Blazers fall apart in 4th to start the season 0-2

It was mainly a basket for basket game, until the last quarter.

1st Qtr:
The Blazers won the tip, and Randolph scored on the Blazers 1st possesion. it ws looking like this game would be a different result compared to the Houston game. The lead didnt last long, as J.R Smith was on fire early, scoring the Hornets 1st 9 points on the way to a 9-6 lead. Bogut was playing well, scoring 6 points in the 1st few minutes. Randolph missed 2 free throws to try and cut the gap to 2. The Blazers started to heat up towards the end of the quarter, going on a 9-2 run and tieing the score at 19 with 1 minute left in the quarter.
The Hornets lead by 2 at quarter time. 23-21

2nd Qtr:
Hornets got off to a good start, going to a 7 point lead. The game was pretty much basket for basket for the rest of the quarter with the Blazers making a small push at the deficit. Hornets lead by 5 at end of 2nd Qtr. 45-40

Players at the half:
Andrew Bogut---8 points, 2 boards, 2 assists, 1 block
P.J Brown-------16 points, 7 boards(2 offensive)

3rd Qtr:
The Blazers start the quarter very well and look like they are going to get the lead back for the 1st time since the start of the game. Bogut and Randolph were playing exceptionally well at this stage. the Blazers only trailed by 1 with 5:11 left in the Qtr. The score was tied up because of an Andrew Bogut tip-in off a missed jump shot from Ben Gordon. Unfortunately, the Hornets went on a 6-0 run and were leading 56-50 with 2:54 to play in the 3rd. Gugliotta scored his 1st points as a Blazers while trying to keep the team with a chance of winning. The Blazers end the quarter with 2 free throws by Webster, and trail by 4, 58-62 at 3 Qtr time.

4th Qtr:
The Hornets started the 4th on a 6-0 run, going up by 10. The Blazers' inexperience could be a factor why they could not play well under pressure. Way too many errors and easy missed shots by the Blazers in the last. The Hornets absolutley controlled the last, knocking down almost every shot.

Final Score Hornets win 87-70

I suggest get the players on some heavy dueaty runnning to get them into shape so they can actually finish out a game.

Don't worry about the losses. Though I will change my win # prediction, I think you just need to adjust to the new team. Then the Chemistry will click and you'll being to win games.

It went to Over Time, but the Blazers got their 1st win of the season!

The Knicks just wouldnt give up. They fought until the final buzzer.

1st Qtr:
Blazers won the tip, and telfair drove to the basket and missed an easy layup, got his own rebound and missed again, which gave the ball to the knicks. Blazers not of to a good start. Randolph got 4 of the team's first 6 points, helped blazers to an early 6-5 lead. a great steal by miles, turned into a powerful ally-oop to Bogut got the Blazers squad fired up! The Blazers actually looked like a team for the 1st time this year, Playing great team basketball, with every starter scoring. leading 22-16 at qtr time.

2nd Qtr:
It was now time for the bench to do their job, with the starters having played the entire 1st quarter. Some more good team work in the second quarter, but this time by the bench. the bench players held off the knicks very well. the starters game back on the court with 2:23 remaining in the 2nd, with a 6 point lead, 36-30. Blazers were up by 4 with about 10 seconds to go, but crawford knocked down a contested 3 with 1 second to go. knicks within 1 at half time. Blazers 42-41 Knicks...Half time.

3rd Qtr:
Ben Gordon playing some great offensive basketball. blazers up by 4 with 5:37 left in the qtr. The Blazers now starting to control the game on both ends of the floor, bringing the bench on with 3 mins left in the 3rd so their starters can have fresh legs for the 4th qtr. Blazers almost in complete control of the game now. They lead by 9 at 3 qtr time. only one qtr away from their 1st win of the season.
71-62 at 3 qtr time.

4th Qtr:
Blazers were holding the Knicks off fairly easily until the last 2 minutes. Knicks went on a 6-0 run to bring the lead within 4 with 1:11 left. Blazers were still holding them off. up 99-95 with 41.5 seconds left in the game. Ben Gordon misses an easy layup with 30 seconds left. Knicks fast break, marbury pulls up for a 3 and nails it!! 1 point game with 25 seconds left! Telfair gets 1 of 2 free throws. only 2 points with 22 secs left and knicks possesion! malik rose with the 3 with 13 seconds to go and misses! but jerome james with the offensive board and layup! 100-100 with 11 seconds to play!! Blazers ball. ben gordon drives and misses an easy layup with 1 second to go!! we are going to overtime!!

Overtime:
the starters were not performing in the last minutes of the game. so the bench will play the start of OT. Gugliotta shows his experience, scoring 4 points early. blazers up by 2. the bench had played well the entire game, and there was no difference here. lead by 6. 116-110 with 1:15 remaining. Webster hitting some clutch free throws, putting the game out of reach.

Final Score Blazers win 124-120.

thanks guys. i was really worried when i had to go to OT, but i kept my kool and controlled it with my bench. I am really pleased with Gugliotta as of late, his experience is a great thing to have with this young team.

Just a couple of roster changes...

After seeing some great play of Ruben Patterson coming off the bench, GM Todd Cooper has decided to put him in the line-up, meaning that Explosive Dunker Darius Miles will be on the bench. This will not be a permanent move, as Ruben may not perform well in the starting line-up.

here is what the 2 players had to say:

Darius: "I am very unhappy with this decision! Ruben better not play too well so that i can be back on the starting Line-up! Or i will be demanding a trade! I am the glue that holds this team together!"

Ruben: "I am very grateful for this opportunity and i will not dissapoint. I hope to be starting with this team for the rest of the season and i want to be able to help to make a playoff push. This team has a lot of potential and i want to be here while they all grow."

We also have more roster movement, although this one isnt as important.

F-G Viktor Khryapa has been put on the IR to give gigantic C Ha Seung-Jin a chance at some playing time. The IR will be changing very often throughout the season so that everyone can get some playing time.

I love how you posted the roster movement nice work. I also like the move you've made there Ruben is a player that can get some points on the board and i have noticed that he is playing well and Darius isn't playing well at all of late.

JJ_Weir, yeah the main reason that he is there is because Darius hasn't played well at all for the entire 3 games, and Ruben chipped in with some really clutch points towards the end of Overtime against Knicks.

3PK, Thanks for the comments, and yes Darius does look like he will be out of here. My next game is at home vs 76ers. After the recap of that game, i will be putting a poll for who he should be traded for.....i think that is a good idea.

Next game preview will maybe be up tomorrow sometime. The game will be played and recap will be up most likely on Wednesday. I am glad that i have a few followers, but i am still hoping for more

Allen Iverson will be almost impossibe to stop. Expect him to get 25+ points. also Iguodala needs to be defended well and should not be let in the lane. Really watch out for hot shooter Kyle Korver, if he is left open he will nail it 95% of the time. It looks like the big men will be used more on offence again. I expect Randolph to get a season high on points for this game. he has been climbing since the start of the season. Lookout for Patterson, starting his 1st game for the season. this is crucial game for him.

Get Peja in the team to drop some big three's and to help you get the score on the board i just don't think Gerald Wallace is a threat because he doesn't have a great jump-shot so he won't get room and be able to fly by defenders, Also quentin and Mike are two shooters but not as good as Peja.

Also don't let AI into the paint or you will get destroyed and be sure to watch out for Webber he can run havack on the court if he gets going.

I'm thinking Peja or Q-rich shooting being the main reason, so that Gordon doesn't stand alone. If you do go with either of the two, you should consider Chem as well.

Definitely trade for Stojakovic. He is an all-star calibre player and a much-needed shooter. Definitely make that trade.

Telfair shines as Blazers win home opener!

Telfair was unstoppable in the lane.

1st Qtr:
Part of the gameplan was to make sure that korver wasnt left open. The 76ers won the tip, and the ball straight over to korver for the open 3. The Blazers not looking good right from the start. The 76ers with all of the momentum right from the start. Korver was 2-2 from 3PT in the 1st 1:30. The 76ers hit their first 5 shots, they were up 12-6 with 6:00 remaining in 1st Qtr. Randolph was playing terribly in both ends of the floor early, so Gugliotta had to be brought on. The 76ers went up 20-12 on some great shooting by Korver and Webber. But the Blazers went on a 4-0 Bogut scoring run to cut the lead to 20-16 with 1:47 left. A terrific 11-1 run put the Blazers up 23-21 with 23 seconds left in the 1st qtr. Dalembert with a layup off an offensive rebound tied it up with 10 secs to go.
Scores tied 23-23 at quarter time.

2nd Qtr:
Telfair came out into the 2nd qtr on fire! He scored the first 6 points of the qtr with some great driving skills. The Blazers were leading 29-23 with 6:58 left in 2nd qtr. Telfair was continuing to dominate with 8-0 run entirely from his scoring. Webster was really struggling from 3, not being able to hit open shots, so Gordon had to come back on the court. The Blazers were now in complete control of the game. They lead 39-28 with 3:35 remaing in the qtr. The 76ers tried to cut the gap, but they still trailed at half time.
51-42 at the half

Sebastian Telfair--14 points, 2 assists, 1 steal

3rd Qtr:
The blazers opened the 3rd qtr terrifically. a wide open 3 for gordon gave the Blazers a 12 point lead, but 2 wide open 3's for korver cut the lead back to 6, and now we have ourselves a ball game! Randolph was in foul trouble with 4 fouls and 4:03 left in the 3rd quarter. Blazers now playing some great basketball. They had no chance of giving up the lead. They lead by 9 at 3 qtr time.
76-67.

4th Qtr:
The bench players were on for the start of the 4th. The 76ers just not good enough and couldnt close the gap at all. Blazers ended up winning an easy one.

Final Score Blazers win 105-93
