Hello to everyone! I am new to the forums but I have been reading the Live 06 dynastys that have been posted around here as well as a few in the Live 07 section. I have been inspired to make my own.

I have chosen to play with the LA Lakers. Details of my dynasty are as follows:

Sim Length: 12 Mins

I won't be redoing the Draft and I will wait for an updated roster patch as well as the official NBA Live game patch before I start the season.

At least Farmar => Wafer.

I wouldn't mind seeing Wafer get a few minutes here and there, a friend of mine loves the guy since his college days and probably cries himself to sleep over the minutes he gets. I still remember the day Wafer put back that freethrow with a big dunk, my friend was going nuts. Anyways, back to your dynasty. Il be following since it looks like you are going for realism

Realism will be hard to do because kobe dominates in this game and I always abuse Radmanovic's shooting lol

I don't think he's a star shooter in real life either lol... if anything, I would take away the star shooter from Vlad and give Kwame a star inside stopper symbol... even that would be more realistic!

I remember that, it was against the Raptors.

Anyway, I'm also a Wafer fan, so hopefully he can see some a couple minutes of playing time. It'll be tough considering that there's Bryant ahead of him (Another person who completely humiliated the Raptors. I think I'm starting to see a trend).

10 mintues keeps the stats more realistic as in points scored... I know cause the cpu can score 10 in 2 minutes on me easy

Lakers looking forward and want to make things right

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- It’s only been a few months ago since the Los Angeles Lakers squandered a 3-1 series lead in the first round of the NBA playoffs. For some, they want to forget about it. For others, they feel that remembering what happened can make them stronger for the next season.

For Lamar Odom, forgetting and remembering are both tough tasks.

The veteran forward has been through a lot more than losing a playoff series in the past few months. He lost a child. This week, as training camp started, it was plain for everyone to see; that the pain was still there. As Odom took a break from Lakers’ practise, he said to a sideline journalist, “Man, the pain out there when we run on the floor ain’t nothing compared to what I went through last Summer.”

Odom’s third season with the Lakers is just beginning and all things looked bright until the unfortunate personal tragedy a few months ago. However, Odom seems to be fighting hard and he claims that he’s putting everything behind him. ‘Everything’ includes the slow start to last season, the disappointing playoff loss, and the death of his baby. “I’m trying to move forward,” Odom addressed media during the Lakers’ Media Day, “Don’t get me wrong. I want to put my best foot out in front of me. I want to be strong and it is hard for me but I think I can do it.”

His words come as a relief for the Lakers’ front office as they are preparing for a new season; ready to erase the memory of the Phoenix series, all the while looking at all the positives of what many would call a season in which the team over-performed. The 2005-06 Lakers, minus Kobe Bryant, were a group of underachievers and no names. After the heroics of Bryant standing out as an MVP candidate and the team garnering 45 wins, the 06-07 edition of the Lake Show looks promising.

“We don’t want people to think that it was a fluke for us to make the playoffs,” Lakers guard Smush Parker stated, “Our (Lakers) aim is to make it back to the postseason and do even better. We were inexperienced last year and just lost to a better team in the end and I’m sure that if we get back there (Playoffs) again- we can put up a better fight.”

With Kobe Bryant (Knee Surgery) and Phil Jackson (Hip Surgery) both sidelined, the Lakers got back to work. Assistant Coach Kurt Rambis is replacing Jackson for the time being and has done a better-than-expected job with the young team. “Coach Rambis isn’t no slouch,” Lakers centre Kwame Brown said, “He’s doing a wonderful job with the team. Right now, we’re only doing some easy stuff and just running through our defence and stuff but maybe by tomorrow we might run through some of the triangle (offence).”

Training camp has allowed the Lakers to welcome (and welcome back) some players to the club. Rookie Jordan Farmar is by far the most interesting new Laker and the former UCLA PG is making his own vouch for playing time this season. The rookie has shown outstanding leadership and playmaking during the Summer League games and has been just as vocal during training camp. “You need to shut him (Farmar) up sometimes!” Smush, who is likely to start at Farmar’s position, joked, “You tend to forget he’s a young one.”

Vladimir Radmanovic was everything the Lakers had been waiting for after Devean George left for the Dallas Mavericks. For those who hoped George would become a dependable spot up shooter and a third scoring option for the Lakers back in the day, the forward had worn out his welcome. In his place, Radmanovic has been signed to do what George tried to do; be a reliable outside shooting option. So far, his team mates and coaches have been equally impressed with the Serbian big. Fellow European Sasha Vujacic spoke of Radmanovic fondly, “I think Vladimir is a great addition to our side. Last season, we struggled to shoot well enough and we lost a few games but this year with Vlad here, we should be able to get a few easy baskets.”

The Lakers didn’t just stock up on their offensive players as they also added defensive specialist Maurice Evans to the mix through a trade with the Detroit Pistons. “He will be important for our team,” Rambis praised Evans, “I think he will do a fine job backing up Kobe Bryant.” Evans returned the favour by saying some good words about the Lakers, “This team will be great to play with. I think they have a great organisation and the offence is going to help me not only highlight my defensive abilities but also my versatility. Not many people think I can score.”

French National Ronny Turiaf returned to America just days before the start of training camp but has shown little signs of his extra involvement in the World Championships where he helped lead France to a fifth placing. “For me, country comes in front of club,” the patriotic Turiaf announced, “But now that international duty is finished, club comes first and I will always make sure I’m in good condition to play.”

A handful of players are merely trying to win a contract and the player they may replace, Aaron McKie, has been on a quiet struggle to get back into playing shape. The 13 year veteran claims he sees the light at the end of the tunnel but vows he won’t retire until the fat lady sings. “I know it might sound stubborn but as long as I’m still able to run on the court, I’m not quitting,” McKie said. Lakers star Bryant hopes McKie doesn’t lose his roster spot and did put in a good word for him recently, “I’m still looking forward to playing with Aaron. I think his presence in the locker room is great and if he gets back onto the court, it would be only good news for our team.”

As for the ever dramatic Kobe Bryant, the latest chapter in his basketball life has been put on hold due to surgery. But the perennial All-Star has vowed that he will be ready for the NBA season whenever it is due to begin. “I’m feeling better than last season,” Bryant boasted, “The knee limited me last season and it took me about 45 minutes each game to warm up. After surgery, the knee is feeling a lot better and I’m feeling a lot healthier. I know it sounds cocky but I think that I will play even better than last season.”

For all the other teams in the NBA, they all better watch out. If Kobe averaged the highest scoring average since Michael Jordan on a bum knee, only God knows what he’s capable of for this upcoming season. And not only is Kobe confident about what is to come but the rest of his team is looking hell good.

UTAH, Salt Lake City. (AP) -- The LA Lakers started their Preseason campaign with a come from behind win against the Utah Jazz. New signing Vladimir Radmanovic helped the Lakers overcome an early double digit deficit with some hot shooting in the second quarter. The Serbian scored 19 of his team high 24 points in the second period and helped the Lakers get back into the lead. It was then up to Lamar Odom to lead the Lakers in front of their opponents and he did that by scoring 16 of his 23 points in the third quarter.

Odom finished the game with 23 points and 15 rebounds as Smush Parker chipped in 16 and Maurice Evans added 12. The Lakers played without their injured star Kobe Bryant, whose experience would have come in handy down the stretch where the Jazz made a comeback from 21 points down to come as close as 8 points within the Lakers.

Matt Harpring came off the Jazz bench to record 19 points and led four other scorers in double figures. Sophomore point guard Deron Williams struggled on 4 for 21 shooting as did Russian forward Andrei Kirilenko who only scored 4 points on 2 for 12 shooting from the field.

After falling behind early thanks to an 11-0 run by the home side, the Lakers decided to mount a comeback by running a fast paced offence. “We played more Showtime style than Phil style,” Kwame Brown laughed, “If Coach (Jackson) was here, he wouldn’t have let us do it.” The Lakers’ up tempo attack overshadowed their defence on the other end. At times, the Jazz looked like they wanted to give up as they went through sporadic periods of multiple missed shots.

After the second quarter when the Lakers had taken the lead, the away team pushed ahead in the third period behind Lamar Odom’s leadership. By the start of the final period, the Lakers were up by 21 points. Stand-in Coach Kurt Rambis allowed his reserve players to play and Utah took advantage of the situation to mount a comeback.

The Jazz got as close as 8 points to the Lakers with 3:41 left in the game before back to back three point shots from Smush Parker got his team back in the lead by 14 points. The game was all but over after Kirilenko’s driving lay up was missed and Kwame Brown secured the rebound with 1:36 left in the match.

The game was an enlightening experience for the Lakers as rookie PG Jordan Farmar impressed the coaching staff as he played like a seasoned veteran, dishing out a game high 12 assists. Young centre Andrew Bynum also did well as he grabbed an impressive 9 rebounds and showed some impressive low post moves. “Everyone played well today, especially Farmar,” Coach Rambis said of his team, “I was very impressed by his leadership on the court and his defence on (Deron) Williams was outstanding.”

Game Notes

Derek Fisher was traded from Golden State to Utah and played against his old team; the Lakers… The Lakers made 7 three point shots in the second quarter and sunk 15 of 28 for the game… Utah failed to take advantage of their 29 trips to the chairty stripe and the Lakers’ 22 total personal fouls…

Well, in case you all are wondering, I'm trying to emulate the recaps/articles off of ESPN.com as good as possible... and I hope the writing isn't too boring.

I'm doing subs manually and it takes ages each game so I don't think that I will be playing many games in the next few weeks with exams rolling up.
