New Orleans Hornets vs. Golden State Warriors 95 - 90

1st Quarter

The Warriors host the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets tonight and are looking forward to a tough game. Only after two minutes of the first quarter, Andris Biedrins had already picked up two fouls and was benched by coach Don Nelson. The home team fought hard but found it difficult to contain the duo Peja Stojakovic and Chris Paul. The Hornets up by 8 near the end of the first. After a time-out call by the Warriors, Richardson who already has three fouls and Mickael Pietrus were benched. The shuffel of personell paid off as Baron Davis and Mike Dunleavy played together beautifully narrowing the gap to 4. Score at the end of the first 24-20 for New Orleans.



Second Quarter
Possession after possession passed but no team was able to score. Marcus Vinicius ended this streak with a beautiful three pointer which was immediately answered by a long three by Dajuan Wagner. No team was able to build a solid lead. Baron Davis and Bobby Jackson had a nice performance this quarter, each scoring several buckets and dishing out a couple of assisst. Hornets up 44 - 42.

Third Quarter
A great offensive effort at the beginning of the third quarter gave the Warriors their first lead of the night after a showboard move by Baron Davis. Chris Paul held the Hornets in the game scoring 14 points in the third quarter. The Warriors lost a little bit of momentum near the end of the third allowing the hornits some easy buckets. The quarter ended with the hornets up 69 - 66.



Fourth Quarter
The close game continued in the final quarter of the game. Jason Richardson and Chris Paul ran the offense scoring bucket after bucket to hold their teams in the game. Penny Hardaway had to leave the game midway of the fourth quarter after a hard mid-air collison with Chris Paul. His leg-injury seemed to be a serous one as he was not able to return to the game. Mike Dunleavy missed an open three with one minute remaining which gave the hornets a 5 point lead near the end of the fourth. The Hornets were able to hold their lead. Warriors lost 95 - 90.

Warriors acquire Mike Miller

The Golden State Warriors announced today the acquisition of Shooting Guard Mike Miller who played for the Memphis Grizzlies. The Warriors sent Small Forward Mike Dunleavy Jr. to the Grizzlies. Miller is the long wanted three point thread the team was looking for throughout the whole off-season. Miller is going to play in the Warriors' next game against Phoenix.

Well finally! Are you going to play him as SF? Or SG and put Richardson at SF?

Neither SF nor SG I have three guys in my starting five who can score 20 + ponts a game. Adding another offensive threat is not necessary. I'd rather start Pietrus because of his defensive abilities and bring Miller off the bench to provide more scoring opportunities when my starters are on the bench. But he will be sharing time playing SF and SG such as Rodney Carney.

Ah ok. Good choice, so Miller will be able to win 2nd consecutive 6th player award

Golden State Warriors vs. Phoenix Suns113 - 116

1st Quarter
The Golden State Warriors are now off to a seven-game roadtrip starting tonight in Phoenix. It's the first game for the Warriors with newly acquired Shooting Guard Mike Miller. Point Guard Penny Hardaway has recovered from his injury but still has problems with his leg. The Suns and the Warriors played a high-speed game but no team had a clear advantage. The Suns went on a 9-0 scoring streak but Mike Miller kept his new team in the game. Despite Boris Diaw's 10 points in the first the Warriors up 21-20 at the end of the first.



Second Quarter
The Warriors lost all flow of the game as they missed their first seven shots in the second quarter while the suns scored over and over again. The Warriors fought their way back after a technical foul by Jahidi White. Steve Nash hit three consecutive three pointers to give the suns a 13 point lead midway through the second. The Warriors once again tried to fight back and a center-court buzzer beater by Jason Richardson ended the second quarter. Phoenix up 46 - 51.

The third quarter began and Steve Nash was still hot from beyond the arc hitting three pointer after three pointer to give the Suns a ten point lead. This time it was Shawn Marion who caused trouble by scoring 12 points and grabbing 5 rebounds in the third quarter. The Warriors obviously lost any flow to their game but could prevent the suns from increasing their lead significantly. The score at the end of the third: 69 - 80.



Fourth Quarter
We didn't see the same team in the fourth quarter as the Golden State Warriors, who played Randolph at Center and Diogu at Power Forward, battled to decrease a 11 point deficit to only 5 points early in the fourth by outscoring the Suns 12 - 4. Baron Davis went on a scoring spree along with Jason Richardson to tie the game at 90 - 90 with three minutes left to play. After a back and fourth Mike Miller hit a three pointer to tie the game once again and force overtime.



Overtime
102 - 102 after four quarters and the game went to overtime. Boris Diaw dominated the Overtime with 10 points. The Warriors fought out on the court but Baron Davis missed a three pointer to force second overtime. Suns win 116 - 113

I think you've posted once here when I can remember correctly. Nevertheless, it was a good trade for me. Interesting is that reloading your dynasty over and over again changed the interest indicator. Sometimes they accepted the trade and sometimes not.

Tough loss, though I'm happy about the current performance of Baron Davis, it seems he's gonna be healthy this year...

I do not like Dunleavy Jr. aka Mr. Fundamentals, but I think that you did not really need Miller. Youre really lacking of a big man, since Randolph is more a scorer than rebounder and shotblocker and Jahidi White ... man he is just not worth one dollar of your salary.

Golden State Warriors vs. Atlanta Hawks 88 - 81

1st Quarter
The Warriors continued their road trip tonight in Atlanta where the team faced the Hawks. The Warriors are looking to rebound from a disappointing overtime loss in Phoenix two days ago. The Warriors had trouble to cope with the speed of Joe Johnson and Speedy Claxton and got into foul trouble early in the game. With Davis and Biedrins out nearly the entire first quarter Zach Randolph and Jason Richardson took over the scoring and along with the defensive effort of Penny Hardaway stopping Speedy Claxton the Warriors were able to stay in the game. Warriors up 27 - 24 at the end of the first.



Second Quarter
After a nice start in the second quarter the Warriors missed their next eight shots to let the Hawks regain a 1 point lead midway through the second. The Warriors then struggled on the offensive end where hardly any shot was falling. Only a great defensive effort prevented a big lead by the hawks. Warriors down 43 - 49.

Third Quarter
The Warriors focused on offensive execution and it paid off as they narrowed the gap constantly. Mike Miller finally found his rythm after missing every single shot in the last two quarters. Center Andris Biedrins finished a nice dunk with 2 minutes left to tie the game at 57. A very competitive quarter ended with the Hawks having a minimal lead of 2 points. The score is 57 - 59 for the Hawks.



Fourth Quarter
Golden State is a strong fourth quarter team. The only question is whether they can build up and contain a lead to win the game. They struggled to do so in the past few games. The Warriors built a solid 8 point lead due to Jason Richardson's and Andris Biedrins' solid performance. The end of the fourth developed into a intentional foul frenzy but the Warriors could lean back and watch Anthony Roberson and Mike Miller take the game home due to a nice performance at the line. Warriors win in Atlanta 88 - 81

Well that's true but Biedrins and Randolph are doing fine. White is a FA after this season and I'm currently looking for a defensive minded Center in the draft.

Just an animation bug after stepping out of bounds. Williams was stuck in this pose for over 10 seconds.

I hope to develop Biedrins more, I like his defensive abilities, his scoring is pretty much useless as he can't hit anything but dunks when he stands right under the basket. But I'm definately gong to keep him after the season.

Randolph lifts Warriors over Knicks

Golden State Warriors vs. New York Knicks 101 - 97

1st Quarter
It's game three of the Warriors road-trip and they face the New York Knicks tonight in Madison Square Garden. With Small Forwas Quentin Richardson out the Warriors see a good chance to take away their second consecutive win on the road. The game was a back and forth of lead changes early in the first. Zach Randolph looked really confident out on the court tonight scoring 10 points midway through the third and playing strong on defence. Steve Francis held the Knicks in the game and ended the quarter with a three point play to tie the game at 23.



Second Quarter
The second quarter started with a nice push from the Knicks. Kelvin Cato managed to drive past his defender several times to give the home team a seven point lead. Due to the effort of Penny Hardaway and Mike Miller the Warriors came back from the deficit. The game tied at the end of the second at 47.

Eddie Curry dominated the paint early in the third to help the Knicks regain a five point lead. The Warriors put Randolph as Center to help contain the dominance of Curry. With Baron Davis sitting on the Bench due to foul trouble the Warriors are counting on Anthony Roberson to run the offense. Stephon Marbury went on a hot streak at the end of the third to give the Knicks a 70 - 77 lead.



Fourth Quarter
And once again the Warriors proved to be one of the best fourth quarter teams in the leage as they transformed a 7 point deficit into a 4 point lead midway through the third quarter. Barion Davis had picked up his fifth foul but was left on the floor. With 1 minute left Jamaal Crawford hit two consecutive threes to give the Knicks another 1 point lead. Zach Randolph and Baron Davis controlled the scoring in the last minute and the Warriors could come away with their second win on the road. 101 - 97.

Warriors win against Celtics due to terrific first half

Golden State Warriors vs. Boston Celtics 97 - 87

1st Quarter
It's the next game for the Warriors in the east where they face the Paul Pierce and his Boston Celtics. The Warriors are looking to improve to 3-0 on the road. The Celtics on the other hand are still waiting to win their first game after losing their first seven. The Warriors looked more confident out there and quickly outscored the Celtics 21-8. With Wally Szczerbiak benched due to foul trouble Jason Richardson was able to score at will as he put down 13 points in the first quarter. Baron Davis may be looking for another double double as he already dished out 8 assists. The Warriors up 33-18.


Second Quarter
Nothing new in the second. Even with lineup changes the Celtics were not able to stop the Warriors' run as they incresead their lead steadily. The Warriors played no starters in the second quarter but managed to maintain the lead easily. Warriors up 57 - 37 at the end of the half.

Third Quarter
The Celtics tried to focus early in the third and narrowed the gap to 12 due to a decent performance by Paul Pierce. The Warriors missed several shots on the offensive end but a good defensive effort prevented the further vanishing of the lead. But the unbelievable happend, with an outstanding performance by Wally Szczerbiak, who scored 21 points in the quarter, the Celtics managed to outscore the Warriors 14-30 in the third and reduced the gap to only 4. Warriors up 71 - 67.



Fourth Quarter
And with 5 minutes to play the Celtics got their first lead of the game being up 74-73. But the Warriors found their rythm again and regained the lead with 2 mintues to go. Mike Miller hit a three-pointer with 1 minute left to give the Warriors a nine point lead. Warriors in despite a atrocious third quarter performance 97 - 87.

Although I live in Massachusetts, I hate Wally Szczerbiak, so that J-Rich dunk on his is orgasmically beautiful.

I hate Szczerbiak as well, he hits shot after shot even with the cpu double teaming him. He's much more difficult to stop than Pierce.

Actually it was my fault, I think I played to sloppy after the big lead. And Wally was really annoying with his shots. Well, next game will be online in a couple of hours and then I'll focus on something special for the dynasty.

It was a really competitive game in the second quarter as both teams fought hard for every points. The Warriors looked more confident in the paint than in the first quarter. Kirk Hinrich and Ben Gordon had the hot hand and made the Warriors defence look not good. The Bulls were able to hold off the Warriors attacks and finished the quarter being up 52 - 42.

Halftime Report
The Warriors struggled scoring in the paint in the first quarter due to the impressive performance of Ben Wallace. The found their rythm in the paint but could not contain the outside scoring of Kirk Hinrich and Ben Gordwon which allowed the Bulls to build a comfortable 10 point lead at half-time. While Baron Davis and Jason Richardson played as solid as ever, Zach Randolph and Mike Miller struggled in the first half and could not find their shooting touch.

Third Quarter
The Warriors continued to struggle on the offensive end and only Baron Davis fought brave to keep the warriors somehow in the game. The outside touch of the Bulls backcourt was still an issue as the lead increased steadily. Jason Richarson hit no shot in the third and was benched and will propably stay there till the end of the game. The Bulls up after the third 74 - 57.

Fourth Quarter
The Warriors are usually a very strong fourth quarter team but it will take a miracle to come back from this huge deficit. Mike Miller did the right thing to spark the Warriors offense with opening the quarter with a three. And there seemed to be no exception of the fourth quarter rule as the Warriors narrowed the gap to 10 early in the fourth. But the Bulls bounced back with clever teamplay and managed to increase their lead another time.

I have to admit that the Bulls played a great game today. They knew exactly were our weaknesses are and exploited them. But there are not only negative things I and the team take home from this game. Baron Davis once again showed that he can keep cool and play with brain. Jason got to emotional tonight in the third that forced me to put him on the bench. While Mike struggled in the first half he found his touch in the fourth; he's really a clutch player.

Once again we were killed on the boards. It is pathetic to let Ben Wallace grab 25 points along with several blocks. We know he is dominant but we did a bad job boxin him out. We have to focus more on this issue if we want to keep up with the other teams. Another thing which nees improvement is our outside touch, it is too inconsistant to win games against teams with tough interior defence."
