Live 2003 full version - framerates

Postby BoJackson on Wed Nov 13, 2002 5:06 am

Is the framerates for Live full version better than the demo? I love the game, but playing the demo game at 25 - 30 fps on 1024x768 on a good pc (1.7gig, gf4ti200) really sucks. its almost unexcusable when Madden 2003 plays at an absolute stunning 60+ fps at 1280x1024. really hope they fixed live 2003 full version to take advantage of a good pc like madden did.

can you guys post what fps you are getting on live pc full version at 1024 maxed details?

From what I can tell the frame rate is not improved, if anything it might even be a little worse. :/

That frame rate should be achievable on a much slower CPU.

damn dude, if it doesn't work great on your 2.8 gig ati9700 top of the line system, we should shoot the video/graphical programmers at EA. But seiously, getting 40 fps on a 2.53 gig system is not too great. Hope there will be a patch to take advantage of Hardware T&L like Madden's patch.

hey tony, by turning bench players and crowd to OFF, and light/reflection to LOW, did that really help in increasing FPS to 75+? with all those options to ON, did you get like 35 fps or still in the high 60's-70?

I am just trying to figure out if its only "some" good pc systems/video cards that have low framerates problem or is it a general problem across the board.

Playing on P4 2.4, 512 PC800, Asus V460 (GF4 4600). I have settings on 1600 x 1200 X 32, antisoptic filtering, trilinear buffer, v-sync on and all details set to max. I get around 35 to 40 fps, it never drops below 30. I never see any chopiness so you dont need to get over 60 fps to enjoy the game.

koolkatzgold, go download "fraps" to show fps.

Deeznutz, i know the game is playable at 35-40 fps, but its just not quite the same as running a game at 60fps. Plus there should be no excuse for a system like yours to be running at that framerate. Shitz, i mean madden has twice the players on the field at the same time compared to Live and it still runs 60+fps consistently on an average system. I have an average system (amd 1700XP and GF4 ti200), so i'll probably get around 25-30 fps at 1024 (just like the demo), and playing at 25fps sucks badd. I guess we are talking about EA here, so whats new?

I think its just with NBA live. I have madden and the framerates are in the 70's, but thats at 1280 x 1028 x 32.

Is anyone here having problems with FRAPS? I can't get the frame counter to appear unless I run at low resolution?
