 Carmelo has had a breakthrough start this season! Already averaging 31.0 points a game in just 5 games, he has certainly led his team to this recent undefeated streak. His 53-point game against Minnesota was just the beginnin of this young kids bright bright future. And with veterans like Marcus Camby and Kenyon martin behind him in the frontcourt, Carmelo will have a higly talented group to lead to a possible NBA Championship! Give it up for Carmelo as he is your Denver Nugget Player of the Week!

News from the Denver locker room is that the Nuggets are looking for a consistant outside scorer. As released from the Nuggets GM, Jon Soto, "Vashon Lenard just isn't the same anymore. He still has shot but we're looking for a star who has great outside shooting skills. We have Carmelo,Camby, Martin and Nene on the inside and I think its about time we give them a break by adding on a deadly and consistant 3-point shooter. That's why, the Nuggets organization has discussed sending out offers to two individuals who excel at 3-point shooting:

Image |Kyle Korver| 6'7"| 211lbs| 26 Years Old| Shooting Guard|
 2004-05:
Second NBA Season (Philadelphia)… Averaged 11.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 82 games (57 starts)… Set the franchise single-season record for three-point field goals made (226) and attempted (558)… Had streak of 25-straight games with a three pointer end vs. Phoenix (3/30), the second-best streak in franchise history… Became the first 76ers player to lead the NBA in three-point field goals made (226), tying Quentin Richardson (PHO)... Also ranked among league leaders in threepoint field goals attempted (3rd, 558) and percentage (18th, .405)… One of only two Sixers players to play in every game this season (Andre Iguodala)... Made the game-winning field goal vs. Indiana (1/31) with 6.5 seconds remaining… Hit a three-pointer as time expired at New Orleans (1/28) to force overtime… Connected on a career-best seven three-point field goals vs. Indiana (11/12), scoring 23 points; with 3.7 seconds remaining, connected on a 27-foot three-pointer to send the game to overtime… Made four or more three-pointers 27 times (18-9)… Scored 20 or more points four times… Had four double-doubles… Had a career-high 11 rebounds at Cleveland (3/18)… For the second- straight season, participated in the Foot Locker Three-Point Shootout at NBA All-Star Weekend, finishing second overall… Scored 21 points (7-10 3FG) in the got milk? Rookie Challenge All-Star weekend... PLAYOFFS… Made first NBA Playoff appearance… Averaged 5.0 points and 2.6 rebounds in 29.4 minutes per game… Shot 28.6 percent overall (8-28 FG) and 29.2 percent from long range (7-24 3FG).

Image |Mike Miller| 6'8"| 218lbs| 27 Years Old| Guard/Forward|
 Finished fourth in the NBA in three-point percentage with a career-high 43.3% • Had 10+ points 52 times, 20+ points 14 times and 30+ points twice • Led the team in scoring 14 times, in rebounds five times, and in assists 11 times • Grizzlies went 29-22 in Miller’s 51 starts • Hit a game-winning buzzer beater on Apr. 18 vs. San Antonio • Scored a career-high 37 points, the most by a Grizzlie this season, on April 13 against Houston • Scored 21 points on 8-15 shooting, including 5-8 from three-point range, on April 10 versus Charlotte • Scored 30 points, including 5-10 from three-point range, tying season-highs for three-point makes and attempts on Apr. 8 vs. Miami • Made at least one three-point field goal in 13 straight games from January 25 through February 25 • Scored 28 points off the bench on January 26 @ Cleveland • Made two or more three-pointers in nine consecutive games from December 7-20, shooting 55.8% from downtown in that span • Scored 25 points on 10-14 shooting, including 3-5 from three-point range, on November 30 versus Sacramento

Hopefully, we get one of the two because we desperately need help shooting outside and we need to give Carmelo an extra option from the field."

*Sidenote: The reason I chose the two was because I love Mike Miller as a player and I think he can do well with my style of play with the Nuggets and I also think he deserves better than the Grizzlies. Kyle Korver was thrown in their because my little cousin LOVES him and admires him and wants to see Korver have an excellent career. But honestly I want to get Miller.

And it has been done folks! The Denver Nuggets and the Memphis Grizzlies has finally come up with an acceptable trade option that suits both teams needs on the team. Watch as we take you closely to how they came to the agreement:

11/6/05
 Denver discusses trade negotiations with Memphis about the unhappy Mike Miller.
11/7/05
 Memphis rejects! Denver restructures trade negotiations with Miller who WANTS out of Memphis quick!
11/8/05
 Memphis accepts! Denver to trade in a 3 for 2 deal putting Fransisco Elson, Vashon Lenard and Earl Boykins in deal.
11/9/05
 George Karl hears about acceptance and forms a deadly 9-man roation for their new line-up and strategy.
11/10/05
 Deal officially done. Small Forward, Mike Miller and Point Guard, Raul Lopez arrive in Denver to their new home.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

11/11 @ Minnesota
 Primary Shooter- Kevin Garnett
 Secondary Shooter- Wally Szcerbiak
--------------------------------------------------------------------
 Strengths- Frontcourt
 Weaknesses- Backcourt
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Coaches Strategy- The Wolves will be looking for revenge on their lost against us a few weeks back. But with this newly aquired lineup I think the score will highly in our favor. Can't put my money on it but im pretty sure of it! Mike Miller on Rashad McCants is a no bariner, Miller has the experience and talent over McCants so there should be no problem in that department. Other than that, everything we did the first meeting should still be done. Double Garnett like crazy, and make Wally's World a living nightmare. Camby is a much better player than Olowakandi so there should still be no shockers in our Center battle. I think we can set up Carmelo for yet another excellent game.

--------------------------------------------------------------------
11/11 @ Minnesota
 Post-Game Wrap-Up*NEW*: Well this was a matchup worth seeing folks! I mean the Timberwolves just absolutely gave the Nuggets everything they had, literally! They through every piece of arsenal they had but obviously it wasn't enough to stop the red hot Nuggets as in the final seconds Carmelo hit Camby with an assist to finish it all. Melo finished the game with 32 points! That's now 3 of his last 6 games in which Carmelo passed the 30+ point mark! Impressive. Defensively the Nuggets had the Timberwolves' back to the wall. Camby and Nene led the way with a total of 10 blocks and Martin adding 2 more in the mix. This game was just downright excellent for all Minnesota and Denver fans. Denver will now look to go through the weekend and prepare for AI and Philadelphia 76ers!

*Sidenote- Post Game Wrap-Ups will done only for important games!*

 Marcus Camby has sure been the reliable source on defense when needed as you can tell by last weeks game against Minnesota. Camby has started off on the right track and has certainly raised his defensive presence on the team. Although tensions have been rising between him and Martin, Camby has been he big man and has stepped up his game and not let his situation with K-Mart interfere with his defensive responsibilites. I can already sense Defensive Player of the Year this year. Here he is folks! Your Denver Nugget of the game!
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Image

As stated in the section above, the bad blood between Camby and Martin has risen. Risen to the point where a fist fight broke out during practice which resulted in both men being fined a substantial amount of money. George Karl and GM Jon Soto has been discussing it and has been forced by David Stern to immediately end this one way or the other. Jon Soto and George Karl responded by putting Kenyon Martin on the Trade block after several attempts to end the fued between the two. The new player in sight: Steve Francis of the Orlando Magic!

Image|Steve Francis| PG/SG| 6'3"| 195lbs.| 6 Years Pro|
 Played and started in 78 games for Orlando, averaging team-best 21.3 ppg., team-best and career-high 7.0 apg., 5.8 rpg. and 1.44 stlpg. in team-best 38.2 minpg.…Shot career-high .823 (499-606) from the free throw line…Ranked seventh in the NBA in assists, 18th in scoring, 20th in minutes played and 22nd in steals…Led (or tied) the team in scoring a team-best 38 times, in rebounding four times and in assists a team-high 63 times…Scored in double figures a team-best 75 times, including season-high 36 points on Dec. 10 @ Golden State…Scored 20-plus points 44 times and 30-plus points 12 times…Had 21 double-doubles…Recorded season-high-tying 13 assists three times, the last on Feb. 1 vs. Cleveland…Had 32 points, season-high 13 rebounds and eight assists on Feb. 12 @ Philadelphia…Had at least one steal in 59 games…Had two or more steals 29 times, including season-best six steals on Nov. 14 @ Philadelphia…Scored game-winning baskets five times during the season, including game-winning layup with 0.2 seconds remaining on Nov. 3 vs. Milwaukee in Magic debut…Appeared in his 400th regular season game on Dec. 27 vs. New York…Scored 8,000th point of his career on Jan. 18 vs. Detroit…Missed three games (Mar. 19, 21, 24) due to an NBA suspension…Did not play on Apr. 16 due to a sore lower back.

*Personal Note: This would be decent trade as I need a good strong shooting guard/point guard because those are our weakest positions. Julius Hodge is good but he's more of Defensive player and I need Mike Miller on the bench to keep the scoring tempo the same. And the combo of Melo and the Franchise would be a nice one to see.*

--------------------------------------------------------------------

11/15 @ Philadelphia
 Primary Shooter- A. Iverson
 Secondary Shooter- A. Iguodala

--------------------------------------------------------------------
 Strengths- Backcourt
 Weaknesses- frontcourt

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Coaches Strategy- The Sixer have 3 main targets on offense. Iverson, Iguodala and Korver. Korver is pretty much JUST a shooter so if we D him up all day his 3's will be useless. Iggy is young but is one hell of a dunker. We need to get physical with him so we wont get passed our defense. I think Melo can take him and play him all period long. And last Iverson, Its going to be hard to cover him but we gotta try, Andre Miller is quick enough to slow him down and Raul Lopez cna finish the job by tiring him out. We need to make sure that everyone else on the Sixers team is forced to score and make plays for themselves. Other than that, we're pretty much set for this game. Carmelo is ready for another 30 point game and the Franchise is ready to play his first game as a Nugget.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
 Premiere Matchup- Allen Iverson VS. Andre Miller
--------------------------------------------------------------------

11/19 Vs. Golden State
 Primary Shooter- Jason Richardson
 Secondary Shooter- Baron Davis

--------------------------------------------------------------------
 Strengths- Backourt
 Weaknesses- Frontcourt

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Coaches Strategy- The Warriors. Nothing much to say about them really. Theyre only 2 threats are Baron Davis and Jaso nRichardson, luckily for us, Baron is injured and Derek Fisher will be taking his spot. So most of the scoring WILL be done by Fisher and Richardson. If we stop those from doing anything spectacular, than we pretty much will have the Warriors' backs to the walls. No strategy neededfor this team, just play hard and force the frontcourt to shoot.

Not a fan of Francis or Martin, but both of them are fairly good in the game despite their massive contracts. Francis' contract is one year shorter than Martin's I think, so the trade isn't that bad.

From an NBA Live standpoint, Martin is an insane rebounder, shotblocker and dunker. Francis is also a good dunker, playmaker and fairly good shooter even though he sucks ass at shooting in rea life.

thanks for the input. the reason why i traded martin was because the offense im running doesnt usually go through my big men and i dint want to waste martins time on my team, plus, nene can grab major Offensive boards for me which i need and also shot block, Camby can do the shot blocking and grabbing boards as well, and now that i have Kasun (whose real purpose is to grab boards) i dint really see the use for martin. yeah he can gimme easy inside the paint points but if i run that scorer PF for Nene or Camby or maybe Kasun then i still got myself a "Kenyon Martin" on the team.
