So I´m here with a new Dynasty. My 3rd one. You may know me .. I thought my Knicks Dynasty for 06 had pretty much readers. I quit with the Hawks one because I did not like the team too much.
This time I´ve chosen the Clippers. The number two of L.A.. But I want to change that definitely.
The game will start from the beginning of the 07/08 season.
I will post quite accurately what happened last season. Not too sure if it might follow today.
So this is what you can expect:

 82 Game 07/08 season
 Usually 4th quarter intervention/important matches completely
 Andrew´s latest Roster & Jimmy´s Gamefix sliders (both tweaked)
 Real Rookies (Thanks to RyanP & his crew)
 Realism; very important for me personally
 Weekly updates; reports while boring weeks

I hope everyone following this will post in it every now and then because I love to hear opinions on my playing style/managing style. Actually that is what makes it fun for me. Please consider that I will make this for fun but may not be able to update it that regularly.
Thanks to all the patchers. I have to say although I like 07 I think without patches it is pretty unplayable. I also thought of continuing my 06 Knicks dynasty (still got the save) but actually I do not have the jerseys and logos and the court anymore. I hope you enjoy this one.

Not a bad choice(though I hate Clipps in real life, you know I'm a total Lakers fan), the biggest thing I'm excited about is that it's 07/08, I'd like to see who you drafted...

This will definitely be great. I recently read through your entire Knicks dynasty, and loved it. Playoffs are a realistic goal. Make up for the joke that was the 2006-07 season for the Clip Show!

was not only an very exciting season but also made history. At the end of the season we had four teams tied at a 36-46 record. All of them in the Eastern Conference. And only one Playoff spot left. So the head-to-head record against each other had to decide wether the Celtics, Bulls, Bucks or the Sixers would clinch the berth. And the Celtics made it.
Other than that the season was interesting but not really suprising. The current Champ Miami was also the best team in regular season followed by the Suns, the Spurs, Pistons and Houston. Also the weakest teams with Charlotte, New York and Portland were kind of predictable. Portland had very bad luck with injuries. Zach Randolph was only able to play 45 games, Jamal Magloire only 58 and also Darius Miles missed 20 games. More suprising though was the role the Lakers played. Kobe Bryant was the league´s topscorer once again with 28.7 points per game but his Lakers were not able to win more than 34 games which took him out of the Race to MVP quite early. So this Award was just a race between the two best players of the best teams. The Spurs´ Tim Duncan had an amazing season leading the Spurs to the 2nd best record. He brought 25.1 ppg, 11.3 rpg, 3.7 apg, 2.63 bpg and 1.41 spg to the table and shot .54% from the field. The other player? Actually there was no other. Teams like the Suns, Heat, Pistons shouldered the weight on more players and were able to convince as a collective. So TD took home this award almost without any competetors.
Chris Paul won the Most Improved Player award although the Hornets were again not able to make the Playoffs. 20.8 ppg, 8.3 apg and 2.04 spg were enough for the judges to honor CP3.
Shawn Marion was able to take home his first Defensive Player Of The Year award. He not only grabbed 10.5 rpg but also blocked 2.5 shots per game and had 2.25 thefts per game with only 2 fouls in average.
Rookie Of The Year became Bradon R.O.Y.. He could not help the Blazers to clinch a playoff spot although he averaged 17.5 ppg, 3.3 rpg and 5.0 apg.
The best 6th man was suprisingly Nene. Although the Brazilian Nugget did only score 6.6 ppg he got the award, mainly because of his defense (6.6 rpg/1.4BPG in only 20 mpg).
Gilbert Arenas led the league in assists per game with 10.6 and also was 2nd in scoring with 27.7.
Another big emergency was the trade of LaMarcus Aldridge in exchange for Andrea Bargnani which was the Nr.2 pick for the Nr.1 pick. Aldridge missed 30 games but the Raptors were still able to reach the Playoffs. Two other interesting trades were executed during regular season. Anderson Varejao of the Cavs was dealt to the Blazers in exchange for Ime Udoka.
The Mavs gave up DeSagana Diop in order to get Joey Graham of the Raptors. Also Ike Diogu (IND) and Rashad McCants (MIN) changed their uniforms.

had a pretty mediocre regular season. The start into the season was very unfortunate and the November record did not really give great expectations for the rest of the season (6-8). While December and January were pretty even the Clippers finally managed to start a streak before the All Star Weekend. And even after this break (Tyrus Thomas winning the Slam Dunk Contest/East beating the West by 2) the Clippers were able to end the month strongly with a 9-3 record.
After a positve March (10-6) the Playoffs seemed to be pretty reachable with a 40-35 record. But when Elton Brand, the team´s MVP injured his achilles tendon hard the Clippers were only able to win 6 of the finale 7 games and were lucky to make the playoffs with only one win more than the Kings. But one thing was clear, Elton Brand would not be able to participate in the playoffs ... again against the Phoenix Suns. A big shock for the Clippers limiting their chances to almost zero. The Clippers were also offered two deals which they accepted during regular season. One trade brought them C Calvin Booth in exchange for G Daniel Ewing. The other deal swapped over G Allen Ray from the Celtics in exchange for PF Paul Davis. Take a look at the regular season standings & Clipper stats below.

were everything but not successfull for the Clippers. With the Suns they were facing the 2nd best team of the regular season. And with Elton Brand out they were not able to win a game against the Suns. A unspectacular 4-0 sweep, again knocked out against Phoenix. other series were very interesting and close. Especially Golden State and Denver were able to suprise.
In the Conference Semi-Finals both were kicked out though and the Conference Finals were just like what everybody had predicted. The Heat were on a big run and everybody thought they could easily win against the Pistons. The Suns and the Spurs series was kind of tied and unpredictable. Suprisingly the Pistons easily closed out their series and the Suns won a thrilling 7 game series.
The Suns played the better offensive basketball and were also able to make big defensive stopps against a slow and a bit tired Pistons team. Steve Nash was able to find his A-game after a weaker regular season (only 8.5 apg). He got the Finals MVP award with 20.2 ppg and 9.5 apg.

Interesting story. The standings are realistic with some exceptions, such as Celtics, Bulls, etc. The season for Clippers was pretty good, they managed to go to playoffs, and did some deals, I like them.

Phoenix winning the crown is also realistic, but Dallas were defeated in the 1st round :(

Looking forward for the offseason.

3PK, Thank you, glad you like it. Well I think Mobley is not too weak, look around in the league and you see you will not find so many shooting guards with his ratings. Just wait for the offseason update and you will see. ;)

looser, thank you. Yes, gaming with my Clippers is really fun, I like them very much as a team to play.

Marquis, thank you, well you have to see that Paul Pierce had an awesome season (I think 26.5 ppg) without any injuries. I think that would have been possible in real life with him playing like that. Bulls are unrealistic thats right. And Dallas :( just like in real life : :? :|

Sacke12, thank you, its the 19th pick.

WhoElseCouldItB, thx, I think these three are the keys, but Sam and Shaun have something in there, too.

JJ_Weir, you hate the Clipps ? At least you like Brand. thx for your comment 8-)

Xiphias, haha, thx. Im sure you will make it with the Mavs, my goals are a bit below :D

Scoop, thank you. Naahhh, he wont be traded .. he will do well when I play with him, because I love inside scorers. He lost his power star ability though, because of the injury he sustained :(

JJ_Weir, thx for your comment, dont talk like that about Cassell, he has still the best shot on my team and as long as he doesnt retire he will stay a Clipper fo´ sho´ ;)

Big thanks youre really motivating me even more, never had so many comments after my first post :)

"And as the Number one pick, the Charlotte Bobcats choose ... Greg Oden from the University of Ohio". Wuthering applause as a young, shy adulescent stands up and makes his way to NBA commissioner David Stern.
The tall youngster takes the cap and just says what everybody wants to hear. That he cannot believe he had been chosen at one. That he loves the team and will give his best for it.
Can´t believe?
Actually it was pretty obvious that Greg Oden will be drafted at number one. A 7-0 tall young big man with the ability to block shots and to post up. But also very agile around the basket. Something we have not seen the last 10 drafts of the NBA.
Loves the team?
Might be a bit exaggerated although he seemed to have prepared for the Cats who are coming from another lottery season, maybe the lottery that will change the whole next decade. Actually Oden´s number one pick was the only thing that did not suprise this night. Kevin Durant, arguably the best Forward in the whole draft and the only player who was competing with Oden for the first pick went down to five. Everybody seemed to be shocked a bit. The Hornets were not. And can now say they drafted the player with the biggest potential of all. Another suprise was Yi Jianlian. The chinese big man was under the top 5 prospects. But actually no team wanted to have a mini-Yao on their roster. The Wizards did so and their frontcourt might get a better boost than expected with pick number 16.
And what about Jeff Green, Corey Brewer and Roy Hibbert? All those top 10 guys were drafted way later. Hibbert went to the Clippers. At 19. General Manager Chris Hov, who also took over the coaching of the team cheered like a schoolgirl when he was able to get Hibbert. "Just what we wanted, a solid froncourt player who can give us defense and has also room to grow". The next best big man to Oden, Joakim Noah was grabbed by Isaiah Thomas quickly. He can play Power Forward which is still a spot on the Knicks roster without any starting-type player.
Atlanta earned some laughter when they drafted Marc Gasol. We all remember when they drafted his brother Pau and traded him to Memphis , actually the worst deal in Hawks history. But they won´t do it again. The Grizzlies themselves chose Al Horford. The Power Forward has maybe the best body of all draftees, so fast and strong, NBA-ready. The Champ, the Suns can also be very happy. With the number 30 pick they were able to steal Morris Almond who fits perfectly into their run-and-gun system like Joe Johnson and Quentin Richardson did. So exept the number one pick we can really say this draft was kind of crazy. Not as crazy as the trading draft last year, but still weird enough to make it into the history books.

Image

drafted Roy Hibbert and Marco Belinelli. Roy Hibbert is a big man with a very soft shot. He can easily hit 15-20 footers. His freethrow shooting is excellent. His size of 7-2 allows him to block shot easily. He is quite clever and knows what he can. A good rebounder. Strong character.
He still has to work on his body, he is strong enough but his athleticism is only average. Has problems against quicker centers. Not the best one-on-one defender. His role on the team will be to rebound and give a rest to Chris Kaman. He also has to try to bring his mid-range jumper into the game. Together with Eltron Brand he can be a handful for defenders due to their variability.
Marco Belinelli was predicted to be drafted way before number 49. He has excellent ball handling skills. His shot especially of the dribble is simply awesome. He can distribute the ball and play a mature game. His quick release on shot causes problems for his opponents. His athelticism is above average and he knows how to use. On defense he anticipates very well. He needs to learn to attack the basket more often. His one-on-one defense is not the best because of his weak lateral quickness. His stamina is only average and he has definitely to work on his strenght.

Miami to shake things up
The Miami Heat have announced that they will try to shake things up after their disappointing end of the season against the Detroit Pistons.
Contracts of Alonzo Mourning and James Posey have not been extended.
Only Eddie Jones may get a new contract. Also rumours are spreading that the Heat are willed to sign an athletic swingman when someone will be available on the market.

Hill hoping for contract
Orlando Magic veteran Grant Hill whose contract expired this season is hoping to strike a new deal with the Magic. "I like it here very much and I think I will still be able to help the team. I will not retire since I do really have fun and my body gave me a good time last season. Hill averaged 14.6 points on a .45% shooting last season when the Magic were the 3rd last team in the Eastern Conference.

Nocioni leaves Bulls
Andres Nocioni and the Chicago Bulls were not able to agree on a new deal for the next season. The Argentinian forward will test the free agent market this summer. The Olympic gold medal winner averafed 13.4 points , 7 rebounds and 3.4 assists for the Bulls last season.

Carter up to resign
Vince Carter and the New Jersey Nets want to talk about a new contract. Both sides have never made talks about Carter leaving the club and there should not be any problems to find an agreement. Carter was carrying his Nets to the Playoffs with 26.0 points per game where they failed in the Conference Semi Finals against Detroit.
