Looks interesting. I like the first page's format. I would recommend trading Reef, Pryzbilla and Miles for a really good C and SF. Maybe Ak-47 and Okur; or Kaman and Maggette. See what you can get.

Monday 7th November 2005 @ The Toyota Center, Houston, TX

Portland TrailBlazers (0-0) @ Houston Rockets (1-2)

Starting Line-ups

Portland

Team Leaders
HOUSTON
PPG- Yao Ming (20.7)
RPG- Tracy McGrady (10.3)
APG- Yao Ming (6.0)
BPG- Stromile Swift (3.0)
SPG- Bob Sura (2.33)

PORTLAND
PPG- ----
RPG- ----
APG- ----
BPG- ----
SPG- ----

The terrific duo of T-Mac and Yao Ming will be very hard for the Blazers to stop. The Rockets (1-2) have already played 3 games this season, and the Blazers with none played up til this point. This is the Blazers' season opener, although they will not play their home opener until their 4th game of the season. Yao is the main focus for the Defence, because he currently leads the Rockets in Points and Assits. On the offensive end, the Blazers will be looking to have the ball in the Hands of the 2 Guards most of the time, but mainly the PG.
Coach McMillan stated, "If we give the ball to our big men a lot in the post, we will have a very tough time scoring with Yao and team blocking leader Stromile Swift down there with them."

GAMEPLAN

Keep the ball in the hands of the Guards at the offensive end.
Will need double teams on either Yao or T-Mac while they are on the court.
Give Telfair a lot of playing time.

PREDICTION

Houston wins, 112-120

i like how u've done a game preview really gud look forward to a ripper and my personal prediction is houtan wins 101-92 because the Blazer have no answer for the Houstans offence and the rockets have an answer for the blazers, i also think if Z-Bo doesn't score big they won't win and the gameplan is to keep it out of there so i just don't see Blazers with a shot

Blazers get "DEMOLISHED" in season opener!!!

The Portland TrailBlazers came into this game feeling that they didnt have much of a chance against the powerful Rockets, and they were right!

1st Qtr:
Things were bad right from the start. Theo Ratliff had no chance to beat Yao in the tip, and Yao hardly had to jump to be able to beat him. The tip went to Mike James, who sent it straight to T-Mac for the layup. From that moment, that game was already over. The Blazers did not lead for the entire game. Sebastian Telfair was trying as hard as he could to keep the Blazers in it during the 1st quarter, but he just couldn't drive because of Yao waiting for him under the ring. T-Mac was completely unstoppable in the 1st quarter, scoring 20 points. The Blazers would have to bring in a double team in the second quarter. 15-27 at the end of the 1st quarter.

2nd Qtr:
Things were looking good at the start of the 2nd quarter, with 2 of the Blazers' rookies using a bit of team work. A Rockets miss would give the Blazers a good chance for a transition basket, and they didnt screw this one up, with Jarret Jack sending a sweet pass out to fellow rookie Segei Monia for the jam. Then with a Blazers' steal at the other end, Zach Randolph would try and post up Stromile Swift, drawing the double team, which left Jarret Jack wide open for the 3. This 3 pointer cut the lead to 7, but that was as close as the Blazers were going to get for the rest of the game. T-Mac rested for most of the 2nd quarter, but the Rockets were just too powerful. Luther head suffered from an injury with 50 secs left in the half, but seemed fit to come back on the court. The Rockets were in complete control at half time leading by 19, 32-51.

3rd Qtr:
The Blazers put up a little bit of fight in the 3rd quarter, with rookie Martell Webster nailing a couple of 3's, but all of this was not near good enough to come back. Blazers lose the quarter by 4, trailing 53-76 at 3 quarter time.

4th Qtr:
There is nothing to say about this quarter, except that the Rockets kept dominating. The Blazers end up going down by 33!! 68-101. definately not the way they wanted to start the season.

Nice recap, not so gud game but, u should really consider getting sum stars into a balzers outfit or the season will take a very similar path. Maybe even recruiting a high quality big man

An attempt to improve the roster

The Portland TrailBlazers struggled majorly in their 1st game of the season, and realised that they didnt have a player on the team who could lead the team. so, they made a few trades with a few teams and thought that they had the upper-side of the deals.

an anyway:

1st of all, The Blazers trade Shareef Abdur-Rahim(76) and Joel Przybilla(64) to the Bulls for "rising star" Ben Gordon(76) and E.Piatkowski(62).

after that trade, the Blazers realised that they had way too many SG's and only 1 PF, and 2 C's with the 2nd one being Ha Seung-Jin(57). SO the next trade made was Juan Dixon(66) to the Hawks for PF Tom Gugliotta(67).

and one final trade, The Blazers trade Travis Outlaw(74) and Piatkowski(62) to the Bucks for Andrew Bogut(74) and D.Santiago(54).

So the Blazers are now hoping that they have made the right decision with these trades and are looking forward to the new players, playing with the Blazers.

| Bogut and Gordon interview! |

Reporter: GM Todd Cooper, Andrew Bogut and Ben Gordon. I welcome you all. please take a seat.

Cooper, Bogut, Gordon: Thanks, great to be here.

Reporter: So this first question is aimed at Mr. Cooper. What made you decide to trade away all of these players, and why were Bogut, Gordon .etc brought to the team?

Cooper: Well i thought that we really need some great young talent who can lead the team in years to come. Andrew and Ben fit perfectly into this catagory. As for Gugliotta, we realised that we had WAY TOO MANY guards on our roster and only hardly any F-C type players, so i saw that the Hawks were willing to trade away Tom and i thought he could really have a chance to lead the bench with his great experience playing in the NBA.

Reporter: Thanks Todd. Now, Ben and Andrew i have some questions for you. What did you think about the move to the Blazers? and how do you think the team will go for the rest of the season?

Gordon: I was really enjoying my time at Chicago, but for some reason they didnt think it was very important for me to stay there, so i am really looking forward to my future with the Blazers and i hope that i can be a leader in years to come

Bogut: I am really pleased to go to the Blazers. I think we have a lot of potential with heaps of young players. This team looks like a title contender within the next 4-5 years. I really hope that i can be with the Blazers for many years to come and maybe for my entire career.

Reporter: Ok thanks guys. I look forward to watching this team climb in the standings and hopefully even make a playoff push this season. I thankyou again, and goodluck!

Cooper, Gordon, Bogut: Anytime! thanks for the encouragement

JJ_Weir, thanks for the comments. i kind or regret trading Dixon for Gugliotta because i know that i could have got someone better with more potential, but oh well. we'll see how i go.

i will have 2-3 more games up here within the next 2-5 days

Nice trades, but Googs for Dixon is a ripoff. Horrible deal, and You got a washed-up veteran, for a young SG.

Anyway, great roster now, and I predict a 15-18 win season.

G-F | J.R Smith | 76 Overall
G | Chris Paul | 72 Overall

Team Leaders
PORTLAND
PPG- Ben Gordon (18.5)
RPG- Andrew Bogut (9.0)
APG- Andrew Bogut (3.8)
BPG- Theo Ratliff (4.0)
SPG- Theo Ratliff (2.0)

NEW ORLEANS
PPG- P.J Brown (17.2)
RPG- Jamaal Magloire (12.0)
APG- Chris Paul (4.6)
BPG- P.J Brown (1.8)
SPG- J.R Smith (1.8)

This could be a very good game, with 2 teams that have had terrible starts to the season and are both trying to prove themselves. The Blazers have a nice chance to win their 1st game for the season. they will be looking to dominate in the post with Randolph and newly aquired Bogut. But will still be a major option on the offensive end, expect him to score atleast 15 points.

GamePlan

Use big men often.
Gordon will be one of main options on offensive end.
Keep J.R Smith out of the lane

Prediction

Blazers win a close one 98-95

I like your previews really good and i think if there's a chance for you to get a win on the board this is the time. Just an idea maybe one you already have is get randolph and Bogut hot early so then you can draw the double and then dish it out to gorden for either a open jumper or a chance to get in the lane (Y)
