famous people you've met.

Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

Ive met a few NBL players lol.

Ive also met Mr Olympia Jay Cutler and top 5 bodybuilder Dexter Jackson.

Ive met Milan GK Zjelko Kalac. His wife taught my brother in HS. And my parents found his wallet during a stroll and called him up...he came around to our place to pick it up lmao....true story...he used to live in prospect. The funny part is my parents are croatian and had no idea about who he was

I've seen a few "famous" people, but I don't go up to them, nor do I wish to, as they're just normal people like you or I....I don't need their autographs or to bother them....the only time I've talked to a "famous" person was at a pub in Christchurch when New Zealand dual gold medallist Danyon Loader poured me a scooner of the pub's local brew....our interchange was:

DL: "What can I get for you?"
Me: "A scooner of [some type of beer]"
[DL pours the beer]
DL: "That's [price of beer]"
[I give him money, he gives me change]
Me: "Thanks"

My dads cousin was on worlds strongest man. I've met Nene at the Colorado Mills Mall, Broncos' Nick Ferguson came to our school for pep assembly, talked to Kleiza a few times before games, and once I've dialed a wrong phone number and got connected to Bill Owens, former Colorado Governor.

I've never seen a single famous person in my life.

Nobody is going to come to where I live - the middle of nowhere.

But once I'm at UNC this fall, I'll get to meet all the basketball players before they go pro, which will be awesome.

I'm curious, how do you get people like Ray Allen or Jim Jones to come to your school or a pep rally?

Someone's got to have connections or a lot of money. The reason our school got Chad Johnson to come is because a student's dad is the Director of Player Relations. Chad is really something special. He predicticted he would have a huge day against New Orleans and he ended up having 190 yards.

I've met all the players that have played on the Pacers since 2000 or so, most of the players from the teams before that. Sometimes I ask guys to autograph their jersey, but for the most part I don't like autographs. I'd much rather talk to them and have a conversation. Players love nothing more then when you remember plays they've made and talk to them about it.

I have some great player stories.

Ron is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. Believe it or not, Stephen Jackson is on that list as well.

Not so nice guys include Sarunas Jasikevicius and Austin Croshere.

yeah Kelly Hu is pretty fuckin hot.

I would imagine Ron & Jax as nice guys despite the bad press they get. the media's all bullshit anyways, as I have learned with Ricky Davis. Next time I get the chance, I'll talk to a player instead of ask for an autograph...
I'm a Jasikevicius fan, I'm disappointed that he doesn't treat fans better.

Maybe Sarunas didn't adjust well to the new culture that why he doesn't treat the fans better.
As for Croshere, you would be pretty pissed too after having a great showing (2000 Pacers w/Bird) and the next thing you know you're threading the line between playable and scrub (Isiah's Pacers) after a few seasons.

Well, Sarunas was a monster star in Europe, and that's the way he acted here too. He would just be standing there point blank and completely ignore you when you talked to him. He's the only player I've ever seen do that.

Please. Austin got a huge contract after his playoff performance in 2000. He was a starter after that and played himself out of that role and on to the bench. He just didn't live up to his contract, that's his own fault.

Wow. Ever tried saying "jerk" to him when he does that to you or the other fans?

Every time I saw him I tried to talk to him. Every time I would say something like "well, great talkin to you Sarunas." Or something like that. Never even a response in his face. I don't know if he just tunes people out, or if he chose to not pay attention.
