300 is generating a buzz I didn't expect. Even my studious-who-barely-like-to-see-a-movie friends are asking me if I have seen it. (I haven't, yet)

Saw the Alpha Dog trailer: I just can't suspend my imagination and believe Timberlake is a tattoed gangsta. The image of 8-Hype just creeps into my head whenever I see the trailer.

Dreamgirls: Finally saw it. Pimpin' Eddie Murphy alone is worth the ticket!
"Jimmy got soul!"
"You can't kill a man with soul"
I don't get the fuss of Beyonce's acting being ignored for an Oscar nomination. She did nothing new or noteworthy as she basically sang, acted a little bit, and shook her bootay (and a fine booty at that), which she always does in her music videos.

Ghost Rider: This movie is confused. It doesn't know whether it wants to be a horror, suspense, action, western, biker, or romantic movie. The action scenes aren't action-filled at all, and I didn't even feel the climax present in the movie. The Ghost Rider (cgi Cage) also out-acted Nicholas Cage (real Cage)
The only good thing is:
The cgi being a bit better than The Hulk, imo.
Eva Mendez's boob shots.
The Ghost Rider character itself (so I'm a fan, bite me).

It also surprised me that it cost 130 bucks ($3) to see Ghost Rider, as an image of the "No Wai" owl flashed in my mind.
I want my money and seconds of my life back.

The director/co-writer of Ghost Rider and Daredevil, Mark Steven Johnson, should be banned from writing and directing ever again.

Saw 300, loved it. Saw Casino Royal, hated it. Why the fuck was Bond sappy and in love in that movie? Fuck that, she's a whore.
Opinions are my own.

Bond was still a newb in Casino Royale. That's why he's emo.

Why haven't more of you seen 300 yet? It's by far the best movie I've seen at the theater in a long long while.

It's not out here as yet. It'll come tomorrow only. I'll try catching it over the weekend because of school/work.

I'm all but certain you'll enjoy it as much as myself and everyone else I've talked to. It's one of maybe three movies I've ever seen in the theater twice. I will own it on DVD the day it comes out.

Just saw Zodiac, pretty good, kinda long but it kept my interest. If you got some time to spare and you dont want to go see 300 again it is worth a gander I think.

Watched Ice Age 2, Idiocracy, and Art School Confidential

Ice age 2-pretty much ice age 1 jokes with prettier animation..much like shrek 2. Not bad though

Idiocracy-mike judge flick, was expecting office space caliber, i was not rewarded. Not unfunny, but not very many times i started cracking up.

Art School Confidential-All i can really say is...."uh....what?"

History Of Violence was better than I expected, nice camerawork and directing, though the reviews in newspapers gave away too much, I hate that (N)

I watched Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth. Global warming does more damage than I thought, and unless plan is taken to reduce gas emissions, there's gonna be a worldwide problem in the next few years. I think this is a movie everyone should watch, and be aware of.

Well, all countries should, I mean should *cough*usanchina*cough* sign those Kyoto agreements or whatever they're called. If the biggest polluters don't agree at least with them terms, we're screwed.

I watched 300 over the weekend, visually amazing. The storyline isn't anything fantastic though, so don't be waiting for a kickass story line. The movie is the ultimate guy movie since Departed/Casino Royale (the non lovey dovey parts).

As I said, it's visually breath-taking and the line delivery and all were quite wowing. It was also a nice thing to see McNulty as what he was. Also the main bad guy creeped the shit out of me, if I wouldn't want to be molested by one person in particuliar, it'd be him/her/it.

I agree. However, they're not going to sign anything if the nation's people doesn't know anything about the effects of global warming. It'll bite them in the ass eventually once the States' major cities along the shore and Shanghai (or some Chinese city) gets permanently flooded.

Relating to the topic, I was gonna watch 300 on Friday night, but the 7:30 and 9:50 shows were all sold out. Argh. I'll give it 2 more weeks.

yeah thats a good movie

300 was great imo too, just as everyone has said...

here's two that ive recently seen that i enjoyed: Pans Labyrinth and Perfume: The Story of a Murderer. They're both sort of "dark" and end on not-so-good notes, but i love that about movies when a real conclusion occurs as opposed to a "fairytale" ending...

Ultimate guy flick is right. The movie's about 2 hours on the nose, and there's approximately 100 minutes out of the possible 120 that are just visually wowing battles and fight scenes and bloodshed. Xerxes is a creepy ambiguous weirdo too, in a sexual predator sort of way.

I watched Ghost Rider tonight. The only saving grace of that movie is the constant cleavage of Eva Mendez.

You know how his head bursts in to flames...? That's what I was begging my head to do, just spontaniously combust orso. Then I saw a shot of Mendez's tits and I was like, okay, cool down.

Then Johny Blaze again and then the cycle was just on repeat.

Horrible movie. Terrible. Horrible.

It was a miserable, rainy day yesterday, so while I was doing endless laundry, I finally got around to watching Thank You For Smoking as well as Donnie Darko for the first time each. I enjoyed both thoroughlly. Wrapping ones head around Darko is a bit tough, but from what I understand, the Director's Cut has some important scenes added and commentaries, etc. I did read a few articles explaining the movie a bit further, which helped. Anyway, both movies were as advertised, and worth seeing again.

The Director's Cut of DD is kind of lame, instead of you figuring out the movie for yourself, they pretty much chew it all up for you & spit it in to your mouth for you to swallow it.

They spell out the whole movie, which in the end, takes away from the movie.

I agree with Jackal, the directors cut is also lame because he inclued the same scenes on the non directors cut dvd and you could watch them inserted into the movie i believe. Amazing flick though, in my top 3 of all time.

Just saw 300 and Rocky Balboa recently.

Jackal's post pretty much nails it about 300.
I don't get it why some people whine about how it has no captivating storyline, omitted some historical details, etc-etc.
It's a fucking blood and guts movie that's based on a graphic novel, those whiny fucks should get over it. Just enjoy the gore.

Comments/Spoilers?:
300: Watch out for Bill and Ted (Bill grew his hair long), and also for a relative of Mr. T.

Rocky Balboa: I noticed two things
1. Why wasn't the US anthem played before the fight?
2. WTF is Mike Tyson doing in the movie? Isn't he supposed to be busy fighting old ladies in exhibition fights?
