The Newly Assembled Staff of the New Jersey Nets begins work today. The 7 members are seated around a table. Each has their laptop and clipboard in front of them. At the moment it is silent however. The staff is hard at work llooking for players to fill out a 15-man roster they will take into training camp and exhibition. The team has needs at just big men now, however, the Net's two back court stars, Jason Kidd and Vince Carter are rapidly nearing retirement. So the team also looks to add youth to an aging squad. Slowly, throughout the week names will trickle in. Now, however, it is silent.

The front office of the New Jersey Nets have just completed a trade that would send SF Jorge Garbajosa, #1 pick Andrea Bargnani, and PG Jose Calderon. The three European imports have been treasured by the Nets for their shooting and passing abilities. The Nets will give up former Toronto star Vince Carter, rookie PG Marcus Williams, and reserve C Mikki Moore.

The Magic and Nets GMs have just shook hands on a deal sending Jameer Nelson to East Rutherford. Trade talks arouse after Jason Kidd threatened retirement and PG-in-waiting Jose Manuel Calderon lost value after losing his temper and committing 7 turnovers in an exhibition game against Boston. The complete sends Nelson, PF Pat Garrity, and SG Kieth Bogans to New Jersey while giving the Magic Jorge Garbajosa, and Calderon.

Giving up Carter so easily and to Toronto of all places? That's an interesting move.

I would've liked to see Calderon be given another opportunity; he's a fairly solid back-up in Live and comes for cheap.

I like Keith Bogans and Nelson though, so I can't really complain that much.

carter trade cuz projected 20th pick is great SG shooter, aiming for him (Casey Oleary),

calderon is too slow for my team, not good enough scorer.

Nelson is the PG of future bogans is short term replacement for carter.

Preview: Kidd is traded during off-season!

Good luck with the dynasty m8 (Y)
Although i'm not 2 sure bout the carter trade because in total you lost carter a all-star, Marcus Williams a solid Back-up PG, Jose Colderon a young player with a bit of potential and Jorge Garbajosa a Good offensive player for Bargani a good pick-up probably compensates for not having Garbajosa and Moore and you got Bogans IMO a Terrible pick-up as well as Jameer Nelson a Young player with a solid back-up game. So how do these trades make your team better

Or you could summarise it like this....

Acquire
Garrity (Poor)
Bogans (Poor)
Nelson (average player with good potential)
Bargani (Average player with excellent potential)

lose
Carter (present Superstar)
Jorge Garbajosa (average player)
Jose Calderon (Poor player with potential)
Miki Moore (poor)
Marcus Williams (average player with good potential)

Well anyway back to the reason i wrote a comment  good luck with your dynasty mate hope it goes goodd can't wait foor the 1st recap (Y)

aqcuire:
garrity (great shooter)
bogans (good shooter)
nelson (all-around pg)
bargnani (shooter, young)

lost
Carter (old + I've scouted SG in draft)
Garbajosa (SF, I have RJ)
Calderon (a poor mans J-Kidd)
Moore (poor)
Williams (Nelson is an upgrade)

You have to evaluate the trades in context. It doesn't matter if I lose Calderon and Williams because I gain Nelson. I have no use for Garbajosa because I have Richard Jefferson. I gain Bogans for a short term replacement until the next draft. Bargnani and Garrity are great big men shooters, as is Krstic. J-Kidd has lots of players to pass to knock down open shots.

yeh ur probably right i just didn't like that trade to improve ur present side but because your getting a SG in he draft that will make your team much better yeh u put it into a better context although i don't like bogans as a starting SG without a back up oh well good luck in your first game i will be following this dynasty (Y)

well kool then. you are playing on PC? if so, will you be using the draft patch?

and also, you proabably wouldnt do this, but you will get more followers if you add NLSC people into the draft....just a thought
