Hey, I really had problems starting this, the first reason was the fact that Live 07 without patch was not playable in dynasty mode (82 games/no subs), but I think, although the new patch does not really fix anything for me, that a 82 season is playable with intervention and that in this case the Subs will not be a problems since they sub while simulating.
The second problem is that I am kinda busy with school usually. So please do not expect one update after another, school has priority for me.
Just wanted to say that in before.
So here is what you can expect:

 82 Games / 3-3-3-3 Playoffs
 3rd/4th quarter Intervention
 Sim/Played Quarter Length: 12 mins
 Own Sliders/Roster (almost current)
 Difficulty Super-Star

I have chosen the Atlanta Hawks this year. Those, who followed my Knicks dynasty know that I have a soft spot for young, developing teams that do not seem to be too strong (or do even have a catastrophic financial condition ;) ).
A big factor for me in Dynasty Mode is realism. I am not a fan of big blockbuster trades all the time and I do try to boost my franchise by moves that help reducing the salary cap or bring me a player I do really really need. My focus is on training the young Hawks players and making the best out of everybody. So I hope you will enjoy this one just as much as I do writing this stuff and presenting it although I cannot guarantee very many updates, please respect that. Like always I want

to thank all the patchers making this video game so enjoyable !

Well It's about time :D

Atlanta Hawks, interesting choice, lots of young guys, huge potential, highlight factory...

Regarding that you always make good decisions on trades, you should make it to the playoffs with a nice roster and probably make this dynasty one of the top...again...

Good luck with the dynasty -hove. I'll be following this one definately! I know what you mean when saying it's not really playable even with the patch. I play for nearly one hour with subbing for me and the CPU as well as recapping and taking screenshots. But nevertheless I enjoy it :)

October, 17th

Atlanta, Georgia
One week before their final Training Camp and just two week before the first game of the season (Nov. 1st @PHI) the Atlanta Hawks presented their roster for the 06/07 season. Newly acquired General Manager C. Hov, who left the New York Knicks after helping them to start a rebuild and headcoach Mike Woodson as well as Bruce Levenson, shareholder of the Atlanta Spirit, LLC gave a press conference Tuesday to talk about their goals, the financial condition of the franchise and to present the final roster.

"No financial problems"
"The Altanta Spirit, LLC is in fund of a nice amount of money and is able to bring this franchise into higher regions financially", Levenson said. Also the Hawks have a free cap space of 2.83M $, but "we do not plan to sign any player in the next time since we do not see a player on the free agent market who could help our franchise"

"No need to rush"
"The main goal is to keep the trend upwards(The Hawks doubled their number of victories from 13 to 26) and to grow as a team and individually. We want to give our young players the chance and the time to develope. There is no need to rush or even to talk about the Playoffs", General Manager Hov claimed after being asked about the season goals of his new franchise." It does not make any sense to pressure this young team, we all know that we can create something this season, but we look into the future and I think for this club it is very bright.

Fourteen-Man Roster
The roster of the Atlanta Hawks contains 14 players this year, two rookies, Shelden Williams and Solomon Jones, two newly acquired players, Lorenzen Wright and Speedy Claxton as well as four sophomores. With an average age of 24.2 years the Hawks have the youngest roster of all NBA teams and only one player over 30 (Lorenzen Wright)."We know that our team is very young, but I think in a 82 game season this is not an disadvantage. Our players are hot, they want to play, to achieve something, this makes it easy for me to coach them and to motivate them every day again.", Mike Woodson meant. Let´s take a closer look at the Hawks players.

Image

Center

ImageImage
The Hawks have two interesting players at this position. The Georgian newcomer Zaza Pachulia has proven himself as a beast at the offensive glass (3.4 ORPG) and a post scoring thread (11.5 PPG). With only 22 years he has still room to grow and could celebrate his breakout party this year. His versatility and (for a european player) good physical strength should give him the spot in the starting five.
Lorenzen Wright was signed by the Hawks by the end of August. After five years in Memphis playing for the Grizzlies he is for the second time in Atlanta. He has a solid low post game and brings some power offensively. He can be a shotblocker at times and should be able to contribute to the team defense. But he will only be backup, also because of his weak midrange game.

Power Forward

ImageImageImage

Two young guns on the Power Forward position for the Hawks. Marvin Williams, number two pick of last years draft, is the starter and although he had only an average rookie season, Mike Woodson puts a lot of trust in him. Well known for his allround game, Williams seems to be a little bit to small for the Power Forward spot. But his versatility and leaping ability as well as his solid mid range jumper make him a handful for defenders.
His defensive abilities are still to improve, but for tough Power Forwards the Hawks could bring Shelden Williams. The Duke Center should play the Forward position due his lack of height. He is a defensive powerhouse, with a very good shotblock timing and leap. He is able to box out and to defend physical dominant players. His weakness is his jumpshot and he will have problems on offense adapting to the NBA. Rookie Solomon Jones will not be part of the rotation but will see his minutes in blowout´s 4th quarters. A pretty good athlete, who needs to work on his shot.

Small Forward

ImageImage

Josh Smith is the man for the Small Forward spot. A ridiculous leaper, Smith is able to dunk on opponents, score around the basket and, maybe the most spectacular, block shots. He is averaging 2.0 blocks per game for his career. His physique is almost perfect for a Forward and he is able to run the floor. And he is said to have worked on his jumper, his only weakness so far. Matt Freije will be his backup, but will not see many minutes, since Smith is very important for the Hawks. Freije can score around the basket but is very weak defensively.

Shooting Guard

ImageImageImage

Joe Johnson is the Hawks´ leader. After averaging 20.2 points, 6.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game last season he has established as the franchise player in Atlanta. His ability to score is unbelievable. He can create his own shot, drive to the hoop and is deadly from the three point line (.409%). His playmaking ability will not be so important this season although he has proven himself with this part of his game. Moving to the shooting guard position this year should give him another boost.
Josh Childress will be the backup for Johnson but could also see some minutes on the Small Forward Spot, since there are not that many alternatives. He can drive to the basket and finish difficult plays. His speed allows him to guard smaller opponents, but his lack of strength makes it hard to defend around the hoop. He has developed a solid jumper, but should still improve in this area.
Salim Stoudamire is another option on the two-guard spot. He is able to drive and to shoot, but is too small to defend the A-guards of the league like Kobe or Pierce. His quickness also allows him to play point guard, but he should have his biggest impact by shooting threes (.372%).

Point Guard

ImageImageImage

The starting point guard in this season should be Speedy Claxton. Signed in July, Claxton should be able to carry some weight Joe Johnson had to due being bounded by the playmaker position. Claxton is very fast and knows how to deal the ball (4.8 APG). The fact that he is a very weak three point shooter does not matter, since Mike Woodson wants him to go the basket and kick the ball out to Joe Johnson or other shooters. Also Tyronn Lue is able to shoot the ball and could come into the game when they need another shooter. Lue is an eight year veteran and the second oldest player the Hawks on roster. He can score, dish out the ball and also intercept passes, but has problems on defense against bigger guards. Royal Ivey should not see very much minutes as the third point guard, but is always able to contribute due his solid jumpshot.

Ocotber, 20th
Atlanta, Georgia
One day before the start of their ten day training camp the Atlanta Hawks officials announced four additions to their coaching staff.
Javier Leon will join Larry Drew, Herb Brown, Bob Bender, Greg Ballard and David Fizdale to assist Head Coach Mike Woodson.
He will also have more impact since he was named the Assistan Head Coach. He is well known as a League-Insider and a big leader (A). Although he does not like to go into detail of any rumours (C) he is overall known as one of the best (A-), especially because of his great knowledge about player development (A)
Zach O´Keefe will join Pete Radulovic as an Assistan Coach/Player Performances. As he was a famous shooter in his prime, O´Keefe should be able to teach the Hawks youngsters the right shooting touch. They way he trains offense and has always helped his ex-teams and is satisfying (C), but his is just offensive minded and will not give any defense or athletics sessions (D-/D).
Athletic Trainer Wally Blase also got some backing in Antonio Lopez, who is able to analyze every arm injury and is more than solid (B).
Scout J.T. Leon was the last addition. An NCAA expert, he will try to get the Hawks some sweet future.
So the Atlanta Hawks will start the training camp tomorrow emphasizing their offense, especially their shooting. "We have a lot of young players, who lived from their athleticism in college, but in the NBA you need a solid jumper or you won´t make it, unless you are Shaq", GM Chris Hov told the media. We will report from the Hawks training camp and hope to see a lot of improvement.

Columbia, S.C
Five days out of ten for the media to observe the Atlanta Hawks while their training camp at the University of South Carolina Basketball Practice Facility. A generous offer by the Hawks coaching staff which was really appreciated by TV, newspaper and radio.
The camp was about different tests, how fit the players are, who had been lazy due the last two free weeks and who had worked hard. Furthermore the coaches focused on playing together and on offense. "For me the most important thing was the offensive part. With Zach O´Keefe we hired a very good shooting coach and that´s where my hope was., Mike Woodson claimed. And all in all there were some suprises for the Hawks, also in the shooting area.
Marvin Williams played very impressive, hitting shots (+1 Mid-Range/+1 3Pt., posting up (+1 Ins. Sc.) and also made a good figur at the charitiy stripe (+1 Ft.). Same for Josh Smith, who hit almost every shot from the freethrow line (+1 Ft.) and even has been seen alone in the gym shooting freethrows.
He also gave a good impression while the 5on5s with good positioning and seemed to be highly motivated (+1 Off. Aw.).
Zaza Pachulia was also one of the winners of the camp. He was able to run the floor without loosing control and opened himself up very well several times (+1 Off. Aw./+1 Ballhandl.).
Salim Stoudamire looked pretty good in sharp when it came to slashing (+1 Ins. Sc./+1 Off. Aw.) and Esteban Batista was also able to contribute on offense several times (+1 Mid-Range/+1 Ins. Sc.)

The season opener for the Hawks will be in two days against the Philadelphia 76ers @ Wachovia Center. The next two days will be free for the players to regenerate from the long camp, but if you ask Josh Smith this is the last thing he needs."I´m definitely hot, I can´t wait for AI and his Sixers, we are really motivated, I think this will be our year". Let´s see if this will be the year for the Atlanta Hawks and if they can keep their motivation during the whole season.

The Atlanta Hawks will compete in thirteen games in November, six away from Atlanta, seven in the Phillips Arena. There will be no longer road trip with only two consecutive road games (@ORL 10/25 / @WAS 10/28). The Hawks will meet every team of their Division (Magic, Heat, Wizards, Bobcats), as well as seven Eastern Conference competetors and one team from the West. (Sonics)
"So you can say this will be a pretty important month for us, with tough games vs the Heat and the Magic, the best teams in our division when you ask me", Mike Woodson told NBA.com yesterday after being asked what he expects from his team this month.
Feel free to post your prognosis of November and what you think the Hawks can do this month.

The Heat and the Bulls as well as the Lakers and the Suns were outplaying the season openers of the NBA season 06/07 tonight and both times the home team was able to pull away the win.
The Heat were able to handle 30 points by Ben Gordon because of their great frontcourt game. The Lakers showed great teamplay and good threepoint shooting (10-22) to beat the Suns for whom Shawn Marion and Amare Stoudemire combined for 52 points.

thx for your comments guys, I wont post otheres teams boxscores too often, but this time I thought I needed something interesting next to the schedule.

Good luck at the season opener vs Phila. Just interesting that in Hawks' schedule in November there are only one team from the West. And I think at the end of november you will have like 5-6 victories, like in real life.

November, 1st

The Philadelphia 76ers will host the Atlanta Hawks in tonight´s season opener for both teams. 19000 tickets were sold for this opener, although it does not seem to be the most interesting game tonight, since we have other matchups like the Clippers meeting the Suns and will try to take revenge for last year´s playoff loss or the Wizards meeting the Cavs with exactly the same goal. For Philadelphia this will be one of five homegames in November. The 76ers, who were not able to make the playoffs last year when they finished with only 38 wins but 44 losses, are willed to get on the right track fast. "Yes, we were kinda nervous at the end of last season, that is why we should try to clinch the berth much earlier this season", Allen Iverson says. With no player injured they should try to start their run for a playoff seed, which should be possible for the 76ers this year.
The Hawks had other problems last year. Maybe bigger problems. Finishing the season with a 26-56 record. Although they doubled their victories, it was not really satisfying at all. But the face of the team has changed. They have a leader in Joe Johnson, who should be able to carry the team, especially with his move from the point guard to the two-guard spot. "He knows, we expect very much from him, he is the leader, he is our man when it comes to shooting and we do trust in him", Coach Mike Woodson confirms on Johnson´s extra role. Atlanta does also hope that Shelden Williams will have an impact on their game. His power and energy should help them a lot under the basket. The difficulty should be to defend Allen Iverson, but Joe Johnson did already show that he can handle strong guards last year. So let´s hope the best, for an exciting, fair game.
Tip-Off at the Wachovia Center will be at 7:00 p.m.

I like that preview style. Best of luck against Philly. I think it will be pretty difficult to stop Iverson, because Hawks don't have good PG's, so you should try stopping him with Johnson.

Johnson´s dagger sinks 76ers in season opener
Atlanta Hawks 96, Philadelphia 76ers 93

Philadelphia Nov. 1st(AP) -- Johnson knocks out Sixers.

It was just not what Joe Johnson does every night. Although being known as one of the better players in the NBA when it comes to scoring and also known for being the franchise player of the Atlanta Hawks, there had always been one thing he was not famous for. His clutch game. The ability to make it happen at the end of a close game. Shooting buzzer beaters, game winners and, of course, hitting them.
The shotclock ran down for the 76ers late in the 4th with the chance to grab a lead, 2 points, 3 points, who cares as long as they are possible to defend their basket on the other end.
9.3 seconds left and Allen Iverson took the tough contested three pointer, this guy was confident after scoring 8 in a row for the 76ers and 13 in the 4th. But Iverson hit the rim. Rebound Marvin Williams, one of his 13 boards in the ball game. The Hawks took a timeout with the game tied at 93-93. "Actually the Coach did ask me if I think I could make it happen, and I felt quite good after such a quarter", Joe Johnson said afterwards.
He had many reason to feel good at the end of the 4th. 27 reasons, 14 of them in the 4th before his final shot. Some really nice plays like when he went for a beautiful finger role after one of 9 assists by Speedy Claxton." I saw a little bit of George Gervin when I looked at him while that play", Maurice Cheeks joked later. Although they had not that much success defending Allen Iverson, the Hawks backcourt played very well offensively, combining for 43 points and 16 assists. A strong effort of the 76ers in the first half gave them a 6 point lead, but the Hawks fought back. A 14-4 run in the 3rd gained them the lead, but Allen Iverson did not want to give up. The Hawks did not do a good job defending him, allowing him to get to the basket easily. After the 3rd the 76ers led by 4. A strong 4th quarter effort by Joe Johnson, but also Marvin Williams and Lorenzen Wright brought the Hawks back. And it was Johnson who drilled a shot from top of the key with 2:43 left to tie the game again. And that was where we ended up with these 9 seconds left on the clock and Hawks ball. Johnson received the ball and dribbled around a screen set by Zaza Pachulia, but Willie Green was able to stay in front of him. With 1.4 seconds left Johnson took the difficult three pointer and decided the game."I did my best to defend him, especially at the end, but he drilled that three pointer and I could not do anything", Willie Green had to confess. The 76ers had five players in double figurs led by Allen Iverson´s 28 points. Hawks leader was Joe Johnson with 30, Lorenzen Wright added 14 and Josh Smith and Speedy Claxton 13 apiece to seal the deal for the Hawks. Smith also had 4 blocked shots.
So the Hawks were able to pull away the win, 96-93. Next opponent will be the New York Knicks on Nov. 3rd.
