Edit: Colts are Super Bowl Champs. Congratulations!!

I wouldnt say Grossman choked. He was under alot of pressure all night long and on at least oone of those interceptions his wide receiver coulda broke it up. 20 of 28 attempts is not bad at all really. That Colts defense was truly a tormentor.

The real question now is who is MVP?

peyton manning , congratulations

good game until the 4th , and it wasn't the 41-3 blowout i was afraid of seeing. There were just too many turnovers by Grossman in the 4th...but congrats to the world champions. Now they follow the trend of super bowl victors who cannot replicate their super bowl season success (see Ravens , Buccaneers , Steelers). The fact is , after you win a Super Bowl , there's a huge target on your back next season , and this applies to all major American sports (yes even the Heat). So enjoy your championship while it lasts...

That was one of the worst games I've ever seen. The winning team coughed up the ball twice, threw an interception, couldn't get the ball down for an extra point, and gave up a 92-yard kickoff return to start the game. Sad.

So? It was pouring down there, Chicago weather right? The Colts out pounded the Bears and were more physical. If anyone questions whether or not the better team won, they have a problem, or a sick bias.

All week all we heard was that the Colts had to win the finesse game, and we just straight up out smashmouthed them. Addai and Rhodes couldn't have done a better job.

The defense was as good as you can ask. The Bears had one big play, and that was it.

Best feeling in the world, I'm on cloud 9. After having the worst team in the league, then just getting teased every season, we finally have that ring. Let's do it again next year.

I dont think he was saying the Colts didn't deserve to win, Indy. I think he was just saying the game sucked. It wasn't well played. Unless you had a strong rooting interest, it wasn't that entertaining of a game. It seemed like the Colts won because the Bears played worse, as opposed to the Colts winning because they played better.

As more time passes by and more people complain on the radio , I begin to question why Manning was MVP over other candidates such as [insert obscure defensive player who intercepted Grossman and scored the touchdown to seal the game] or Rhodes / Addai Co-MVP. I also wouldn't have a problem with Bob Sanders as MVP...but Manning?

What do you think Indy?

I thought Addai / Rhodes should have been co-MVP's as well. But I think any player could have been it. Hayden also dould have been it, his interception ran back for a touchdown was probably the most valuable play of the game, momentum wise.

Btw this was my favorite commercial HAHA!

He's just pissed off because the Colts have now beaten the Pats 3 times in a row. :D Last time I checked, the Colt's margin of victory was bigger than all three Pats SB victories combined.

What was sad was watching how big of a poor sport Belichick is after their regular season loss to the Jets and the AFC championship loss to the Colts. Sure he loves to hug the other team's coach and players when we wins, but he can't even offer a decent hand shake when he loses.

I really don't think it matters who the MVP was. It was a total team effort, and that's really all you can say.

You can make an argument for Bob, Joe, Nic, Kelvin, Jeff Saturday, etc. but it was just a team win.

Peyton managed the game very well.

MVP for the Colts was Rex Grossman - it seemed like he had money on the Colts if you ask me. I'm not sure how "Chicago weather" in Miami causes a team to fumble, throw an interception, be unable to catch a long snap properly, and give up a kickoff return for a TD. Bears would have won by a narrow margin if they had run the ball. Their playcalling just made no sense at all to me. Jones could have had a field day, but losing Benson screwed them over a bit.

You sure are bitchy...don't worry, the Pats will have a chance to beat the Colts next year (though Indy will most likely make it 4 in a row)

Bears would have won by a narrow margin if they had run the ball

Kind of like saying the Pats would be 0-3 if Vinatieri hadn't been clutch in kicking those 3 last second game winning field goals?

The problem with the Bears is that Manning and Company dissected them for 430 yards...136 more than the Bears gave up per game during the regular season. The colts also scored 11 more points the the Bears were giving up on average during the regular season

Jones could have had a field day

It's not like he was dominating. Other than the one 52 yard run, Jones was averaging barely 4 yards a carry.

Kaboom admit it, you didn't even watch the game. The Bears tried to run the ball and the Colts shut them down.

Yeah Indy you tell him. The Colts ran shit, literally. The Colts had a stronger running game then Da Bears and that's why they won.

Colts - 38 passing attempts, 42 rushing attempts. Bears - 28 passing attempts, 19 rushing attempts.

Very first series for the Bears:

ESPN wrote:1st and 10 at CHI 35 (12:48) R.Grossman pass short right to B.Berrian to CHI 41 for 6 yards (N.Harper).
2nd and 4 at CHI 41 (12:16) T.Jones up the middle to CHI 42 for 1 yard (G.Brackett).
3rd and 3 at CHI 42 (11:37) R.Grossman pass incomplete deep left to B.Berrian (A.Bethea).
4th and 3 at CHI 42 (11:30) B.Maynard punts 58 yards to end zone, Center-P.Mannelly, Touchback.

Didn't run on first down, didn't run on 3rd and 3.

Second series for the Bears:

ESPN wrote:1st and 10 at CHI 43 (6:34) T.Jones left guard to IND 5 for 52 yards (A.Bethea).
1st and 5 at IND 5 (5:51) T.Jones left guard to IND 4 for 1 yard (A.McFarland).
2nd and 4 at IND 4 (5:08) T.Jones right end pushed ob at IND 4 for no gain (N.Harper).
3rd and 4 at IND 4 (4:40) R.Grossman pass short right to M.Muhammad for 4 yards, TOUCHDOWN.
R.Gould extra point is GOOD, Center-P.Mannelly, Holder-B.Maynard.

Three runs and a touchdown pass, barely ran it the rest of the game once Benson went down.

I don't see any reason for your useless ad hominem ranting. The numbers really don't lie, so if you'd rather insult me to prove your point, so be it. Championship-caliber teams have to run the ball; it doesn't matter if they get stopped for no gain a few times. I'm not a Bears or a Colts fanboy, I just call it like I see it.

Yes, Thomas Jones had 1 big play in the first half, which led to their one score other then the Hester return. Other then that they tried to run plenty in the first half with no success. They even ran the ball on a couple of 3rd and 7s and 3rd and 5s.

I realize that the thread is a month old, but I thought I would clarify a couple statements of mine so BigKaboom2 doesn't stick my name between the Lakers and Yankees on any sort of black list :)

By no means did I mean to insult you by using the word "bitchy." I meant it not as a derogatoy sense, but as a substitution for any of the following: cynical, crabby, sulky etc. By no means was I trying to take a cheap shot at you. It was the first word that came to mind when I was thinking of a way to describe your negative remarks aimed at the Colts victory.

As for my "ad hominem ranting", I feel that my theoretical Vinatieri Misses=Pats Loss are just as good of an argument as your Bears Running More=Superbowl Victory. But to each his own

The numbers really don't lie

I agree. Colts 29, Bears 17. The Bears were outcoached and outplayed by the Colts. Indy deserved the victory.

Like you, I am neither a Colts or a Bears fanboy. I have been a diehard fan of the 49ers since the late 80's/early 90's. However, I was happy to see a Colts victory, especially after everything the Dungy family has had to go through with the death of their son. I also thought Peyton deserved to win the big one. Like him or hate him, the man is one of the hardest workers in the NFL. While other QB's just sit and relax on the sidelines, Manning is constanting studying his opponent, looking for ways to attack.

But I will stop here. There is really no reason to continue on debating. The Colts won, the Bears lost, the offseason is in full swing and every team is now looking towards the 2007 season. You have your views on the game and I have mine, neither of us are going to change and neither of us necessarily are right or wrong. No hard feelings.

PS If it makes it any better, I am a Sox fan...not as much since they traded away Pedro (who I watched play farm ball for the Dodgers back in the day), but all-in-all I still hate the Yankees.
