[Live 2005]Trailblazers Dynasty - [5-0] vs Celtics

Postby Jugs on Thu Jan 04, 2007 11:28 pm

Okay so I think I've come up with a revolutionary idea. Start at 05 and put the 05 draftees in the 05 draft... then the 06 draftees in the 06 drafts... So I'll be needing their cyperfaces.

edit: I've come up with a better idea than that but I won't reveal it until I use it.

Anyways... here's go my 2nd attempt at a live 05 Blazers dynasty  . I'll be using the 0405 opening rosters so VC'll be in Raptors, Fatoine at Hawks.. etc lol.

I haven't done a dynasty for a fucken while so I've forgotten all the minimum requirements lol.

Training Camp 04-05

GM Ronald McFocker watched as his coaches and players were met with the daunting task of training camp.

Improvements occured for the following players:
Shareef Abdur-Rahim in Free Throws, Inside Scoring, Blocking and Defensive Awareness.
Viktor Khryapa in Jumpshooting, Stealing and Defensive Awareness.
Darius Miles in Inside Scoring, Defensive Rebounding and Awareness.
Travis Outlaw in Jumpshooting, 3-Point Shooting, Inside Scoring and Stealing.
Ruben Patterson in Jumpshooting.
Joel Przybilla in Inside Scoring, Blocking, Stealing and Defensive Awareness.
Zach Randolph in Jumpshooting and Stealing.
Theo Ratliff in Jumpshooting, Free Throws and Stealing.
Sebastien Telfair in Inside Scoring and Defensive Awareness.
Damon Stoudemire in Stealing and Defensive Rebounding.
Vladimir Stepania in Defensive Rebounding and Awareness.
Richie Frahm in Blocking, Stealing and Defensive Awareness.
Derek Anderson in Defensive Rebounding and Awareness.

Overall, it was a solid training camp, especially for the young players who are looking for a place in the team.

I haven't played a game yet so lol.. admiration posts may now follow  (ego lol)

Wow, Jugs doin a dynasty ;) So you finally found a live that you have fun with, good to hear that. Well, the Blazers do not seem to be very strong with this roster, but I think you have some young guys who can really develope. Ah and you have Nick Van Exel, that is cool :)

Good luck !

Trailblazers win season opening game on the road

November 3rd, 2004

Boxscores
Portland Trailblazers
Golden State Warriors

Oakland, California - The Portland Trailblazers have begun their 2004-05 campaign on a high note with a solid victory against the Golden State Warriors. The first half was a tightly contested battle where two future stars, Jason Richardson and Zach Randolph, had a head on battle to help their respective teams gather the victory. Both players were in double digit scoring at the half time break with 15 points a piece.

The third quarter saw the Blazers use their depth help give them a small 7 point lead to start the final quarter. Nick Van Exel scored all his 9 points with 4-4 shooting in the third quarter. The fourth quarter saw the Blazers extend their lead to nine points with great plays from Darius Miles and Zach Randolph. Jason Richardson had enough and hit two straight 3 pointers to bring the margin down to three points. This was not enough and Zach Randolph had the final say by scoring the final basket and the Trailblazers took the game 108-98.

Player of the game

This was awarded to Zach Randolph for his great opening season performance of 34 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 blocks.

Middle Left: Jason Richardson was also hot with 35 points. Middle Right: Zach Randolph was also scoring from the inside.

Maurice Cheeks: "I was happy with the way the boys played tonight."

The Blazers move to 1-0 while the Warriors move to 0-1.

I always wanted to go back and do an 05 dynasty and now it'll get some views because of the "united" stories section.
Yeah I'm going to be forced to try and rebuild this shocker of a team, but I love them so much :proud: .

I really hope I do get cyberfaces for each draft class which'll add some fun.

Blazers dominate first half to give them their first home win

November 5th, 2004

Boxscores
Portland Trailblazers
Los Angeles Clippers

Portland, Oregon - Despite closing the game out poorly, the Trailblazers come out of today's game with a victory backed by their excellent first half performance. The first half saw excellent shooting displays from Derek Anderson, Zach Randolph and Nick Van Exel off the bench. The Blazers went on two 10-0 runs, one in each of the first two quarters. They finished the half ahead 71-49 and looked in total control.

The third quarter saw the Blazers criticized by their fans (boos) for poor play from both sides of the floor and allowing Corey Maggette to score 15 of his team's 21 third quarter points. The play of Corey Maggette sparked a fourth quarter run at the Blazers lead and a Mikki Moore 3 pointer (yeh I know wtf? :x ) cut the lead down to 3 points but some solid defence by the Blazers to close out the game was enough to give them their second victory of the season, 107-99.

Player of the game

Player of the game was awarded to Zach Randolph with 34 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists. That's the second time in two games he has won player of the game.

Game Pictures

Top Left: Derek Anderson had a strong first half. Top Right: Corey Maggette sparked a Clippers run with his excellent shooting.
Middle Left: Zach Randolph got sent to the line a few times. Middle Right: Joel Przybilla was rewarded on the fastbreak.
Bottom Left: Elton Brand launches and slams it hard. Bottom Right: Shareef Abdur-Rahim is forced to adjust his shot.

Corey Maggette, "I'm glad I'm being considered in the top two scoring options."
Zach Randolph, "I'm just doing what I can do for my team"

The Blazers move to 2-0 for the season and look to be in good shape. The Clippers lose their first game of the season and fall to 1-1.

Early season injury blow for the Suns

November 6th, 2004

Phoenix, Arizona - Shawn Marion has sprained his right thumb in a game against the New Jersey Nets when he went up for a third quarter dunk and was fouled while holding the ring. Team doctors say that he'll be missing atleast 4 weeks of NBA action. The 6'7" Power Forward out of UNLV currently has 5 years remaining on his contract has been averaging 12.7 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.67 steals so far in 3 games this season.

Second Half defensive effort helps Blazers to their third win

November 7th, 2004

Boxscores
Portland Trailblazers
Toronto Raptors

Toronto, Canada - A 62-49 second half sparked a third Trailblazers win out of three games. The Toronto Raptors looked in good shape in the first quarter and for most of the second quarter as they took a six point lead after the first quarter and extended out as far as 13 points midway through the second quarter. Vince Carter and most of the Raptors team began to miss shots and Zach Randolph and Theo Ratliff both cleaned up the boards nicely with 16 and 15 rebounds respectively.

The Trailblazers began to change their hard nosed defence to points on the offensive end as they took charge in the third quarter. Damon Stoudamire added 10 assists of his own to help recover their first half slump and totally dominate the Toronto Raptors in the second half. Vince Carter was seen complaining a lot to the refs after a lot of non-calls. This distraction helped the Trailblazers take their third win, 105-87.

Player of the game

Player of the game was awarded to Zach Randolph for the third straight game with a statline of 29 points, 16 rebounds and 2 steals.

Top Left: Zach Randolph throws down the alley-oop. Top Right: Theo Ratliff, another big man to throw it down.
Middle Left: Darius Miles throws down the reverse alley-oop. Middle Right: The highflyers came out to play.
Bottom Left: Strong, effective double teams helped the Trailblazers. Bottom Right: Darius Miles was solid off the bench.

Theo Ratliff: "I felt in great rebounding shape out there. I heard me and Zach (Randolph) grabbed 31 rebounds between us."
Vince Carter: "Jesus, where were the fouls in that game?"

The Trailblazers have two more games left in their Eastern Conference road trip with back to back games against the New Jersey Nets and Boston Celtics. The Raptors fall to 0-3 for the season and at home and they go on a 6 game road trip to the West. Things are not looking good for the Raptors and they could go 0-9 to start the season.

Nets lose 4th straight without Jason Kidd

November 9th, 2004

Boxscores
Portland Trailblazers
New Jersey Nets

Newark, New Jersey - Zach Randolph inspired yet another Trailblazer victory, this time against the struggling New Jersey Nets. The first quarter saw the Blazers take an early 10 point lead backed by solid shooting from Derek Anderson and the Blazers finished the quarter ahead 29-20. The Nets found some rhythym, even without star player Jason Kidd who is still recovering from offseason knee surgery (he was on the IR list in the roster update, was too lazy to "correct" each roster). Alonzo Mourning surprised everyone with his amazing rebounding, passing and scoring skills, ending the game with 20 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists. The Nets did manage to reduce the lead down to 5 at half time.

The second half saw Zach Randolph and Shareef Abdur-Rahim step it up a notch and dominate the third quarters and set up the fourth quarter for the win. The Trailblazers stayed solid with their garbage time players and took the win, 103-85. The teams recorded a combined 49 fouls.

Player of the game

This was awarded to Zach Randolph who posted a statline consisting of 22 points and 15 rebounds. Zach Randolph is off to a superb start to the season.

Game Pictures

Top Left: Richard Jefferson was trying to bring life to his team. Top Right: Theo Ratliff finishes the alley-oop.
Middle Left: Sebastien Telfair crosses Travis Best. Middle Right: Darius Miles drives in strong for the lay-up.
Bottom Left: Alonzo Mourning barges his way through to the basket. Bottom Right: Travis Outlaw was solid in the fourth.

Richard Jefferson, "Alonzo (Mourning) played like he never had that surgery."
Derek Anderson, "My man Zach is rippin' it up mayne."

The Nets have had an awful start to the season, moving to 0-4 while the Blazers are the complete opposite with 4-0. The Trailblazers face another undefeated team, the Boston Celtics, tomorow to finish their Eastern road trip.

Nick Van Exel Gamewinning 3pointer gives Blazers 5th win

November 10th, 2004

Boxscores
Portland Trailblazers
Boston Celtics

Boston, Massachusetts - a last second 3 pointer from Nick Van Exel won the Trailblazers their fifth straight game, this time against the undefeated Boston Celtics. The first quarter saw solid play from both teams and the Boston Celtics showed why they were undefeated as they took a 4 point lead to end the first quarter. The second quarter was another even battle with both teams sharing the ball around and making defensive stops. Both starting centers, Theo Ratliff and Mark Blount, finished the game with 4 blocks each. The Boston Celtics went into the halftime break ahead by 2 points.

The third quarter saw solid offensive play from the Celtics trio of Jiri Welsch, Gary Payton and Paul Pierce as they combined for 20 points to help give the Celtics a 6 point lead heading into the final quarter. The fourth quarter saw the complete opposite of what the Celtics were capable of as they began to miss a lot of shots and Zach Randolph and Darius Miles were bringing down the big defensive boards. Paul Pierce was fouled hard by Damon Stoudamire and left the game with a sore back with six minutes left in the game. This prooved vitale as the Trailblazers stormed back and hit the lead from a Darius Miles 3 pointer with 3 minutes left. The Boston Celtics weren't finished as Jiri Welsch stepped up again and hit a game tying 3 pointer with 23 seconds left in the game. The final possession of the game belonged to the Trailblazers, 93 a piece. Damon Stoudeamire was given the ball and he drove in and passed it to Darius Miles who drove in and missed a contested lay-up. Theo Ratliff pulled down the offensive rebound (first of the night) with 6 seconds left in the game and he quickly passed it out to the open Nick Van Exel and he shot a 3 pointer which went in after the buzzer. The Trailblazers won their first real challenge 96-93.

Player of the game

Zach Randolph was named player of the game for the fifth straight game with 23 points, 16 rebounds and 2 assists.

Middle Left: Darius Miles was solid off the bench. Middle Right: Mark Blount rejects Zach Randolph.
Bottom Left: Zach Randolph hanging on the rim. Bottom Right: Darius Miles finishing a fastbreak alley-oop.

Doc Rivers,"Paul Pierce's back injury was not serious and it was too early in the season to risk it so we left him out of the game. He'll definitely not miss any games."
Zach Randolph, "That was our first real test of the season and I'm glad the boys helped. Although we only used 3 subs."

The Trailblazers are the only undefeated team left in the NBA after their victory over the Celtics. This was the Celtics first loss of the season.

When I played this game before 06 was invented, I didn't mind the lack of fastbreaks but now I can't stand the shitty fastbreak logic. But everything else is beautiful.

My new idea is ambitious and hard to execute so I may stick with just adding rookies in live 2005.

Wow. A Live 2005 dynasty. Outdated sports games are pretty cheap. Maybe after I finish my season in 2K7, I'll pick a cheap copy of PC Live 2005 up and make a Live dynasty for the first time. Live 2005 is very fun. I did a Nuggets dynasty a couple years ago and I really enjoyed it.

Keep it up! Excellent graphics! Oh, and if you haven't yet, put Pryzbilla on the IR and let Stephania play.
