Donatello's Portland Trailblazers Dynasty
The basics: I created myself (Joshua Carr) as a point guard, and then went to fantasy draft. The Blazers had the fourth pick, and I selected myself (was a 73 overall). I then selected the worst players possible (seriously- the 50ish guys) for the rest of the fantasy draft. I did not make any free agent signings (except undrafted rookies and the occasional 55-60ish veteran) for four seasons. I simmed, trained with coaches, and got high picks in the draft. This dynasty will pick up at the beginning of the 2009-2010 season.

Settings:
10 minute quarters
All-Star (tweaked sliders)
Starting roster: Andrew's final 06 update
29-game season
3-3-3-3

2009-2010 Blazers Season Preview

Associated Press: After four long years of loss after loss, it looks like the Portland Trailblazers are prepping for what might be a breakout year. Veteran point guard Joshua Carr is returning of course; while he is coming off his worst season statistically, he's still young and having some more viable options on offense will help take the pressure off of him.

The Boston Celtics had the first pick in the draft this year, and passed on Italian small forward Vito Brooks. The Blazers snagged him up, and he is a preseason favorite for rookie of the year.

The twin brothers Abu and Atsu Bogues are back as well, rumor has it they've been working out hard all summer long. The team plans to start Abu at Center and have Atsu play a backup forward/center role.

Finally making a few veteran free agent signings, Portland picked up Wally Sczcerbiak, Jumaine Jones, and Raef Lafrentz to provide a bit of leadership off the bench. While they're all well past their respective primes, they certainly have enough gas left in the tank to make some good contributions.

Game one: @ Indiana Pacers

Opening the season on the road is never easy, especially against a club like Indiana. The Pacers have the dominant offensive veterans Richard Jefferson and Al Harrington on their side, as well as the stable big man defender Chris Kaman.

First QuarterThe Blazers came out swinging- hopping to a quick 12-0 start (10 of which were scored by fifth-year point Joshua Carr). The Pacers answered with a run of their own, and the Blazer lead was only three at the end of the first.

Second QuarterPortland's Abu Bogues (who's twin brother also plays for the team) started the second quarter with a monster block on Al Harrington. The Blazers kept up the defensive intesity and raised their lead to seven points at halftime.

Third QuarterThe third quarter belonged to the Pacers.... well... mostly Richard Jefferson. The crafty veteran poured in sixteen of his twenty-eight points in the third. Heading into the final quarter, Indiana led by one.

Fourth QuarterBoth teams played absolutely hounding defense in the fourth. Portland scored 14 points in the entire period, and Indiana was held to 10. It was enough, though- for a 3 point Blazer victory. Tonight's win marked the first time the Portland Trailblazers have won their first game of the season in four years.

((Working on some new jerseys for this dynasty, since it's in the "future". Working on the home one- this isn't a final version yet but here's a preview:

Iwanaka on his way out?

It looks like a change or two might be brewing for the young Blazers. Word is that coach Nate McMillan is unhappy with the attitude of fourth-year forward Ken Iwanaka, and not too thrilled with his decline in stats so far this year. Many teams would be foolish not to be interested in this young talent- stay tuned.

Meh. I think I agree with the guy now about having dynasty stories in one section so ones from older games get noticed :P

I'm still gonna post about this one, but I am probably going to skip through time a bunch. heh.

Don't worry about not getting replies, just enjoy your dynasty.

Well actually it's difficult to update when no one replies
