Is there any way to make the stupid forklift go faster in the "Boomshine Blowout" mission? It's a f-n pain-in-the-ass.

It's the fucking camera that blows my nut. I havent been able to do that either.

That mission took me a couple of tries, but in the end, it's all about the routes and how they cave in, so take the right route each time without driving around to search for openings. That's how I beat it.. barely in time. Wait till you get to the mission with the Mendez Brothers called "High Wire". That mission is enough to make any person throw down their controller in frustration.. I still can't get past that mission. All missions before that were child's play compred to it. Yes, it's THAT hard. Someone who has beaten it, tell me how, legit or with cheating, doesn't matter, I need to get past it.

You mean it's harder than SA's 'Flying School', 'Wu Zi Mu' & 'Farewell My Love' and VC's stupid RC missions & 'Dildo Dodo? Those are the ones I dread the most.

It's not harder, but just as hard. Racing missions were always a cinch for me since I've always enjoyed racing. But it's the airplane missions where I always have the most trouble with, which is why this VCS mission is really getting on my nerves. I remember that one mission in San Andreas (forgot the mission title), but you had to intercept the Mafia plane coming in from Liberty City, which was the hardest GTA mission ever for me, Flying School coming in at a close second.

But on that VCS mission... the first two parts of it is very simplistic... it's just that the final segment of that mission is a total pain in the ass to do. What makes this mission very annoying and tedious... is that it's LONG. I can't emphasize that enough... it's not that I don't mind failing the missions in the first couple of tries, but this particular mission is just so damn long to the point where restarting is nearly enough to make anybody throw down their PSP (or PS2 controller) in frustration. The developers at Rockstar were pretty sadistic with this one. Trust me, when any of you guys get to it and (chances are) that you fail the first time, you'll dread the possibility of going through it a second time just for the sheer length of the mission (just like that San Andreas plane intercepting mission). Rockstar should consider savepoints for missions after this one.

Now, you guys might think I'm exaggerating it.. maybe I am (but that's a BIG maybe), but this mission has really been driving me nuts to the point where I'm thinking of just trading it in and getting another game. Just get to the mission, and judge for yourself. Most likely, the reaction to the mission will be negative.

Nailed this on my second try, BZ. You're right - it is a pain in the ass, and it's not a mission I'd want to try again. By the time you get to Diego's car, the f-n damage meter is nearly full. I got lucky and grabbed the car when the meter was 4/5 full. Good thing there weren't that many trees around.

For long missions like this, there needs to be checkpoints where you can save your progress.

Damn, Jeffx, two tries?! Crazyness. It took me 5 tries just to beat it, and I managed to barely save that guy. And that guy in the car isn't Diego. He's just one of the Mendez's henchmen, one of the most important ones I think, otherwise I wouldnt' understand the importance of rescuing him. The sheer length of this mission just makes me shake my head. And I definitely agree, they need to have checkpoints in the missions in the future. For the sake of the player's sanity.

I guess it's because I'm a GTA fanatic, BZ. I have no life and play all five games religiously. And "High Wire" is similar to SA's "Up, Up & Away".

"High Wire" is tough, but it takes me longer to beat "Flying School", the Woozie races(I SUCK at races), "Dildo Dodo", and Avery's RC mission.

At the moment I'm stuck on "Jive Drive." I know the mission itself isn't too difficult in what it's asking you to do but it's one that can go south very quickly with a couple of misfortunes, like one of the Cholos' cars blowing up next to yours and taking up half the damage meter, getting gunned down before you get to cover or Lance getting killed when you're almost finished the second stage of the mission. I've had to put it aside for a couple of days because it's becoming too frustrating but I'm about ready to give it another shot.

Same here, I've played and beaten every single game in the series, so I guess I can regard myself as a GTA fanatic as well. Whenever I play a GTA I haven't played before, I'm always playing it and nothing else until I beat it. However, in my eyes, a true GTA fanatic is someone who gets 100% completion in all of the GTA's they played, which is damn hard. I've yet to even get one 100% completion in all of it. So in the end, I'm a wannabe GTA fanatic.

Jive Drive is a walk in the park compared to some of the later missions. As I mentioned before, watch out for High Wire and Light My Pyre. Those are the toughest in the game imo. Only tip I can give you about Jive Drive is to use the precision aim and just be trigger happy. It worked for me.

I've never done 100% completion in any GTA game. I can't be bothered with races and RC challenges. I'm more into doing the missions and exploring the cities.

The rail part of the mission isn't too bad now that I've done it a few times, it's just one of those missions where it's easy to mess up early on (like blowing up a car right next to you ) which makes it much harder than it needs to be. The second part of the mission is what's getting me at the moment; I think I need to upgrade my arsenal to dispense with the Cholos quicker.

Do what I do, Andrew. After each completed mission, drive around collecting special packages & weapons. You'll find an AK-47 on the roof of the Downtown police station.

Good idea, thanks for the heads up. (Y) I got into the habit of doing prep work before missions in LCS but I haven't been doing that as much so far in VCS.

Took me half the night to complete "Light My Pyre", mostly because of that f-n Lance. I kept trying to do the PIT maneuver(from SA), but Lance kept getting in my way, bumping me. My car kept blowing up, leaving me stranded and running to find another one. The rest of the mission was a snap - sad ending though.

You have to be extra-strapped, because the missions are longer & harder in VCS.

That Lance part was quite easy for me imo, I just stole a police motorcycle and gunned down the cars. It was Mendez and his flamethrower that wrecked havoc for me. Small room plus a flamethrower that can expel flames that cover 70% of the room is enough as it is... but I agree... damn Lance. Killing him again in VC never felt so satisfying.

Like 'The Portland Chainsaw Massacre' from LCS, just stick and move. Once I whittled away half of Armando's health, I just stood there and went toe-to-toe with him - my AK-47 vs. his flamethrower. With my full armor & health, I won out.

Tell me about it. When I first finished the rail portion of the mission I figured that would be it. I'll have to spend some more time doing prep work.

I have to say the ending for "Light My Pyre" is the saddest in the GTA series.
