****The Emergence of a Superstar****

The Author Noted:

Many centuries ago, the NBA Live Series has been the favorite of the NBA fans. Playing the game was the best past time for the fans. But as years gone by, the fans thought up of another way to make the game much more fun and interesting, thus the dynasty stories began.

The NLSC gave the fans the ability of spicing up the game through the dynasty stories. Whether it was from the year the NBA Live started up until now of the year 2007 and continued until the NBA Live Series stops. The NLSC gave the fans their own spaces to show their creations and development from their dynasties. The fans then responded with huge smiles on their faces as they populated the place called Dynasty and Franchise Stories.

Dynasties started popping out from everywhere in the world. Many teams were populated and handled amazingly by the fans. And then the world of the Dynasty and Franchise Stories spiced up and sold like coats in the month of December. Due that there are already many teams in the world of Dynasty and Franchise Stories; I have decided to showcase a new type of dynasty, a player career dynasty. Although I heard that there was already one fan who tried this method, trying it again would seem to be interesting. So here it goes.

Not to confuse the Fans:

Player Locking:

The way that I’ll be playing is going to utilize player locking. I will lock the certain player that I want to start the career with. It basically means that I will be activating player lock each time before the game starts. Once I have activated player lock, I can only use the player I locked the controller with the whole game, and the whole dynasty because after all, it is a career dynasty.

Trading the Career Player:

Once there is a fair deal, and I mean fair, but the CPU team doesn’t allow the trade, no matter how fair it is, I will use the editor and trade them manually.

Description of fair trade:

No Big Man for Small Man Trade

No trade with more or less than a three point mark. Meaning I can only trade players like 85 for 86-87-88 and 84-83-81.

Mode of Control:

Once the career player is traded, I will once again use the editor to change the user control to the team where the career player was traded to.

Handling of Teams:

I will not be in charge of the general manager duties even though I have the ability to do so

I will let the Assistant Head Coach do the Playing Time, Starting Lineup, and, the Schedules.

In the beginning of the dynasty, I will not be the one to hire the team staff; instead, I will simulate it till the hiring stops so that the team owner will hire the team staff which will be more realistic rather than me hiring them.

In the Training Section, I will not be the one to train the players; instead, I will also simulate the training.

When the season finally starts, since the assistant doesn’t randomly pick whom he wants to train for the whole season, I will be the one to pick. But the method that I will be using, to make it fair is that, I will train everyone in the roster list starting from bottom to top and train the weak points of their game. I will train each player with the weak points of their game within a span of one week.

Regarding the Rosters:
(Credit to the IRPT for the IRPT March Rosters)
(Used Draft Remover V3 to remove the draftees for the Draft Mod Patch)
(Edited Bellineli, Fernandez, and Wright’s ratings to 1 because they are included in the Draft Mod)

Players will only be traded once they have a reason to be traded, for example, if a
Player is unhappy with the team, and the assistant head coach doesn’t do anything about it, after two weeks and if in the team chemistry the player is still unhappy, I’ll try to ship him out for a fair deal. But if there is none, I will keep him until he expires. Or release him after a month depending on the situation.

I will not trade any players except the career player.

I will not sign any free agents unless two of the benches get a major injury and only if the team still has cap room.

But if the team has reserves at their disposal, that can replace the injured players, I will not sign any free agents.

I will always accept trades from CPU teams with no hesitation. Even if it involves the career player.

Regarding the NBA Draft:
(Credit to RyanP for the Draft Mod)

I will not be in control of the draft. Instead, I will be using the auto pick for the drafting of players.

I will not be in charge of the scouting of players. I will not touch the scouting.

I will be using the NBA Draft Mod by RyanP to add realism to the dynasty.

Picking the Career Player:

I will be creating (via html) a randomizer for the picking of the career player.

The randomizer will select a random team from the list of dynasty teams.

After selecting a random team, the randomizer will select a single player from the team, and that player becomes the career player.

I think I’ve pretty much tackled all of the need to knows of the dynasty so that fans will not be confused with what and where’s.

THE CAREER STARTS

The Randomizer Begins:

Oh my God! I’m sooo excited!! Josh Smith Please… Josh Smith

Image

Oh Man!! Celtics? Well, I guess its okay. I hope its Pierce or Green!

Image

Oh my God! Delonte West? Well, at least I got a decent one.

The Randomizer Picked:

It picked Delonte West as the career player which means that he will be the one that I’ll be playing with for the whole dynasty. And the Boston Celtics will be the team I am going to handle.

DELONTE WEST

Image

Delonte West (born July 26, 1983 in Washington, D.C.) is an American professional basketball player for the Boston Celtics of the NBA.

COLLEGE CAREER

The 6' 4" (1.93 m) shooting guard played for the Saint Joseph Hawks while in college, where he teamed with Jameer Nelson to great success. West averaged 18 points and 4.7 assists per game in his junior season, and shot 41% from three-point range. His efforts helped the Hawks to go undefeated (27-0) in their regular season, and up to the Elite Eight round of the NCAA Tournament.

NBA CAREER

West chose to leave St. Joe's after his junior campaign and was selected by the Boston Celtics as the 24th pick in the 2004 NBA Draft. In his first season he struggled with injuries, playing a total of just 39 games, mostly coming off the bench. He averaged 4.5 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. After making the transition to point guard in his rookie season, West was named the starting point guard at the beginning of the 2005 season by head coach Doc Rivers.

In 2005-2006, West averaged 11.8 PPG, 4.1 RPG and 4.6 APG. He is a tough defender and is known for his athletic blocks. On February 12, 2006, he was named to represent the Celtics on the sophomore team for the Rookie Challenge at NBA All-Star Weekend. Coincidentally, he replaced his college teammate Nelson, who withdrew because of injuries.
West was moved to the shooting guard spot in the 2006-2007 season, but showed signs of difficulty early in the season. He was later moved back to the point guard position.

West has had some clutch shots, including a game-winning buzzer-beater against the Charlotte Bobcats on Nov. 8, 2006, and a game-tying three pointer with 4 seconds remaining in regulation to bring the game into overtime against the New Jersey Nets on March 3, 2007. The Celtics would eventually win the game against the Nets.

The next day against the Minnesota Timberwolves, West scored a career-high 31 points and made a career-high 12 free throw shots, in a double overtime Celtics victory. West scored all 31 of his points in that game during the second half, including the two overtimes.

THE FIRST DAYS:

SUMMER LEAGUE

While other players in the Boston Celtics took the time off, Delonte played for the team in the Summer League instead. He opted to stay with the team and improve his skills rather than going for vacations. I, being his newly hired agent convinced him that playing with the team in the Summer League would be a great media exposure and would boost his stocks.

He doubled his average and increased all of his stats in the summer league. He played with the newly invited players by the Boston Celtics from Europe and the others were out of the free agent pool. West played with determination and passion for the game which was what the fans wanted to see. I encouraged him to entertain the spectators and entertain the team as well but not to the extent that the coaches find you annoying. I encouraged him to be aggressive and finish strong in the basket. I even encouraged him to jam the ball whenever he can.

His young teammates also had their share of the spotlight in the Summer League. Al Jefferson was very dominant in the paint showing a new array of arsenals. Leon Powe was also dominant, lugging his body around his opponents and grabbing tons of rebounds. Allan Ray was also hot in the Summer League, playing aggressively and popping out jumpers from everywhere in the court. But there were also some duds like Rajon Rondo who kept turning the ball over a number of times. Perkins was also out shape, increased his body size and decreased his speed and quickness. Ryan Gomes was the opposite of Allan Ray, missing most of his shots, whether close ranged or mid-ranged, he was firing blanks.

Stars like Paul Pierce, Wally Sczerbiak, Gerald Green, and Sebastian Telfair were never seen in Summer League. But they all showed up after the league when the practices started.

SIGNING DEALS:

After the Summer League, And1 came to us and negotiated a deal about Delonte wearing their shoes for the next three seasons. I told them that the duration was too short and we wanted a longer offer. But we came to a deal later on and they signed Delonte to a five year contract with And1 Shoes and Accessories.

 What?

Good luck, player lock would be a cool thing to use (by the way, do the other players shoot or do you have to trigger it?) for a whole season.

No.. I wanted to have the realistic feel.. wherein i only control a single players movements and shots.. I only get the ball if the other players pass it to me.. If they don't I just wait for them to.. I also don't control their shots.. I hate it coz often times whenever i pass the ball to a teammate.. They shoot it and then the ball doesn't rotate to the other players..

I also hate the fact that I don't control other players on defense especially on the inside, which makes the teams defense suck..

But nevertheless, it still adds realism to the game which is what i really love..

What's wrong with Delonte?

Anyway, great idea. I'll be following.

One suggestion, though: You should scale down some of your screen shots. they don't really need to be that big.

Great work, otherwise.

I think a width of 480 pixels should be pretty good for your screenshots. The forum only allows up to 500 width, anyway.
