Stop pretending Cable, your ignorant ass has been busted.

Those Tenacious D cartoons looks like it was made by the guy who made Ren and Stimpy.

Thu Nov 30, 2006 9:58 pm

^Good job at reading the comment on the video...

This isn't the first time the Spümcø crew (of Ren & Stimpy fame) have collabed with The D

Anyways, what ever the concept behind that duo is supposed to be, it's neither funny nor decent in any other aspect, it's just aweful.

Did you just remove the stick from your ass and realized that you are giant asshole?
I didn't watch the whole video, I'm not a big fan of that type of cartoon.

Fri Dec 01, 2006 12:37 am

^What the hell are you on about? The quote I posted was from this site: http://www.stereogum.com/archives/003833.html right above the video. You didn't have to watch the whole video to see that. And yeah, I don't like this either.

Fri Dec 01, 2006 12:56 am

I know it's from the site, just saw it.
My bad.
I'm a bit edgy today.
No, I'm not on drugs. Drugs are bad.
Maybe too much sugar, I don't know.

Maybe some John Legend-Save Room will calm me down.

Yeah i know those cartoons arent liked by all: its simply crude for the sake of crude and while some people find it funny many people dont. I can live with that.

Now about the concept of the band, I truly have to disagree about it not being funny. The concept is two run of the mill guys forming a band. How many guys talk about "man were going to make a band, and we're going to be millionaires!" when they're younger. To me, the fact there is a band that says in a song "i know what you're thinking...i'm gonna buy me a couple oversized guitars, gain 40 pounds and be the next D!" They know they're a joke and dont really try to hide it. And how even with ridiculous lyrics; if the playing is good enough it can truly carry a band. I doubt the D is getting any sales on teeny boppers thinking they have nice abs or neo-hippies saying their poetry is moving. They amuse me to no end and I have heard very few bands in recent years play as well as them, so i have no problems supporting them and enjoying their music: as ridiculous as it may seem.

They're actually quite talented. And Jack Black has a hell of a voice.

I remember seeing a DVD a few years ago of their songs with movie clips interlaced with sketches. Or something like that.

PDA (We just don't care) is a good one too (Y)

I guess it's just a matter of taste. To me they're definetely not funny but if you find them funny enjoy their music.

To all the rap fans, in my eyes it's about time to start some type of poll for the album of the year. Maybe everyone posts his top 5, the 1st place gets 5 points, the 5th gets 1 and then we count the points to find out which rap album of 2006 people around here liked the most.

Its called Tenacious D: Masterworks and its a compilation of their HBO series and I believe a concert. Once in awhile on Comedy Central they'll show the tamer episodes of it.

I haven't bothered searching this thread. But has anyone watched Metal: A headbangers journey?

I saw it a couple of weeks back, and thought it was pretty good. Sure there were alot of notable omissions and some bands placed in the sub-genre of metal.

The comments from the metal legends were hilarious though. And some were just straight outrageous.

for example : An interview with the members of Mayhem ( wikipedia them.. its some pretty morbid stuff..)

Necrobutcher (Mayhem): Could you repeat the question?
Sam Dunn: Alot of people think that Black Metal is starting to lose touch...
Necrobutcher (Mayhem): [cuts Sam off] Which ones? Who are they? Who the fuck are you talking to? FUCK THEM! Ya know...
Sam Dunn: ...Do you have a comment on that?
Necrobutcher (Mayhem): Yeah, I got a comment... FUCK YOU!

Still a month left, I've still got some apparent highlights to listen to, and a shitload of albums just leaked. But here's my top 5.

The Roots - Game Theory
Ghostface - Fishscale
Cunninlynguists - A Piece of Strange
Gnarls Barkley - St. Elsewhere
AZ - The Format

This track is just so nice ... one the one hand you have to say it is a lil bit too much of a love song. But on the other hand it is just amazing.

It's not too much really since the lyrics is basically what the title says and it's usually what most couples do.

I seem to like John Legend the second time around, It's like listening to Barry White or Marvin Gaye.

I thought your favorite of all time is William Hung?

I thought it was common knowledge that anytime someone is referred to as the best musician that they are actually being called 2nd best to dub-Hung. Well third if you count Chuck Norris.

What do you feel more: Fishscale or More Fish?

Tue Dec 05, 2006 7:58 am

Saigon's new mixtape is leaked.

And I just realize I've been really really really sleeping on Joe Budden. :x I thought Pump It Up was a mainstream joint and it kinda turned me off. I "got" his Mood Muzik 2 mixtape like 6 months ago and never really gave it a good listen. I started really listening to it about a month or so ago because Ir eally felt like I needed someone else to listen to and I'm addicted. Someone hit me with a sledge hammer.

Tue Dec 05, 2006 4:57 pm

*hits him with a sledge hammer*

Joe Budden is fantastic.

As for the Ghostface question, I'll tell you which one I like better when I listen to More Fish. I'm waiting to get the retail on the 12th.

Wed Dec 06, 2006 6:55 pm

Has anyone listened to Kramer's Racist Rant Remix. Possibly the greatest song ever made.

Wed Dec 06, 2006 6:57 pm

^ It's hysterical.

Thu Dec 07, 2006 2:27 pm

I've been listening to Joe Budden. I like him.
