My short film

Postby Nick on Sun Mar 18, 2007 11:00 pm

I made a short film in 2005 for a school project, and i just figured out a few days ago how to convert DVD to mpeg to upload to youtube. (Y) So i thought i'd share.

Description:
After a strange dream one night, Clyde discovers that there is more than just a brain inside his head.

Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnm9NMRPPv8

It's probably a bit lame to most of you, but believe it or not it required much effort and detication to complete. So give it a watch. But it was fun to make though because i just got some friends to act in it, and we just fucked around most of the time. Also, i got an A+ for it. Even though it was handed in late. In case you care, there are some tunes in there from my old band. I drummed in them.

Anyway, It's called Inside Clyde, and i think you should watch it.

Good stuff, thanks for sharing. (Y) Cool concept, I like the fact you didn't go overboard with artistic cliches (though there'll always be a place for a clown flipping a pancake). What kind of mark did you get?

Hehe that was pretty cool. One thing I expected to see was a shaky cam, you can't believe how many students over here have short films with a shaky cam. Most annoying in most cases.

Anyways, as I said, that was pretty nifty. Just a question to the girl, why was she wearing a broken watch? And did the guy creep her out so much she walked away from the bus she was waiting for? :(

Lol yeh, these are things i didn't think of when i wrote the script. A girl pointed out the broken watch thing just recently actually ("The girl is more of a kook than the guy for wearing a broken watch" - her words. haha), but nobody has pointed out that she has walked off and is going to miss her bus though. I didn't even think of that.

Let's just pretend that she prefers to wear a broken watch rather than no watch at all because she likes the feeling of it around her wrist, and she walked away because she needed to pee anyway.

I thought that was pretty funny. The music was mixed kind of loud, but other than that, nice job. Why didn't you wait for the bus? That girl looked a little like Kirsten Dunst. The acting was better then some of the B movies that I have seen.

Because i was behind the camera. :P

Yeah, that's what my teacher was suprised at most. It was pretty easy for the main guy (Brett), cos he is pretty much like that in real life haha. He's really slow and looks like eeor the donkey, so it was easy for him to play a mundaine character. Also, the main chick (Adelle) wants to get into acting so she knew how to act a bit already.

With the panel of 5 dudes. That was fun to film, and their acting is pretty good. I told them to really eggsadurate (i learned how to spell it ) everything. And for their reactions i'd tell them to act as if their team just won the game, or their pants fell down and are really embarrased. shit like that. I put a broken tv under the camera for them to look at and told them to pretend like they're watching what clyde does there.

(Y)

Also, did anyone notice that my "bus stop" is actually a football field?

Good shit!!! Nice to see the Upwey football ground was muddy back then. Liked the 'Awesome: Nick' bit in the credits, very subtle.

That one guy had a decent mullet as well - classy!

True that about the hair farmers. I'm so hairy my friends had called me 'Hairy McClary from Donalsons Dairy for a while'. Fuckers

Lol yeh Jackson went through a mullet phase. That was pretty funny. The blonde dude on the right, Cleighton, actually has a mini mullet too. Btw that blonde dude was the guitarist of my band, the main dude in the middle was the bass guitarist, and i was the drummer. If only i had the singer somewhere in the vid.

Anyway, you know of Upwey footy ground? I live like 2 minutes walk from there.

Just thought Rob Cockerell was a fake name throw-in, something like the "Awesome: Nick" subtle bit.

Haha nah, that's his actual name. I call him Nob Cock because i'm hilarious. Good bloke though.

Fun fact(s): The brick wall where the panel of 5 dudes is filmed is actually my bedroom. Yes, there are bricks in my bedroom. My computer is located behind where the camera is. And that's my bed that Clyde wakes up in too. Same room - sshhh.

I had a mate that played for Upwey Seniors. Chris something, can't remember his surname but I worked with him in Oakleigh a year or so back. Good mate of Jason Snell's, the ex-geelong player. Haven't actually been there though.

Sweet. The juicy asses in the end may have been a bit much for the younger members in here to control their raging hormones but cool beans still.

What's with the choice of words? :eh:

Nice vid. The girl is right, the guy's a geek. Braces with shorts?

I can relate to the guy though, sometimes my mind abandons me and I end up speechless with the ladies.

Nah. The song at the start and at the ending credits is by a band called Butterfingers. All the music (well, the 2 songs) in between were by my band. I wrote the music in the third song (Hide And Seek). (Y) It's the psychodelic kinda one.
