Basketball/NBA Valuables

Sun Aug 10, 2003 3:14 am

Any of you guys got some valuable basketball memorabillia? Magazines, cards, autographs? I'm just wondering if you maybe collect stuff like me. I've had most of the SLAM Magazines since Jordan was on the cover for Top 50 Players Of All Time(Not the Top 75) which I'm guessing will all be worth a lot in the future. I also have like 3,000 basketball cards and some are valuable now like a Shaq rookie card, a Gary Payton rookie card, some Iverson rookie cards, and Kobe Bryant rookie cards, and lots of others. I also just recently got two MJ cards with the Wizards.

So, what basketball stuff do you guys like to collect that's valuable?

If I were you, I'd just stop buying them. If you have some valuable cards (such as rookie cards of some of the top players today), they will be worth a lot of money in the future.

I have a Larry Hughes autograph, and a authentic Kobe Bryant gold jersey and a MPLS jersey

Well I used to collect a lot of basketball cards. It was cool then, but then I stopped like 2 years ago. I'd still like to if I had a lot of money to spare. Things have changed since then so now I wouldn't be able to make time for that. Just to name a few of my favorites: Tim Duncan rookie card in draft day uniform, Michael Jordan's game winner against Jazz in NBA Finals before he retired (I think game one or two when he made a fist after draining the shot) - the last time I checked about a little over a year now, it was worth $500 in the Beckett. I really hope my eyes weren't deceiving me. I also have more notable rookie cards such as: Jalen Rose, Mike Bibby, Matt Harpring, Jason Williams, Jason Kidd, Dirk Nowitzki, Derek Anderson, and Richard Hamilton. There are a few more but I just can't think of them right now. I have quite a lot of Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, and Karl Malone cards. The irony in all of this though, after thinking about it, is that I don't even have ANY cards of my favorite basketball player: Wally Szczerbiak.

Does anyone know any place where I can profit off my old collection of cards? I tried searching around my area few years back but no luck.

I used to collect basketball cards, I've got a few hundred of those lying around in a couple of albums. I've also got a Michael Jordan replica Bulls jersey (#23). I've even got the NBA board game. :D

If you count videos, I've got 70+ basketball videos.

I've got a pile of bball cards that's about, oh i dunno, 8 inches high, most of them are 1993 to 1996 scrubs . I have the odd jordan card and pippen and rice and you know...Don't know how many is there, not much compared to most of you guys i bet.
And i'm proud to say that i got my first basketball DVD! Thank Jonesy for that one, he sent it to me. (Y)

Why stop its not pointless. They are worth alot of money. If u get a bron rookie it'll be worth a ton just because of all the publicity he gets.

I have a couple hundred NBA Cards and about twice as many NFL cards.
Notables-kobe, shaq, 2 magic johnsons, dominique wilkins, spudd webb, 3-4 jordans, a few Iversons(2 from his 2nd year) james worthy, Larry Bird, Elton Brand Rookie......the list goes on.

The irony in all of this though, after thinking about it, is that I don't even have ANY cards of my favorite basketball player: Wally Szczerbiak.

I have 2 wally rookies and a shawn marion rookie. I have 2 mike miller rookies.

I used to buy magazines, papers and all that, until I realised they were colourful (or black-white in some cases) ripoffs of stuff I could find on the internet. I tend to get car magz these days.

I did collect cards for a little while, when everybody else seemed to lose interest in them. All I have is crap though, I doubt any card in my album is worth more than the cardboard it was made on so that was a waste.

I is gots da MJ Wizards jersey hanging in my room somewhere but I don't wear it... I'm not worthy :D

Wed Aug 13, 2003 12:34 am

Damn. A piece of cardboard with a pick can be worth a lot of money. I dont know what makes them great but they are easy money. I probably got $5k in cards. maybe not

Lucky bastard. I think a ball or jersey would be worth more though.

Tue Sep 09, 2003 9:09 pm

I wonder why everyone wants to know how much they are worth?....keep the autographed stuff, dont sell it
