Your Basketball Performances

He used the present perfect instead of the preterit as the sentence's grammatical tense, so I thought he had that game recently.
The action he expressed in that sentence (having a 20+ rebound game) isn't an action that has been completed with respect to the present, so the proper tense for the sentence should be the preterit ("I had a game"), not the present perfect ("I've had a game.")

I saw the present perfect tense in that sentence so I just thought he had that game recently.

Oh, so that's it.

Give or take a couple of boards, yeah, that's about right....the big guy had at least 10-12 offensive boards, that's where he was getting all his points....picking up misses....he might grab an offensive board on a miss, miss a putback, grab the board, then make basket....I had about 5 offensive boards too....

you have to remember we were playing a 40 minute game, 10 minute quarters....in Australia we usually play on 24 second shot clocks, not 35 seconds....although in our league, we don't have shot clocks....but this is a game that ended up 47-47, and each team was putting up shots every 15 seconds....each team would've shot only about 35% from the field, it got pretty ugly towards the end....both teams were on pace for 60pts at the half, but it turned into defensive struggle in the 2nd half....

in a normal game, I'd probably grab about 10 rebounds, which isn't that many considering most teams shoot about 40% in the league (not a very good league)....I actually might have undercut the big guy a couple of boards as he was dominant, especially on offensive boards....

he essentially got boards the way Wilt got his 55....he's a 6'6" guy & I'm 6'2"....the other team's tallest player was my height & the rest of their guys were at or below 6'0"....they're probably second smallest team behind us (when the 6'6" guy doesn't play for us)....

so yeah, we did well on boards, but didn't get win, & that's all that matters....

32 and 12 during a playoff loss in an organized men's league was my last real big game.

We played a lot of 2-3 zone, and one of our big guys got undercut and left the game .. so I got stuck underneath a lot. A lot of boards just came in my direction really.

heh .. I'm actually a 6'3" jump shooter/swingman .. I think that was the only time the stat sheet ever read 10+ out of me on the glass.

best game i ever had was a game where i shot 11 of 12. it dont sound like much but all 12 shots were from behind the line. i went 10 for 10 in the first half and sat most of the second in which i only hit 1 of 2.

most i ever scored was 42 and i did that on only 3 misses. never scored much from the ft line, was always the shooter.

42 points, thats crazy, the most i scored was around 30 but i usually get 10-15. Because i play point im a pass-first player so most games i usually get more assists.
The last time i played state ball my averages were

at Starting Point Guard (80% of the time)

12ppg 14apg 4rpg 1spg

Off Bench (20-30%)

8ppg 4apg 2rpg

Because i played state it was like full proper with stats etc. recorded as we had a proper league like NBA style, i dont play anymore but I think i might play again but for a diff team in the league. I remember the best performance ive seen was when i went down to watch the finals cos we werent in it, and this massive guy around 6-8 put on a clinic he must of had like 20 rebounds and 20 points or so along with like 8 blocks, he was dominate but his team lost cos the other team had two of the best guards for our age group, they represented Western Australia many times, but still i love watching some of these giants playing on guys like 6-4 it gets out of control. Some of these guys seriously must be on steroids or something cos they look like a 25 year old guy and there like 17.

Woohoo, finally got onto a team. Start playing in 3 weeks. Going to be very rusty, but only playing D division so it shouldn't be too challenging. Can't wait.

At Waverley Stadium. So nothing special, but should be a bit of fun.
