me too...so much for the ones adamantly protesting it to be stephon marbury. I knew it was vince from the time i looked at the shape of the shadow.

Bad coverboy btw...a long overhyped no show. Though if they used him for dunk mocap...they would have then given us a long desired and awaited request.

When they are on the cover...does that mean they do like the shots and shit ....because ive notice that last year the shooting for the Guards was just like Kidds ...and i notice that when i saw bibby shoots in the video it kinda looks like vinces shot ...It could just be me thoug :D

Anyways Ill buy it just because its Nba Live 2004 ...and its just extra with my fav player

As long as Yao or King James wasn't on the cover I would be happy. As they're both unproven rooks/sophs. And Yao didn't even win the ROY. I am quite surprised at Live's decision to put Vince on the cover. He did spend most of last year warming the pine (well, technically plastic) and I think he's the first player to appear on the cover of two different companies nba games (Edit: One more I think, Shaq on the cover of Live 96 and on his own game that I recall seeing ads for in Slam.) Anyway, whatever it's just the cover not the game.

Reading other post im begging to think there are more Carter Haters then Kobe Haters...oh well its a game...Carter a person who is reconized by many people so why not put him on a cover...he was injured yes ...but he still average 20 points in the games he did play..and had some crazy dunks this year ...(On Duncan) the free style should be good , hes got some good stuff .... I personally hope the crazy ass fade will be in it

Im no Carter hater but why would you put on the cover a guy who has been injured for most of the season...maybe he is on the cover only for Canada

I don't dislike Carter, but why put him on the cover?? He did pratically jack last season. He doesn't deserve to be a cover boy.

And why have him dribbling. What was wrong with his dunk over Tim Duncan for the cover.

I guess that's the style of cover EA is going with these days. The last two covers have both featured players mid-dribble.

stupid choice... Steph should've been on it...

and his face... well it looks like he has something uncomfortable crammed up his ass... they could've atleast found a better picture.

but i don't care about the cover anyway, i'm more interested in the game itself.

The thing of it is that Vince has gone a little soft during the last couple of seasons, mostly due to injuries. He's still a great player when he's healthy. Let's not hope he ends up like Hill...

And about shooting and motion capturing, well they've mostly used one player for it, but this year I think is going to be different. They did the 10-man freestyle thingy and I think this time you could actually see different sized and styled players playing a little different... Wonder what happened to their normal cast of mo-cap people???

Many of you pined for that too... The thing with Ray Allen and Big Ben shooting the ball pretty much the same... Which is bad, but still quite trivial in my mind. If they have put some more effort into it, well we could see different shooting styles and even dribbling styles. (don't know how that would effect the flow of the game if some players use different animations though...)

I'm still looking forward to getting the game even though Vince is on the cover

Think about it guys - Marketing ploy by Carter's agent

Postby sfield on Wed Aug 06, 2003 12:47 am

Vince Carter was the man a few years back. Everybody stating he's the next Jordan and so on. Whats happened since. Vince has been injured, lost his temper a few times and couldn't help Toronto make any sort of playoff contender impact over the last few seasons.
Vince Carter's image has slowly been diminishing. It would not suprise me that EA has used Carter not only for their own benefit, but Carter's agent suggesting this might put him back on the map again after a few sorry years.
If he is placed on the game box, he comes back bigger and better this season, then Vince's hype will again grow and become quite strong.
You people need to understand marketing ploys.
EA got and used Vince
1) because he has diminished in stature hence star player at an affordable price
2) Vince Carter's agent probably suggested to Vince this would be a great way to get back the supporter fan base that has diminished over the past few seasons - Rememeber this game goes world wide.

People always make themselves look foolish when they speak in definite terms about things they don't know. You've gotta love'em...or quote'em...

I knew it was vince from the time i looked at the shape of the shadow.

Vince was my first and last instinct...and I said he had a wristband but people were telling me it was just his wristbone...

Why the hell do they Vince as a coverboy who only has played about 20 games. I think they should put Duncan or somebody else that has been a good player this season. But the problem with Duncan is that his so fucking boring!
