Thanks for the comments guys!

Ford2Bosh, quite good idea, I will think about it a little bit more. And yeah, Jackson had 5-5 shooting in 9 minutes and after that I thought I should give more minutes to the rookies.

Shi, I will play 3 more games at the preseason and then I will start the season, just hope the patch will come out at the right time :)

53-83 from the field... You absolutely torched it dude.

Not suprising though. Other than Gerald Wallace and Okafor, the rest of the team is pretty much slightly below average/mediocre at defence.

Thanks for comments

falkor, I'm playing 10 min quarter. When I start a regular season I will probably turn to 12. And I spend about hour and a half to play, do screens and subs.

carter killed u man... though you couldn't guard VC, RJ wasn't good for his potential. it seems like u did a perfect D on R-Jeff, he only took 8 shots and made 2 of 'em. I think u focused on R-Jeff but VC got red hot this game. It's just pre-season. I think regular season will be better for Indiana in this dynasty... GL with this one...

Pacers missed last 3 pointer and lost to the Wolves
October 22th, 2006

Image
Ricky Davis demonstrated outstanding dunks and played great game leading the team

INDIANA PACERS 109 : 111 MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES

[ Pacers boxscore ][ Wolves boxscore ]

Sarunas Jasikevicius missed the 3 pointer at the last second of the game and Pacers were constrained to give Wolves best. Pacers were in the situation to win or lose, when the only one shot decided the winner. The ball was given to the best available shooter in the game at that time, but however Saras failed to hit it.

This was the 3rd loss for the Pacers at the preseason period and now have the record of 3-3. Tonight Timberwolves managed to revenge for the furious lost before the week at the Conseco Fieldhouse arena, when Pacers had a 12 : 0 run and celebrated the victory.

So the game started slowly, with careful attacks and good defense. But later both teams were just running and nothing else, so the 1st quarter finished with the 5 points advantage by the Wolves 29 : 24. The 2nd quarter was the brake for the Pacers, when managed to run 14 : 3 and finally tied the game at the score 47 : 47. Stephen Jackson was playing amazingly good at the second. He had 16 points before the halftime, but didn't appear at the second half. The quarter ended with the 1 point advantage by the Pacers.

After the halftime they tried to keep that play, that they demonstrated at the 2nd quarter and they did quite well. With the help by Shawne Williams and James White Pacers gained 5 points lead in the middle of the quarter and Jermaine O'Neal increased it to 7 after the lay up made, 75 : 68. Suddenly the worst things happened and Wolves had an incredible 16 : 0 run. They gained the momentum and scored very easy shots while Pacers couldn't do anything at all for the whole 5 minutes. Finally O'Neal ended that streak with the lucky shot and the quarter ended 77 : 84.

At the final quarter Pacers tried not to give up and close the Wolves' lead. That was not so easy task, because Kevin Garnett and Ricky Davis already felt their game and Mike James was also doing very well. And this quarter was almost better for Mike James, he was making points, dishing assists and doing other good job, organizing the team's attacks.

It was difficult for the Pacers without Al Harrington, Jamaal Tinsley and Marquis Daniels, which were placed at the IL for this game, to play at the 4th quarter, but they still managed to tie the game at the remaing of 30 seconds of the game. Big thanks to Shawne Williams, Jermaine o'Neal and Sarunas Jasikevicius, who made 2 important 3 pointers, which let to close the lead.

So the game is tied and one of the last attacks for the Wolves. Randy Foye was going at the basket and forced to be fauled. Therefore he made 2 free throws and left 9 seconds for the Pacers for the last attack, but the 3 pointer was not accurate by Jasikevicius and Minnesota TimberWolves celebrated the victory 111 : 109.

Coach Rick Carlisle was quite happy with some moments of the game and was happy that the game is improving day by day. Of course he was not so happy about the loss, but is not smart to blame Saras for that missed shot. This is just the preseason and the real fights will begin at the regular season. Carlisle was disappointed with the Orien Green. He was playing all the 3rd quarter and it was the main fault by him that he didn't manage to control the team play at the Wolves' 16 : 0 run. Hope he will do better in two left games against Bobcats and Jazz.

Tough loss, Garnett had a excellent shooting night, although only 8 shots is a bit weird. You must have played good D on him

Pacers went undefeated from Charlotte
October 24th, 2006

Danny Granger had team high 25 points and saved the team from loss at the 4th quarter

INDIANA PACERS 92 : 90 CHARLOTTE BOBCATS
4th quarter intervention

[ Pacers boxscore ][ Bobcats boxscore ]

Indiana Pacers celebrated the 2nd victory against Charlotte Bobcats in these preseason games. After the blowout before the week in the Conseco Fieldhouse Bobcats tried to rehabilitate at home. But very unsuccessful end for them and that was the 2nd victory for the Pacers against Bobcats.

The game started with great quarter by the Pacers, they held the lead all the quarter and didn't let to close the lead at the 2nd quarter, so before the halftime the result was 52 : 40 for the Pacers. After the halftime Bobcats concentrated and tried to close the lead, so at the end of the quarter they were trailing only by 3 points 64 : 67.

4th quarter was the decisive for the both teams. And seems that Bobcats looks better after the halftime, so they tied the game finally and increased the lead to 6 points in the middle of the quarter, with the great help from Emeka Okafor. Pacers called a timeout and played with the best available starting 5 at the moment. Granger felt like the team leader on the court with O'Neal, Harrington and Jackson out of this game. He was making important layups with good shooting, so the result became tied again at the remaining of 1 minute.

The last minute was like a thriller on the court, Bobcats played at their best. Morrison was fauled and had the opportunity to hit two free throws, but missed one and it was only the one point advantage by the Bobcats. The ball was trust to Granger and he was cluch hitting the open shot at the remaining of 40 seconds. The Bobcats then rushed into offense and lost the ball careless, so the Pacers had 30 seconds left on the clock. They used all the time available and Jamaal Tinsley made very important jumper at the last second of the shot clock, so increasing the lead to 92 : 89. Bobcats had the last attack to finish and had 6 seconds, but Pacers managed to fault them at the remaining of 1.5 second, don't letting to hit 3 pointer. Morrison again was standing at the free throw line. He made the 1st shot and intentionally missed the 2nd with the hopes to rebound the ball, but Foster saved Pacers from that and passed the ball quickly to the teammate and claiming the victory 92 : 90.

Danny Granger was the main man on the court, getting the Player of The Game honnor with 24 points and 7 points. Shawne Williams again had great game with 14 points. Pacers coach hopes that he will keep that play at the regular season. From the Bobcats need to mention their froncourt having 53 points of 90. Rick Carlisle was glad about the end of the game, that team managed to play smart. Utah Jazz is the last remaining opponent for them and they will try to test their best lineup available and get the victory at the Salt Lake City.

Good win man (Y)

You benefit a lot from these preseason games, there will be many last seconds games through the season and practicing these situations right now-will help a lot...

It looks like Bernie's getting a little too intimate with is players in the third picture.

Jeff Foster blew ass, but it looks like he played a key role during that free-throw play.

Maybe you should trade Jackson and develop Shawne. I think if you tinker around with your lineups, you can get probably one of the biggest all-around lineups in the league if you put in O'Neal, Harrington, Granger, Williams and Daniels all at the same time.

Speaking of Daniels, I'm glad to see him get 6 assists. That guy's a capable point guard out there.
