2000 MVP

Tue Nov 07, 2006 2:03 pm

How does the Live2000 database select its regular season MVP? Whether in franchise or season, I notice that there exists a select (4 or 5) rotation of players who receive the MVP trophy during awards distribution. While the # of MVP candidates is realistic, the fact that the actual recipent often has accumulated less impressive statistics or that he plays for a low playoff seed/non-qualifier is not -- the same oddities hold true for All-NBA 1st Team selections, All-Defensive & midseason All-Star teams.

So what factors does the Live database take into account in selecting its association award recipients? Just curious as to whether anyone might have a legitimate answer. Thx.

i don't know. kinda random taken from a pool of guys with good stats, but a user player usually gets awarded though most of the time

This is largely true of All-Star game selections as well. Seems a pretty sig. flaw in NBA Live2000's programming. I've taken to watching simulated games (i.e., cpu team vs. cpu team) in franchise mode -- which is partially why I asked the Award selection question. Thx.
