidate the opposition and run the floor so well. K-Mart was like the 'Amare' of his time before Amare showed up - it's exciting!"

But sitting next to her, skeptical fan Freddie Esther of Richmond added, "He's going to get injured and just take up bench space early in the season, just watch. The only good thing is we at least ditched Adonyl Foyle's ridiculous contract"

rulez - 1) hahah - made up man! it would be cool in game though; then again I'd rather EA focused on better/realistic gameplay than extras for ex: those 'Insider' rumors and what not in Live '07? annoying feature and waste of code imho; 2) yeah no kiddin' on Eddie Jones, don't know what Bobcats were thinking but he does still have decent overall rate (76 I think) in 2006; 3) yeah I'm hoping it was a good deal. K-Mart (age 28, 11.88M, overall 81, 5th year) for Powell (age 22, 642K, overall 63, rookie) + Foyle (age 31, 8.10M, overall 58, 8th year) + Jasikevicius (age 30, 4.00M, overall 64, rookie); I'm thinking the game considers age, player potential and roster needs when accepting/declining trades; I know Denver is loaded with PFs/Cs: Najera, Klieza, Nene, Camby and has only Steve Blake (overall 57) as backup PG to Iverson; so basically Denver gets a better PG plus younger PF in Powell and additional backup C

ant15 - that's what I'm hoping for man; at least a little inside force but agile and quick as well! Hope K-Mart's still got gas in the tank… - BD#5

COACHING STAFF

Coach Nelson brought back Assistant Coach and rebounding specialist, Oba Clifton, for another year to help Kenyon Martin's transition into the Warriors' system as well as furthering the growth and development of young Center, Andris Biedrins; Torso/Legs specialist, Rafer Brewer, whom Nelson had worked with from his coaching days in Dallas, gladly accepted a 3 year contract and scout Pete Tipton was hired for one year for his knack of finding defensive-minded players in North America (?)

With the acquisition of Kenyon Martin, coach Nelson made the difficult decision to release Zarko Cabarkapa before the start of training camp. Caparkapa was in the final year of his contract. When asked about the concerns of a limited bench coach Nelson insisted, "You all know I play a very short rotation. We'll be fine"

NOTE: Another notable league player transaction, 8 yr pro Bonzi Wells, would leave the Houston Rockets just before the start of training camp to sign a 4 yr, 33.12M contract with the Philadelphia 76ers
TRAINING CAMP

To coach Nelson's satisfaction, everyone except 2nd year guard, Monta Ellis, would maintain or improve in the off season and through training camp, perhaps motivated by their early first round exit to Phoenix the season before. When reporters asked about Ellis' noticeable decline Nelson responded, "Monta's a young kid. I heard he's been hitting the Krispy Kremes a little too often over the Summer. Once the season gets started, he'll be alright"

The rest of the Warrior players looked motivated, hungry and ready for the season, in particular their star point guard, Baron Davis

Davis would tell reporters, "I really worked out hard this off season. When I trained, I just kept thinking about how we went out last year. It's not gonna happen again if I have any say about it. What's that? No, actually I only look thinner; I'm about 5 pounds heavier than last season, but I feel leaner and faster. Muscle weighs more than fat I guess"

And of course, all eyes were on Kenyon Martin during those weeks, to see how healthy he was and how he would fit into coach Nelson's system. Reporters asked whether Nelson would start Martin and bring Al Harrington off the bench

Nelson: "Al's our starter. I definitely like what I see in Kenyon so far but he's got some conditioning to work on and kinks to work out. He's sat on the bench a whole year, remember? I don't think he'll mind waiting just a little longer"

When told of coach Nelson's comments Martin would reply, "Hell's no I don't mind! If coach wanted me to run the point I'd do it; I've only known Nellie a short time but I already love the guy, this team and the system coach runs. Man, you don't even know. After being stuck on my ass a whole season over in Denver? I don't care about comin' off the bench, minutes or any of that (beep). I'm just jazzed to be playin' ball again and I'm gonna do whatever it takes to help this ball club win."

You should start marrtin and Harrington, that would really be playing small haha
How much are you playing them? Like are you setting the player rotation with he defalts? Because if you do, the backups hardly play

I agree with nbarulez, you should start Harrington and Kenyon. I know it is a bit small, but they are good players. And if it doesnt work out you can always move Biedrins back in at C.

Also nbarulez, he is playing "NBA Live 06". There is no such thing as player rotation on that game.

Thx 3pk and nice job w/the Pistons btw! Yeah rulez, what scoop said; no 'Player Rotations' cntrl in Live 2006 (probably the only thing I DO like from Live 2007) but I found you can arrange how players sub in/out by their order in the line up; also depends on what position(s) the players are assigned as primary and secondary
you should start Harrington and Kenyon

seems to be the consensus! we'll have to see how coach Nellie handles it... - BD#5

GAME RECAP

In a league full of young, athletic superstars, it would be one of the NBA's non-flashy, seasoned veterans to ice the big shot and hand the Golden State Warriors their first loss in the '06-07 regular season opener. Antonio McDyess, a 32 year old, 11-year veteran Power Forward from last season's Eastern Conference Champion Detroit Pistons, left the Pistons during the free agency period this season to sign a contract that would pay him 18M over 3 years with the Milwaukee Bucks. He would not wait long to make his impact felt in his first game as a Buck in front of the home crowd. Isolated in the post against Center, Andris Biedrins, McDyess would call for the ball with less than 30 seconds remaining in the game, milk the clock then bank a fade away jumper off the glass over the outstretched arms of Biedrins to put Milwaukee ahead 115-111 with 14.3 seconds left. The Warriors would fail to hit a desperation three and made free throws would seal the Bucks win

"They made a push at the end but I got my second wind in the final minutes. I had a couple boards and a put back earlier in the quarter and that got my confidence up so I called for the ball and hit it," McDyess said. McDyess finished with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 1 steal

Baron Davis and Jason Richardson would keep the game close for the Warriors all throughout, with acrobatic drives to the basket and drawing fouls. The two would do much damage from the free throw line but would combine to shoot a horrendous 3-for-13 from three-point range

"They did a good job on D forcing us to take some bad perimeter shots with the shot clock running down. They didn't fall for us. It's disappointing. What else can I say," Davis said. Davis would finish with 28 points, 2 rebounds and 5 assists

As a team the Warriors shot a dismal 27% from the arc while the Bucks shot a sizzling 54% from downtown. With the Bucks up 110-109 and 47 seconds left in the game, former Warrior and littlest man on the court, Earl Boykins, would hit the biggest trey to giving Milwaukee a 113-109 edge

"It's a great win for us and me especially. Anytime you go up against your former teammates there's always that little extra something," Boykins said. Boykins ended the game with 12 points, 2 rebounds and 1 assist

Defensively the Warriors did a decent job against Buck's star Michael Redd, who was held to 9-of-25 shooting. Redd would finish the game with 25 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists. Emerging Center Andris Biedrins had a terrific all-around game and would limit Milwaukee's rookie Center, Akono Tshibaka to 2 rebounds and no points, although he would collect 2 blocks and 1 steal. Tshibaka was selected 4th overall by the Bucks in this year's draft

"Most rookies are pretty nervous their first game. I just made sure to keep the pressure on him," Biedrins said. Biedrins would finish the game with 8 points, 11 rebounds and post a career best 6 blocks. "I wish I would've had just one more in me," Biedrins said regarding McDyess' clutch turn around jumper which sealed the Bucks win

In the end, Golden State would not be able to stop the balanced attack of Milwaukee, led by Charlie Villanueva who would finish with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Andrew Bogut would have an exceptional game going 6-for-6 from the field, ending with 13 points and leading the Bucks with 13 rebounds and one particularly nasty block against Warriors' Rookie, Kevin Olajakundi on his only attempt of the night

"Ah reckon ah welcome the young bloke to the NBA, mate," said Bogut, the #1 draft pick overall in 2005 from Australia

Kenyon Martin would give a solid contribution in his first game as a Warrior but was limited to 14 minutes. Martin would shoot 3-for-3 and finish in strong, impressive fashion

When asked about his health and his playing time Martin said, "I feel great. A little off with my passing but in the paint I feel fine. Minutes? I aint worried 'bout that. Coach knows what he's doing. This aint Denver. I'm still learning the system so I'm cool with it"

Martin would finish with 6 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal and 2 turnovers

Warriors rookie Kevin Olajakundi would play only 5 minutes, having his only field goal attempt blocked and turning the ball over twice but would collecting 1 rebound and 1 assist

"He was nervous, you could tell. As he gets more games under his feet he'll show you what he can do," Coach Nelson said after the game. He added, "We were in this game right down to the final seconds and they hit the tough shots down the stretch. I think our guys were a little too amped up for this one. What'd we shoot, like 2-for-20 from downtown? But I saw a lot of good things out there; once they get these early season jitters out, we'll be fine"

Note: Warriors Guard Monta Ellis would appear to injure his back after a jarring mid-air collison with Bucks Forward, Charlie Villanueva, during the middle of the third quarter but would return from the locker room and enter the game during the fourth and appeared to be okay

Thx 'rulez; oop yeah i guess that was a little unclear; that's the overall team rating, not just starting lineup; the '06-07 GSW's only have a 10 man rotation so injuries scare me big time! i will play them out if/as they happen though; anyway, 'fixed' and hope that clarifies - BD#5

Martin looked pretty good in that last game, but I'd really would start him alongside Harrington (H at center).
In my warriors dynasty, I traded for Villanueva (great fit for me btw who is 80 overall in 2008-2009) and I start him with Harringotn at center, and it gives me 5 3 point shooters (except for harrington reallly who in the game only has a 45 3 point rating....)
