Ok so I have been playing the game for a lil bit today and its not bad at all. Its playable and I havent seen anything that really irks my nerves. Still prefer PES but the only thing that still has me playing is the need to give PES a break.

I'm currently managing Lyon and we have been doing pretty well so far going into the January window of the second season. I simmed alot of games obviously. Wanna go another season or two before I switch teams again so we will see what happens.

I've played Fifa 07 and its getting closer and closer to PES each year, still not as good as it yet thought. I really like the manager mode in Fifa and thats the only thing plus the commentary that I think is better than PES. Also I heard a rumour that Fifa bought out PES so next year there will be no PES, doubt its true and I hope its not :|

There is no way EA can buy Konami...and Konami isn't going to sell off their best-selling franchise. Unless you mean the actual FIFA (as in the football association) bought out PES...which um...makes less sense. It would be awesome if they merged the manager mode and the licenses of FIFA with the gameplay of PES. Oh man would that be awesome.

I just bought FIFA 07 yesterday and I'm very happy with it... the moves, the players, and the career mode just amazed me, it's really nice. The only thing I didn't like was that the game includes korean or polish teams license, but not, for example, argentinian teams, a bigger and better league.

Can anyone tell me if the A-League(Australian league) is in the game, i hope so i've been going to all of Melbourne Victory's home games :o
If it's not in the game that's just bullshit.

I'm 99% sure that A-League is not in it. What a shame hope they put it in Fifa 08.

strange, I could've sworn that A-League was going on current gen version of game....ahh well....was thinking about getting Fifa 07 on 360 but then I realised that a lot of teams & leagues are missing because it's a next gen version (go figure), so might have to go with pes6....EA has dropped the ball on every single sporting title this year, I wonder if it will be the same for this one :(

Rented the game and didn't like it at first. Once I got used to it I found it really good and enjoyable. Finally EA Sports has kept up with competition in this sport unlike Live 07. Skills are harder to do this year as is shooting. Even though FIFA has always been a pick-up and play game it isn't really like that this year and does require a good amount of skill to play it. Worth buying if you're a football(soccer) fan.

It´s certainly a much better game, you can see the new ball phisycs like when you´re going really fast its tougher to control the ball and stuff like that. You can see the AI is smarter, like when they´re shooting a foul, they normally pass the nearest player even if you go and mark it, not if you go and mark, he searches for other options. Overall this is 06 with its bugs fixed.. i havent played the PES series yet for the 360 but i have to say it should be a good duel.

I finally got to play the final version (for the PS2) and the game certainly is impressive. The ball physics have improved so much that you no longer are playing pinball anymore. Now that I have played winning 10 to death, I'll probably play FIFA over winning for now.

By the sounds of what you guys are saying about it, I might just get it. If NFS Carbon turns out to be as good as what its seeming to be hyped up to be, I'll have a hard decision in my hands. If Carbon isn't that good, then the decision will be much easier.

FIFA by far. There is so much more depth than Winning Eleven/PES's manager mode (also called Master League). For example, Master League still uses points! (not real money) Not to mention FIFA has much more licenses so you have teams all around the world, whereas PES has only a few (compared to FIFA). Also the Master League, if not properly configured, might be missing a whole major league. You could be playing Master League with the Spanish or Italian league absent with the Netherlands league in its place! If you don't have enough points you can't even set the thing!!
It's not like FIFA manager mode has insane depth, but it's far more deep than the shallow master league of PES.

From the sounds of things, FIFA 07 is a good improvement over 06. Is it that much better that I should buy 07? I play 06 a lot, but I'm not a huge soccer fan, and I have more fun scoring and winning, like 4-3, than winning 1-0. Is 07 the game for me, or could I stick with 06? I'm basically asking if it's worth it for a casual fan to buy 07.

Do you have Pro Evo/WE? If not, wait a few weeks for PES6 (Y)

I've got FIFA 07 and it's not bad, still a lot of weird things going on since it's EA, but it's much better than the 06 demo I played last year.

No, I've never played any Pro Evo/WE games (I play on PC). I really like 06, especially the Manager Mode, but I'm wondering if 07 is that much better.

You've got to check out Pro Evo/WE, and I assume someone will back me up on this. Try out the PES 5 demo. I was converted from FIFA 2003 and haven't looked back until this latest version. I still prefer Winning Eleven 9 to FIFA 07 however.

You could of course download the FIFA 07 demo if you wished.

Even though the manager mode of PES is extremely shallow, the actual gameplay is still superior to FIFA. It's hard to put in words what exactly is better about the game, but most people would agree that the feel to the game is better. Wait for PES 6 (AKA Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007 or Winning Eleven 10) to come out and get it. Actually I'd actually recommend both, if you have the money for it. But I recommend WE over FIFA any day.
