NBA live 08 PC

Talk about NBA Live 08 here.

Well, in case there's no PC release, there's not much we can do... :(
But yeah, hopefully they'll recognize this community as a loyal customer base and a good source of feedback.

It could just be a matter of gaming being so console-orientated these days that the PC version is considered unworthy of a mention...or perhaps just an oversight.

I wouldn't make too much of a fuss over it. If it's available at the EA store, I think it's safe to say there will be a pc version. After us having to petitioning for a patch for 07, I don't think they would like to see another petition in 08, it would be bad publicity.

It probably is an oversight, seeing as the Xbox version wasn't mentioned, either.

For me the gameplay is the most important thing! I hope that it won't suck like in previous years!

Notice how they didn't even mention the Xbox.

EA isn't releasing any more games for Xbox, no madden, live, nhl, etc. Get 360 or play live 07 on xbox.

Neither is mine, but all new computers are, and most computers used for games are as well.

What? When did they announce this? Why PS2 and no XBox?

it hasnt been announced but there are no more games coming out for the original xbox. March Madness 07 didnt come out on it, neither did the EA Baseball game this year.

http://xbox.ign.com/index/release.html thats from IGN

IGN barely updates the xbox section and gamespot.com pretty much has dropped it completely. Here is an article about it from a while ago.

I think it's a good thing that the Xbox version has been phased out. That means they have more time for the rest of them, specifically the pc version.

in theory that makes sense, but MM07 was only released on the PS2 and well....I'd say it's as good as Live 2002. It has its moments...but really :? meh

Not really, because the PC version is a port of the xbox version.

It is obvious by looking on the jerseys. These shiny jerseys are from the Xbox.

There's been no news on the Current Gen version for any platform just yet. Given that their focus is on Next Gen I expect many of the initial previews will be Xbox 360 and PS3 related, with Current Gen info coming along eventually.

But that doesn't make sense... wouldn't it be easier to port from one MS platform to the other?

To some degree yes, the original X-Box runs on Windows CE which is an extremely stripped down version of Windows 2000.

However, untill just a year and a half ago the average PC* didn't have the hardware to keep up with the X-Box**. In fact, if you check on any Oblivion message boards(a game where the pc version is a direct port of the x-box game)many people's computers still aren't even up to current-gen horsepower yet. The average PC caught up to the lesser powered PS2 less than a year after it's release.

*note: by average pc i mean the average computer most people had in their homes, not the highest-end overclocked machine available.
**keeping in mind the average PC(read above)uses a lot of it's memory and CPU running the OS, virus protection, messenger, aim, and dozens of other programs in the background. Consoles dedicate nearly all resources to gaming and just gaming.

P.S. Looking forward to seeing how you twist my words around this time.

How I wish they would stick with current gen for PC. So that I won't upgrade. :P graphics isn't really the problem.. It's gameplay. I'd rather have low quality graphics with better gameplay than the other way around.

Who wants to bet NBA Live 08 will have more bugs than NBA Live 07?

I'd hope not, after all the drama and negative press last year.

The gameplay is the top priority but I wouldn't say I won't care if the graphics were the same.

It's just crazy that the game looks 90% the same for the past 3 years or even more... the models are about the same the the moves are tweaked a bit every year but never the less stay the same old thing.

One more thing I find annoying about the moves is that all the dunks/lay-ups are in slow-motion, although EA brings NBA superstar every year for the mo-cap they end up with unrealistic and slow moves.
