5000!

Postby Andrew on Tue Sep 16, 2003 11:22 pm

Since I post a lot I don't usually acknowledge milestones in my post count. However, I'm the first to reach 5000 posts in either forum, and it's as good a time as any to thank the community for continuing to support the NLSC.

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone who continues to make a positive contribution to the forum. Your interest in the NLSC and the forum are much appreciated, and it's great to see people willing to share patches, information and stories about NBA Live, debate NBA related topics, or post about whatever here in General Talk. A special thanks to everyone who does their best to always follow the rules.

I'd also like to mention some names. My apologies if I don't mention you, it's nothing personal. :)

Tim, who gave me this position and has been a great help over the years. I couldn't have a better role model for being webmaster of this site. I've got some pretty big shoes to fill, hopefully I'm on the right track.

Brien, whose work on FshEd and EAGE has made patchmaking much easier. He's also been a lot of help over the years.

Lutz, who is a great example of how not taking things too seriously while still putting in a lot of effort makes for a good webmaster. Thanks for all the help Lutz, and I hope when you're not too busy you can drop by the forum once in a while.

Yohance, for his help in moderating the forum and his willingness to contribute to discussions, be it helping with a problem or simply posting his opinions. Thanks Thug! (Y)

Tales, a veteran from the old forum and a great member of the community. It's great to have you around Tales. "LOL :D"

Stevan, whose enthusiasm is most welcome and appreciated. Thanks to my fellow Bulls fan. (Y)

Matthew/NBA_Fan_23, who isn't shy about voicing his opinions in NBA Talk. Shame about Spree, Matt.

Shane, for continuing to grace us with his presence. Shane doesn't patch as often as he used to, but he's still around for the General Forums. You should let us see some more of your latest writings, Shane. :P

EG, a mature and level-headed individual who always makes a positive contribution.

Eugene and Dr P., who haven't been around recently. Two individuals who are great to have around in the General Forums.

Nick, who joined the old forum late in its existence and has established himself as a friendly, helpful and valuable member of the community.

Returning veterans and guys who are always up for a discussion. In no particular order: stack42, Robby, limpdilznik, Laddas_KB8, Kobe4mvp, Psycho_Jackal, kobes_4real, Scary Hedo, alexboom, joemimic, Martin, Jowe, cocobee, Finnboy, Andreas Dahl, Metsis, ruffryder8, mp3, Bredrin, MJForever, Vins15, scubilete, colin826, Swoosh, and gloveguy.

A big thanks to all the patchmakers, especially those who are willing to contribute to our Downloads Database. If you've ever released a patch, then this thanks is for you. Special thanks to guys such as Travis Lee and the members of AWR, and the LiveDesign team.

Tony. Despite our past differences, I cannot understate his contribution and importance to the community, nor his talent with graphics. I'm sorry for my role in our argument, I hope we can let bygones be bygones.

The guys from nbalive.org: Ben, Rens, Steve-o/Dr Seth, Liam, David/DreamSpeaker/LegoSHAQ, Dmitri and Santiago "Kq" Roza.

I can't think of any more names, but again, thanks to everyone who continues to contribute to the online NBA Live community. I hope you'll stick around a while longer. :)

:bday:

Cheers Andrew.(Y)

It's times like these when BIG CHANGES need to be made to commemorate these events, cos they dont happen everyday...
So, What have you got in store for us Andrew? :proud:

BTW, i'd like to take this moment (seeing as i was planning to make a thread about it soon anyway) to thank Andrew and Yohance for their Moderating. I know it's hard to be constantly setting examples, keeping your cool and keeping everybody together... you catch flame wars out before they arise every time, you gotta give some respect for that. :applaud: No i'm not crawling up their arse...they just deserve some props for the garbage work they do to keep this place friendly... (Y)

i'd say thanks (Y) Andrew for running this site on your spare time, and damn, I know the time it takes to manage it by running Alexsite

Without you the NBA Live community (and what remains of the Live 2000 community :) ) would have a big lack to fill

You've only been signed up since June, late June, so you're not in the position to be mentioned, and definitly not to complain about it, I was surprised I was mentioned.

Sorry Old School Fool, nothing personal. As I said, the shoutout was for everyone, but I thought I'd try to mention some names.

Actually, there is one name I left out and I feel bad about it since I've known him for nearly 2 decades and he's family. A special shoutout to my cousin Clinton, who is a little too busy to post a lot right now but hopefully will be back for the start of the new season and NBA Live 2004. (Y)
