Here is the current 2011-12 Boston Celtics Lineup. From the original rosters only Gerald Green, Gilbert Arenas and Wayne Simien remain.

Matthias Carter played Power Forward and backup Center during the years when Shaquille O'Neal played in the paint for Boston. But since Shaq's retirement, Carter has had to step up and try to fill the role and has proven himself as a competent starting Center for the Celtics.

Anthony Rishon's career took a turn for the better when he left the LA Clippers in 2008 and was one of the runners for Sixth Man of the Year honors, also managing to start 7 games ahead of the then preferred championship vetern Wally Szczerbiak at SF. Trained up to the Ins.Scr.FSS. Rishon was moved to Power Forward and a starting lineup place came shortly after. Anthony was also part of the 2010/11 All Star Game and played a major role in the Celtics championship season.

Gerald Green has emerged as one of the most intimidating talents in the entire league with the Celtics after the training staff worked solidly with the SG/SF for the past 7 years on his Offensive and Athletic game. Surpassing Gilbert Arenas as the team leader in Points Per Game for the first time last season, much of the Celtics championship aspirations are upon Gerald's shoulders. Gerald has also appeared in the last two All Star Games and was Finals MVP for last season's championship winning team.

Elden Oxford has been a Celtics product since being drafted in the second round in 2006, but after a slow start to his career he has begun to put up some promising numbers for the Celtics as a starting Shooting Guard with Out.Scr.FSS. to help him out.

Gilbert Arenas joined the Celtics early in 2006 when new GM and Head Coach, Shing, controversially shipped Boston legend Paul Pierce to Washington in exchange for the then 6 year veteran Point Guard. It would appear, however, that this might've been one of the finest trade decisions made in Celtics history as Gilbert went on to garner three MVP awards in the 2007/08, 2008/09 and 2010/11 seasons and five straight Defensive Player of the Year awards from 2006/07 onwards. Gilbert has started for the Eastern All Stars every year he's been with the Celtics and won finals MVP two out of the four times Boston has made it to the finals.






2005/06 Lineup Changes: Paul Pierce & Sebastian Telfair to Washington Wizards in exchange for Gilbert Arenas & Caron Butler.
2006/07 Lineup Changes: Raef Lafrentz, Al Jefferson and Caron Butler to Miami Heat in exchange for Shaquille O'Neal & Wayne Simien. Jonathan Barrett drafted.

2008/09 Lineup Changes: Tony Allen to New Orleans Hornets in exchanged for Matthias Carter.
2009/10 Lineup Changes: Shaquille O'Neal retires, jersey retired to rafters. Anthony Rishon comes into lineup.
2010/11 Lineup Changes: Wally Szczerbiak retires, jersey retired to rafters. Gerald Green moves to SF and Elden Oxford comes into lineup at SG.

(A look at new arrivals in the NBA since the 2006/07 season)
*NB: The 2011/12 season schedule is already half completed.

Since the arrival of Josh Ardenza in Atlanta, things have been looking up for the Hawks. Pairing up with the much improved Josh Smith (90), Joe Johnson (89) and Marvin Williams (89) to form perhaps the most highly rated team in the league that last season were only beaten out by the Boston Celtics on the way to their fourth championship in five years. Ardenza brings back to the NBA some old school traits reminiscent of Patrick Ewing in his prime and has been one of the league leaders in Points, Rebounds and Blocks per game since his arrival in 2009.

Drafted in 2006, Adam Smolinski's career got off to a slow start and peaked perhaps during the 2009/10 season before injuries took their toll the following year. So far this 2011/12 season though he has looked back to his old self and many analysts look forward to his continued partnership with Jason Richardson (92) leading the Warriors back into the playoffs.

The rise and fall of Emmanuel Butler can be charted through his statistics. Growing resentment towards talented teammates Lamar Odom (88) and Kobe Bryant (97) can be seen in his numbers as the SF wants more of the ball. Being benched in favor of 8 year veteran Brian Cook (76) this season by Phil Jackson has led many to speculate on trading Butler. The SF's talent is not doubted however and has been undoubtably one of the hottest prospects drafted since 2006.

Keon Baker has made the Nets an ever greater powerhouse in the NBA, joining Superstar teammates Jason Kidd, Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson to the NBA Finals two years ago where they were beaten out by the Houston Rockets. This season with the retirement of legendary PG Jason Kidd and declining performances by Carter (88) and Jefferson (86), Keon has had a much greater share of the ball for the Nets and currently lies second in the league in PPG!

The man whom some liken to a Tracey McGrady renaissance, Anfernee Irwin has become one of the most famous superstars in the league, teaming up with Dwight Howard (96) to deliver entertaining performances. The skills, however, have not matched up with wins and the Magic have still only made the playoffs once in Irwin's four year career span.

A second year SG who already outscores teammate Shawn Marion, James Carson wears the number 23 for the Suns and has given them a much needed boost in the backcourt since Steve Nash's retirement in 2009/10. With Smush Parker (81) at point guard and Amare Stoudemire (99) at Center, the Suns are one of the top tips for a championship this year.

Heh, yeah I like it though cos it makes the league more interesting. Rookies don't tend to dominate like players on the original rosters if you don't DBF them - actually improved in 07 IMO.

An overview of some of the most talented players' careers currently playing.

Allen Iverson never left Philly and has led them to the playoffs every year since 2005/06! The problem is, they've never made it past the second round and it seems the improvement of superstar Andre Iguodala (95) has come whilst Iverson has declined. Still, Iverson will pass the 30000 career point mark this season and will become only the 5th player to do so. Can he catch Wilt Chamberlain's 31149?


Ben Gordon is mostly in here for posterity, lol. But he's put up solid numbers throughout his career which have been gradually eroded by the progress of Tyrus Thomas (87) and Luol Deng (84). The Bulls made it to the Semi-Finals back in 2006/07, but they haven't made it past the first round since.


Dirk Nowitzki enters his 13th NBA season in 2011/12 in a Dallas team reminiscent of the early 90s strugglers the Mavericks used to be. Dirk's time as a superstar only continues because the rest of his team aren't rated above 75. The Mav's made the finals back in 2007/08 but some major rebuilding must be done before that happens again and that'll mean ditching Dirk's $17M contract first. Nowitzki sits between Charles Barkley and Robert Parish in the NBA's all time scoring leaders.


Tim Duncan is still the go-to-man for the Spurs after 14 years of service for them. Manu Ginobli's (78) decline has allowed Duncan an even greater share of the ball this year as he and Tony Parker (84) still look to break through in the playoffs. The Spurs haven't gone deep into the playoffs since 2005/06 when they lost to the Heat though, and the development of talented 4th year SG Augustine Jones (76) may come too late for San Antonio to make their mark.


Dwyane Wade has had to deal with the pressures of playing with different teammates almost every season in Miami whilst he remains the focus of the Heat's plans. The changes have all been positive in the long run though and Wade (95) leads a lineup including Andre Kirilenko (91), Caron Butler (82) and Al Jefferson (85) that looks certain to go deep this year in the playoffs after three years absent from them!


Kevin Garnett has stayed and nothing has happened in Minnesota. They somehow got to the second round in 2010/11 but apart from that haven't made the playoffs any other year. Progress of 6 year SG Rashad McCants (81) will not be enough for Garnett to earn any trophies. KG sits between Hakeem Olajuwon and Oscar Robertson in 9th place on the NBA all time scorers chart, and 9th also on the all time rebounders chart.


Kobe Bryant never has won another title in Los Angeles after Shaq left, but Kobe lies one spot behind Allen Iverson and Wilt Chamberlain on the NBA's all time leading scorers chart and one spot above Isaih Thomas in steals too! In 2006/07 Kobe won league MVP but the Lakers didn't even make the playoffs a year later.


Lebron James still reigns in Cleveland and has led them to the playoffs every year, including three trips into the semifinals. The decline of Larry Hughes (79) and retirement of Ilgauskas hasn't helped Lebron, but the addition of some strong role-players such as C Wan Kwan (76) has kept the Cavs in title contention. Lebron can't do it all by himself though and the Cavs may look to add another superstar to pair up with or part ways with their franchise's greatest ever player.


Carmelo Anthony and the Nuggets have been consistent contenders throughout the years. The addition of SG Haji Hanson (81) and the improvement of C Nene (77) have more than made up for the retirement of Marcus Camby and the aging Kenyon Martin (82). Come the postseason, Denver should be competing in the West.


Tracey McGrady and Yao Ming are still partners in Houston with a supporting cast of some strong role-players that have come into the Rocket's system over the years and Boris Diaw (82) from Phoenix. PF Marcus Dent (78), SG Nwoye Brooke (78) and PG Josh Garner (74) were all acquired in successive rookie drafts before 2009 when Diaw was signed too. The team went on to win the 2009/10 NBA Championship and Tracey McGrady was awarded that season's MVP award.

These players still rock the league and suprisingly most of them are still playing for their "old" teams and what is also kinda strange is that like Dirk and T-Mac they had couple of "nice" seasons and now exploded again in 2011/2012. This seasons' statistical leaders. This will be my last league overview before the season resumes.


Points Per Game: Gerald Green (96) has cemented his place amongst the league's elite, leading the league in scoring for the first time in his career. 99 FG, 99 Dunking, 99 Jumping, 98 Speed and 99 Dribbling ratings have made Gerald the center of the Celtic's offense and a proud product of Boston's intense training regimes.
3rd year player Keon Baker (99) of the New Jersey Nets sits second, taking charge of the Nets offense now that Jason Kidd has retired.
Tracey McGrady (96) of the Rockets lies in 3rd, Paul Pierce (92) of the Wizards in 4th and Ron Artest (92), as well as being a defensive dynamo, also leads the Kings offense in 5th.



Rebounds Per Game: Just as Shaq retired and Dwight Howard (96) thought he could reign supreme in the East, Keon Baker (99) was drafted into the New Jersey Nets. Though they are friends off the court, the two great big-men share a potent rivalry with one another and matchups are always a Christmas Day favorite in the NBA nowadays between the Nets and Magic. Joining those two, Keon Baker's fellow draftee centre Justin Pitt (73) from Dallas is in 3rd whilst Lamarcus Aldridge (86) holds 4th in rebounds per game.


Assists Per Game: After the retirement of Steve Nash, Gilbert Arenas now has few worthy rivals competing with his league leading APG average, another reason why some consider him the best point guard since Magic Johnson.


Blocks Per Game: Once again Dwight holds forth in another bigman category! Howard leads Aldridge of the Blazers, Amare Stoudemire (98) and curiously the blocking sensation from Philly; 6'8" small forward Amos Hines (80) sits in 4th. Keon Baker is one spot behind in 5th.


Steals Per Game: OK so I guess you all know which player I control on defense now, but no matter how hard I set my stealing sliders Arenas still picks off around 5 per game! DPOY five years in a row, Gilbert Arenas' legend as a stealing point guard may never be eclipsed and his career totals continue to creep up the list of all time steals leaders in the NBA. John Stockton here I come!
Bizarrely, Rockets power forward Marcus Dent (78) is 7th in the league in SPG despite only a 21stl rating! Second year Suns sensation James Carson (98) is 10th.

To be fair, the deepest I've been with Live 07 was (and I guess still is) the playoffs of 2009-10, but what you've done is awe-inspiring. I can't wait for you to start playing some games. It'll be interesting cheering for Oxford and Rishon rather than, say Nash and Shaq (now that they've retired here).

Thankyou! Personally, Elden Oxford's become one of my favorite players. He sits at the perimeter, sends it in to Carter or Rishon who pull the double team, they fire it back out to him and he's got about 93 3PT rating to knock it down from beyond the arc!
And if the defense doesn't put a double-team on Rishon he's got 90 FG and 83 Ins Scr. and Inside Scorer FSS. Rishon doesn't have much speed but he almost always hits his inside jumper!

Gilbert, Gerald and co. put this one away quickly, outscoring and outplaying a Timberwolves squad that's long forgotten how to win. 4th year small forward Akinlabi Clayton (77) put up a valiant 28 points and veteran Kevin Garnett (89) made a dent in Boston's lead, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Celtics under coach Shing.
Gilbert Arenas had a quiet night by his standards, underpar in scoring (19), assists (9) and steals (4) though by no means failing to impress, he and Elden Oxford ran the court together, dishing 19 assists between them!
Player of the game Gerald Green also pulled off the 'play of the game' which can be seen, amongst others, in the highlights video below. The Celtics small forward shot an amazing 13-16 FG and hit 5-5 from the line!
