JANUARY RECAP

SCHEDULE
Image

The Sonics 7 remaining games in January we not televised. The first of them, on Jan. 16, was an embarrassing 92-77 home loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. LeBron James coasted to an effortless 23-13-5 in only 31 minutes. Andrea Bargnani led the Sonics with 24 points in the loss. Rashard Lewis was held to just 10 points, but grabbed 8 rebounds and 5 steals. The next game was on Jan 19 against Milwaukee. Robert Swift's broken nose had finally healed, and he reclaimed his spot as the starting C over Chris Wilcox, who went to the bench. The game came down to the wire, with the Vancouver pulling out a 94-93 on a last-second buzzer-beating 3 pointer by Juan Dixon. Vancouver followed up that emotional victory with another close one, this time edging the Nuggets 91-88. Denver's big 2 of Anthony and Iverson combined for 45 points, but Vancouver's astounding 50 points off the bench was enough to claim the win. The winning streak continued with a 116-100 thrashing of the Minnesota Timberwolves. 3 Sonics scored 20+ points, and the team shot .603 from the floor against the revamped T-Wolves. Stromile Swift had a strong game for Minnesota, going for 18-10 on his new team. The Sonics were able to hold Garnett to 19 points. Mike James did not play due to injury.

The Sonics looked to extend their winning streak to a season-high 4 games when they hosted the Los Angeles Clippers, and were evidently up to the challenge, as 7 Sonics scored in double figures in what was perhaps the team's most well-rounded offensive game of the season. The final score was 108-101 for Vancouver. With their new season-high win streak, the Sonics then went on the road to finish the month with the same back-to-back set as which it began: Dallas-Houston. In the first game in Dallas, the Sonics extended their streak to 5 games with a 103-97 win, pulling them to 22-22, the first time all season they'd hit .500. Rashard Lewis led Vancouver with 23 points, while Josh howard led all scorers with 25. The last game of the month saw the Sonics face-off against the heavy-weight Houston Rockets. Yao Ming dominated the Sonics once again, going for 32-12-7, boosting the Rockets to a blow out 113-98 victory, ending Vancouver's 5 game win streak.

The Sonics finished the month with a 9-4 record to pull to 22-23 overall, just 2 games back of 8th seeded Los Angeles Lakers.
NOTE: I forgot to take screen shots of the team standings for January  , so unfortunately the monthly update will be without those. All others are here though.

Whoa... Great game! Steve Nash is great in Video games, despites typically low ratings. In my Magic Association, he had 42 and 16 in a losing effort; and in my first dynasty (Live 2004), I had him on my team, and he won MVP.

BAD NEWS

DYNASTY CANCELED

I was enjoying it, but my crappy computer got messed up and I had to re-format - again.

I'm going to start a new one, though, and just use this thread, cause it's going to be the same premise and everything. Different players on the team, probably, as well as a new recap style.

So followers of this dynasty, do not fret! More is coming, and it's going to be better than ever!

Dang, that sucks, this was great. However, I have found that your 2nd dynasty is always better than the first. You have experience. Can't wait for the sequel!

Damn it, I hate Morrison. That slow, ugly, white-trash, inconsistent shooting overrated diabetic bum. But I regress, this should be good, but Bargs > Morrison.

Good luck!

lol Morrison would be my least favorite player if he wasn't from my home state. Wade, Ginobili and Artest maintain the position.

Can't wait for first update!
