so I just got back from the casino... I got shit on in blackjack and lost like $140. then I sat down at a $2/4 poker table and made it back and then some... but of course, I get greedy and I don't stop (one of my biggest flaws, especially when it comes to gambling) and so I wind up losing most of what I won in poker.

Oh man, I had such a bad beat yesterday. So we went to this cardroom in Chicago Heights. (Gordon, you'd better find that funny) We sat down at a cash game, me and 3 friends each bought 500 worth of chips. So the game is going along well, I'm playing well, one of my friends busts out pretty quickly, and decides to just mark it down as 500 down the drain and not buy back in and my other friend was just about even. So I'm at 1,250 or so and the 2 other guys at the table have about 6,000 each, so I'm wildly overmatched even after winning about 700. Blinds are at 25/50. I look at my pocket aces, and decide to slow play it, and see what happens. The flop comes Ac-2s-9s I bet 300, one folds one raises me enough to put me all in. Easy call I think, I have a set of aces, and the best he can have right now is a flush draw. I call and he flips over 3h/6c. It was an out and out bluff. However the turn is a 4. So I'm sweating a little bit because the 5 gives him a straight. Of course the river is a 5, and I walk out broke. That was the worst beat I've ever taken in my life.

That is genuinely painful. I've lost so many hands on pocket aces, but I never play for money, just the silly online stuff.

damn that sucks, indy. there's really nothing you can do there because you played it the right way and he just got lucky. The only thing you can do is keep playing thet right way and you'll start winning again.

Yeah, I know, I've gotten my share of bad beats, and I've given them out too. It's part of poker.
