Oh Andrew u say that every year...turns out 2003 wasn't a big promise..

The previews were promising, but the gameplay was disappointing for us simulation/realism fans.

hopefully it will become a great game like u just said...

I remain optimistic. But don't blame me if you don't like 2004.

I think Live 2004 will be better then 2003. They now have done something to the franchise. It's been quite stagnant for the last couple of years and that's what glues us fans to our seats. I've wondered for years why haven't they done anything new to this (in my opinion) "most important part" of the game.

I have barely played an exhibition game since the introduction of the multiseason mode. I've played exhibition games widely with Live 96 or was it 97, but since then. It's been all franchise...

Live has gotten better each year that I know. Live 2003 was different, but it was a lot better then 2002 (which I as a Pc player have never played, but so I've heard)... And I have all the faith in EA that this years edition will be a lot better then last year.

Do you guys notice that all the ODD year Live versions are better than the previous year's?
Wut y'all think?
Sometimes games too anticipated are just too hyped up.

I thought it was the even years...since Live 98 and 2000 seemed to be highly regarded versions... :D

I expect that the overall feel of the game for NBA Live 2004 will be very similar to Live 2003...which I personally do not consider a bad thing. I consider Live 2003 an overall solid game with some items which need to be addressed. From the information that we've been getting I think that EA has addressed many of these issues...which to me sounds promising.

If EA "re-released" NBA Live 2003 with gameplay sliders, expanded freestyle, and improved franchise mode I would be happy. The fact that they have improved the inside game, deferentiated the playing style of the big men and small guards etc etc etc...only adds to the "hype".

I don't think there really is an odd/even rule. NBA Live 99 was better than NBA Live 98, and then NBA Live 2000 was better than NBA Live 99.

Now this is a fact... EA sports delivers. It delivers every time. How often do you go and buy a game and after a couple of hours of playing you think that this is stupid and the game ends up in a distant corner far from your computer??? This has happened to me a couple of times.

My point is, when EA comes up with a new NHL or NBA game, well I buy it and I play them for hundreds of hours a year. Of how many games can you say the same? There are only a few games that keep the intrest as long as EA Sports releases.

"If it's in the game, it's in the game" was a frequently used phrase from EA a while back and that's the truth.

In the NHL series there's been a couple of dissappointments, but I've never seen or played a bad NBA Live game.

I ain't kissing anyones ass here, but this is just a fact *period*

let's hope Live 2004 isn't just a game with cosmetics improvements and a new dynasty mode.
The enhanced defence might show higher steals in the game stats and higher number of T.O.'s. The scores may be a lot lower.

Man, you throw new dynasty mode in there as it were nothing. It is the very soul of the game and if it has been greatly improved, well the game will be lot's better even if it was the same Live 2003 otherwise.

Defensive end is going to be a lot better, without adding steals and turnovers too much. They have added the ability for a player to deflect a pass (not just catch and steal) and usually in real life these balls end up out of bounds or atleast not in the players hands it was meant to end up in.

I'm hoping that a these deflections will force you to take that tougher jumper from long range and not just dumping the ball inside for an easy dunk. This is what I'm hoping... Good defenders don't always have the highest steals and blocks in the game. They just make the other team make bad decisions and that makes them great for any ball club.
