Prom tonight

Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

Ohhh man.. high school prom.. good times. I dug up two pictures from mine a few years ago. I wish I could find the rest of them. I couldn't agree more with whoever said baby blue is a great color to wear with a tux :D I went with black instead of white, though. Don't think I could have pulled off a white tux.

(not sure if it's just Vista or if it's Firefox or what, but they are resized in my browser, so if you click them it opens up the full 800x600 image)

Neither; it's a phpBB hack that prevents the page from being stretched by large images. :)

maybe he just rented car for prom....although looking at the neighbourhood, probably unlikely....doesn't bother me that anyone comes from money, it's the person that matters....

before anyone says, I definitely don't come from money, a lower middle class family of 6 that broke up when I was 12, so sole parent raising like 3 of us on one mediocre salary....

Only poor people say that.

I will pretend that I didn't read the tiny fonts.

I'm not poor now, but not rich by any means either....

for me, I'm glad I didn't get everything I wanted when I grew up & had to wear hand me downs....you also get taught the value of hard work & money....and respect....but I guess that all depends on parents & upbringing, not the bank account balance, the house & the car....

but back on topic....prom eh?!? I didn't score at mine, but that's alright, it's not everything....either way, I had a great night & knocked back a few brews....

I didn't go to prom. I was with my last girlfriend at the time and we went on a trip to this place called Starved Rock instead with 2 of my other friends and their girls. It was a ton more fun then another dumbass high school dance.

We didn't take any pictures, but this is a picture of exactly where we camped out.

Its a pretty nice place that's only about 2 hours from Chicago and very secluded.

well you can't exactly go to the corner rent-a-car service and ask for a Viper... so I'm guessing that it's his (or his family's) car.

I guess I thought you could....then again, I might be basing it from my last holiday where the last place I visited was Vegas....

You won't be able to get one from a basic rent-a-car service, but there are some top notch places that offer more exotic cars... I wouldn't know how much it costs or how one would qualify to rent cars from somewhere like that, though.

And yeah, it (was) a family car (my dad's). Definitely not mine, lol... I can barely afford my current car payment! It was sold a year ago in order to upgrade to an '06 coupe, though  When I took that car (was a '02 RT/10) to prom, it was so exciting... the feeling is really unexplainable. Almost sorta felt like a celebrity - I would rather take a nice car than a limo or party bus any day.

Indy, what exactly did you do at that place? Did you just camp out in the woods somewhere, or is there a lot of stuff to do there?
