Thanks for replies guys, soon will follow the last preseaon game against Utah Jazz.

Its_asdf, I would gladly trade Jackson, because I don't really like him and it would be good for developing rookies, but at the game he is very good, so I will follow the season and will watch the chemistry of the team and I will decide.

Daniels playing as PG is very interesting alternative. I will try to use him as PG in the season. Thanks for your opinion.

Pacers ended preseason with OT loss to Jazz
October 26th, 2006

Derek Fisher and Carlos Boozer were the best players of the Jazz in this game.

INDIANA PACERS 119 : 123 UTAH JAZZ

[ Pacers boxscore ][ Jazz boxscore ]

Indiana Pacers ended their preseason games with the final game against Utah Jazz. They held the record of 4 - 4 and now look forward to the start of the regular season. You will able to see the season opener for Pacers in Charlotte against Bobcats. This game was full of highlight episodes: amazing alley-oop by Sarunas Jasikevicius and Jermaine O'Neal, outstanding block by Andrei Kirilenko to Al Harrington and the buzzerbeater shot by Stephen Jackson tieing the game at the end of 4th quarter and sending the game to overtime.

So the game started flawless for the Pacers 11 : 2, but Jazz managed to close it later. Stephen Jackson had his 16 points of whole 25 in the 1st quarter. At the 2nd quarter offense dominated; as well as in the 1st quarter. But Jazz were looking better and the score was tied after the first part of the regular time.

The second half of the game started with 10 : 0 run for the Jazz and they took advantage of the game. Derek Fisher was storming the place with great shots and layups, also not forgetting his passes to the teammates. The quarter ended 85 : 69. But the Pacers didn't want to leave the game as it was, and tried to fight more and more. So after the 5 minutes of the last quarter they were trailing only by 6 points 86 : 92 with great play by Al Harrington, scoring 10 points in a row. But later Jazz again had several shots made and increased the lead. At the remaining of 2 minutes the score was 102 : 93 for the Jazz, but then 4 consecutive points were made by O'Neal, closing the lead to 5 points.

Last hopes for the Pacers, and Jazz missed another shot, so S-Jax closed the lead to only 3 points and only 28 seconds remaining. Pacers tried to defend perfectly and then risk for the tieing 3 pointer. But suddenly Jamaal Tinsley stolen the ball and quickly passed it to Granger, so he ended the atack with dunk and closed the lead to only 1 point. 3 seconds remaining and Pacers fauled Fisher. He made all 2 free throws unfortunately, so the only hope for the Pacers was to score a 3 pointer. Granger passed the ball to Stephen Jackson and his shot was accurate!! The buzzerbeater 3 pointer and the Overtime. Pacers failed to perform well in overtime, demonstrated the bad defense and lost the game 119 : 123.

Jermaine O'Neal was the team leader with 31 points and 11 rebounds. Jackson also performed well with 25 points and good all around performance with 7 rebounds and assists. Harrington also made the huge amount of points, but the big props to Danny Granger who had 17 points, 8 assists, 8 rebounds, 2 steals and 5 blocks. Marquis Daniels had very bad shooting night missing all 9 shots. Derek Fisher was the best warrior at the Jazz, he had 32 points and 11 assists. Carlos Boozer helped him also adding 19 points and 14 rebounds. Andrei Kirilenko showed himself again with great all around performance having 17 points, 9 rebounds, 6 steals and 4 blocks. It was great to watch the matchup between Kirilenko and Granger, rivalring with better all around performance.

Pacers coach Rick Carlisle was disappointed with the score of the game, with the bad performance at the overtime, but overall he said that the team is ready for the regular season matches. He still was undecided about the roster cut, but he added that it will be known very soon.

I decided not to wait for Andrew's roster and started with adjusted Jimmy's roster. You can expect more updates now.

Pacers finished the staff hiring and preparing for the opener
October 28th, 2006

Image
Ignacio Ribeiro, Jesus Cabrera, Garth Gray and Eddy Salisbury joined the team today.

Image
Player Rotation was set the day before the season opener.

Image
Pacers will have 16 games in November starting against the Bobcats.

Preseason games passed and Pacers are heading to the start of regular season. In preseason they won 4 games and lost 4 games too. Preseason showed some weak parts of their game, as well as strong parts.

One of the weakest parts still remain the Point Guard postion with injury prone Jamaal Tinsley and Sarunas Jasikevičius, who seems doesn't fit very well in NBA. One of the strongest parts of the roster is our frontcourt with Jermaine O'Neal and new offseason acquisition Al Harrington. The guys are ready for only the best game. Also good to have such young guys on the team such as Marquis Daniels, Danny Granger, Shawne Williams, Rawle Marshall, David Harrison.

Pacers will try to improve team chemistry during the season, because now it is pretty poor with some guys spoiling it such as Jamaal Tinsley and Stephen Jackson. Their future in Indiana looks very miserable and GM will probably try to look for new teams for them, unless they begin to demostrate the brilliant game.

Staff hiring was completed as Ignacio Ribeiro, Jesus Cabrera, Garth Gray and Eddy Salisbury joined the team today. They are hoping to contribute a lot and help for this team as well as they could.

Indiana Pacers will begin their road to the glory at the 1st of November against Charlotte Bobcats. This will be their season opener.

Pacers blow out Bobcats at the season opener

Jermaine O'Neal and Al Harrington did a good job against Charlotte Bobcats.

INDIANA PACERS 110 : 88 CHARLOTTE BOBCATS
3th quarter intervention

[ Pacers boxscore ][ Bobcats boxscore ]

Indiana Pacers started their season opener against Charlotte Bobcats with the victory. The game was easy as the team gained the lead at the start of the game and was increasing it all the time. It was able to hear the sounds of enjoying the win in the Pacers locker-room, so seems that the 1st victory was very important for them.

Jermaine O'Neal got the Player of the Game honors with 17 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal and 3 blocks. 9 of the 12 rebounds were offensive. S-Jax added the 26 points and was the leader in points, he had 18 already in the first half. Al Harrington's first official game with Pacers after 2 years was good, he had 23 points from the bench.

The biggest pain for the Pacers was sophomore Raymond Felton, as he managed to pour 27 points also adding 6 assists to his stats. Rookie Adam Morrison started his carrier in NBA with 25 points and with lots of shots, however his team was not able to grab a victory at the first game. Emeka had his 18 points and played pretty well defensively, but seems that he was the only who played defense in this game, 110 Pacers points just show it.

Pacers and Bobcats had 2 games at this preseason already and Pacers celebrated the 3rd consecutive win against them if we count preseason games.

The coach was happy with the result and pretty happy with the whole performance. Seems that preseason games were very necessary for us, which let me to find our game. Well, Bobcats were not one of the best teams in the league, but we are still happy, that we managed to come away with the victory and now preparing to the next game against New Orleans Hornets.

Pursuer, I intervened at the 3rd quarter, so the CPU set the starters. And it was Harrison, just because he has some percents set to start the game..

hova-, I just put some adjustments layers of brightness/contrast, color balance and sharpening a bit.

Peja kills former team with amazing performance
November 3th, 2006

Predrag Stojakovic is shooting one of his three 3 pointers. He had 37 points in this game.

INDIANA PACERS 102 : 108 NEW ORLEANS HORNETS
3th quarter intervention

[ Pacers boxscore ][ Hornets boxscore ]

The first season game at the Conseco Field was not successful, as Chris Paul along with Peja Stojakovic killed Pacers combining 68 points both. Peja, who played half of the previous season in Indiana, after being trade from Sacramento for Ron Artest, seemed very comfortable in his new place. After the match he said that it was nice to play against former team and wished best of luck in this season for Pacers.

So the real disaster started at the begining of the 3rd quarter. Peja began to shoot 3 pointers and he made 3 of 4 in this quarter. 2 of them were very painful, when the lead was increased to the double digit lead. Pacers simply had no answers for him, as Danny Granger were poor defensively against him. Then Marquis Daniels was forced to play defense against him and he did quite well. Peja was shut for a while, but then came the time for Chris Paul.

He started his show at the end of this quarter, when hit some jumpers and the quarter ended with a 13 point lead for the Hornets. Pacers wished to change something in the last period, but the effort was useless, when Paul continued his job. He outplayed Pacers' point guards at the both ends. Saras couldn't help defensively as he also struggled today with poor shooting. The same or even worse could be said about the main point guard Jamaal Tinsley. He missed all his 10 shots in the game and had only 1 point hiting one free throw.

So having such opponents, sophomore guard Chris Paul was able to do whatever he want. And he ended tonight with 31 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals. Peja had 37 points grabbing also 6 rebounds and gaining the honors of the Player of this game. The spectators were disappointing with the game especially when the lead increased 21 points after the several minutes of the start fo 4th quarter.

Thank God Pacers didn't surrend yet, and were trying to close the lead and play till the end. And they were almost near their aim of the game, when the lead was closed only to 4 points in the last minute, due to the relax of the Hornets and hard effort of the Pacers, but the time was limited and Pacers couldn't do more in this game. They lost by 6 points tonight and the game showed a lot of weak parts of their play.

One of them is just weak point guard position. Pacers' point guards made only 1 shot from 20, although dished 10 assists but were unable to defend Chris Paul. One of the brightest sides was Marquis Daniels, who stopped Peja Stojakovic at the end of 3rd quarter and also scored 19 points with great shooting percents. 4 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals were also the proof of his good all around performance. Pacers' frontcourt again were great and the coach is happy with them so far.

The coach after the game said that he was disappointed with that play in the 3rd quarter. "We will have to strengthen our defense in the next matches. This is very bad example how it is need to play defensively against this team. Of course the loss is a loss and there will be more in the season, but at first we have to think how to improve our game"- added Rick Carlisle. And the team will try to do this next day, when they meet with New York Knicks at the Madison Square Garden.

Glad that you update this one. Well the Hornets are tough to beat this season, great game by Peja and CP3, but also solid performance by Tyson Chandler with 12 boards. Youre offense was quite good, only lack of three point shooting. Defensively the stats do not show any weakness, but I think your perimeter defense was not too strong in this one.

You should definitely try to get a point guard who can shoot the ball and is quick enough to go past a defender. You know, I do not demand trades usually, but in this case I think the Pacers have to do something.
Maurice Williams is pretty solid. I could also imagine Bobby Jackson stepping up for Indiana.

Good Luck vs the Knicks, be aware of Eddy Curry. Only 81.0 ppg in two games is quite weak though.

Aaahh... Disappointment, Peja also was doing this kind of job against me, but I was able to win, nearly... You weren't so successful, though the win for Hornets looks a bit weird, cause the bench scored only 6 points, while at mine they were outstanding(I think)...

Well, better luck next time!

P.S. Knicks should be easy...

hova-, thanks for your post. My defense was really bad, because I was not concentrated enough and was letting Peja to shoot from whatever he wants, and with such point guards it's difficult to stop Paul, so I will really consider about the trade to change it, although I'm not a fan of crazy trades and bla bla, you know.. :)

Pursuer, well you probably know why their bench scored only 6 points. Yes, you know... No subs

Stephon Marbury was the main guy for the Knicks, scoring 26 points.

INDIANA PACERS 100 : 98 NEW YORK KNICKS
3th quarter intervention

[ Pacers boxscore ][ Knicks boxscore ]

Indiana Pacers after the difficult game against the Hornets at the home opener travelled to New York to play against Knicks. Madison Square Garden was lucky for the Pacers today as they managed to play the end without mistakes and grabbed the 2nd win in this season.

Knicks who played at home were trailing after the 2 quarters and tried to close the game, but Pacers were just playing better tonight. Marquis Daniels replaced struggling Tinsley at the PG position and Saras replaced S-Jax at SG to give the rest for him. Saras hit some shots and had 7 consecutive points.

This offensive minded quarter finished with the increased lead by the Pacers to 11 points. The task for players was just to play as they played and don't entangle with the Knicks style of play and they were doing well until the 4 minutes till the end of the game. Then suddenly Knicks gained a momentum and started the run 10 : 0. The real fight began then.

So Knicks closed the lead to only 1 point and all the court was pumped for that event. Now Pacers tried to play with the big men and the choice was good. O'Neal and Harrington made some important jumpers, but were unable to play good defense, so Knicks made the game tieing 3 pointer and only 37 seconds left till the end. Harington went for the layup, but was fauled.

He made these cluch free throws and the Knicks ran to the offense to perform the last attack and grab the victory. But Marbury failed to perform well and Jamaal Tinsley grabbed the rebound after the missed shot and was fouled. He however missed them 2 and Knicks had final 3 seconds, but their 3 pointer from the center court was not accurate and Pacers started to celebrate the 2nd victory in this season.

Jermaine o'Neal was anounced as the player of the game with good all around performance. Jackson had team high 20 points and contributed to the win importantly. Pacers had their problem to stop Marbury, who had 26 points and was passing very well tonight - 10 assists in his stats. Now Philadelfia 76ers await for the Pacers as they will try to increase their winning streak to 2.

The ball looks so real in this one...God, what you're doing to these pics??

Wow, what a great game for you... Really great bench production and 3pt shooting... (Y) Though I doubt if the game would've been so hard if not the 4th quarter by Knicks... I hate those moments when opponents do whatever they want in the last period, glad you were able to win... Good luck against Sixers, they shouldn't be hard...
