The Expansion Team: By Versa Playa

Day 1-LOCAL PRESS REPORTS NEW KANSAS CITY TEAM!:

Kansas City, Kansas, Kathleen Sebelius, Governor of kansas works out a conference with the National Basketball Association. Through much talking and planning, Governor Sebelius is happy to announce an Expansion Team to come about.
"We're very happy with the outcome of this matter. The people of Kansas City will have another sports team to watch." Sebelius states.
The name? The team will be known as the KC Stars, based off the motto, 'Ad astra per aspera' ('To the stars through difficulties'.
"We hope to se more come out of this deal," says NBA commisioner, David Stern. "The NBA is a growing foundation and there's always enough room for more teams."
We hope to see mroe come out of this as well.

Day 2-SHOCKING FIGURE TO BECOME OWNER OF NEW TEAM!:

Through a shocking turn of events, Rapper Jay-Z takes the place of Robert Schenkovic (fictional business leader) for the spot of Team Owner.
"Y'know. I just wanna reach out to my homies out there through the game of basketball more. Sports are a good way of communication, so, s'all good." Jay-Z comments.
But Schenkovic is very dissappointed. "You are so sure you're going to get this position, but you're left in the dust by someone who pops out of nowhere. It dissappoints but won't affect me for too long."
Jay-Z has hired Jamal Johnson (fictional coach) to be the coach of the team.
Johnson is happy to get the position. "This is a great oppurtunity for me. Being a newbie *laughs* in this league, it's great to get to show my stuff."
Now, there will be more hiring to do and a roster to fill.

Whaddaya guys think?

Day 6-BIG SHOCKER FOR STARS!:

Nik Caner-Medley of the Kansas City Stars has injured his ankle while practicing two days ago.
Coach Johnson says, "It's a terrible thing to go through, with the team just starting and all. But, we gotta keep a stiff upper lip and march along the road of basketball."
The Medical Staff says Caner-Medley injured his ankle while landing awkwardly during a dunk. Nik says he didn't feel any pain until minutes later which is the strange thing.
The League starts in 4 days for the Stars and they hope to prove what they're worth.

Day 10-STARS LOSE FIRST GAME!:

In a strange upset, the Stars lost to the Minnestoa T'Wolves, 87-84. The Stars were playing at home. Here are the stats:

Pts FGM FGA Stls Blks Fouls FTM FTA ASTS

12 5 7 0 0 3 2 4 5: Darius Washington

4 2 6 2 1 5 0 0 2: Kareem Rush

13 6 9 1 0 3 1 3 0: Wesley Person

22 8 14 0 1 5 5 9 3: Rodney Rogers

18 7 13 1 2 2 4 6 1: Chris Jefferies

5 2 7 0 0 5 1 3 0: Christian Laettner

10 5 5 0 3 4 0 0: Jahidi White

(I hope you can read that.)

It was a hard battle. The Stars Rodney Rogers, duked it out, happy to be playing again. Banking 22 points, 1 block, and 3 assists. Darius Washington dominated with 12 points and 5 assists. Kevin Garnett toyed with the team getting an amazing 27 points, 4 assists, 4 blocks, and of those 27 points, banked in 2 three pointers! Randy Foye had 16 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals, a fair game for a rookie.
Coach Johnson is dissappointed but not furious stating, "The team needs to toughen up. It is their first game together but we shouldn't let inexperience get in our way. Kobe was from highschool and he did just fine in the NBA."
The Stars hope to bounce back and are working hard in the locker room.

It'd be great if people could start reading this.

Oh my lord a Chris Jefferies sighting! I'm glad to see him get some playing time.

Who are you planning to develop your team around? Talent wise I'd say the roster is pretty poor and a lot of the players are pretty old. Maybe a trade to acquire a young talent would be best for you.

The main person I'm developing is Darius Washington, being the youngest on the whole team. Caner-Medley is also on my list. I plan to make him an all around better player as things go on. And, the trade thing is an excellent idea. I'll bring that up soon. Plus, most of the free agent list was old guys so...you get the point.

Nice writing (Y) I like the idea of a new team, did you just replace an old one or what?

Any ideas for a trade to get some younger talent? Maybe a younger swingman would help you out (Y)

For the first question, I added them into the league without replacing any team whatsoever. The NBA was booming in the salary cap so they decided to add it.

Yes, the trading idea was coming to me. I think I'll go up for a swing man at SG and SF. We need some more power on the team. I also plan on getting rid of two of these old guys in a two way trade.

Day 12-TRADES OCCUR!:

Kansas City, Kansas, Head Coach Jamal Johnson and Team Owner Jay-Z have agreed to trade Jahidi White for Big man Jarron Collins.
Coach Johnson says, "Jahidi is a very productive player on the team, but we have tons of money in the cap and needed a younger player on the squad."

However, Jerry Sloan says, "Jahidi will be an excellent addition to the team. His dominance in the paint is obviously present and age won't affect the matter. Who needs age when you can still bring up you're game?'

The KC Stars also traded Wesley Person and Chris Jefferies for Portland Swingman, Darius Miles.
Portland at first denied the offer, but when some chi-ching was slapped into the situation, they gladly accepted.
Trainer Tommy Sparks is blissful with the new player on the team. "We need younger people to fuel this team and we think Darius can do that." he remarks.

In other news, New York has released Nikoloz Tskitishvili into Free Agency. "We weren't happy with him during the summer." says Coach Isiah Thomas.

The Roster is now:

PG-Darius Washington/
SG-Kareem Rush/Ron Mercer
SF-Rodney Rogers/Darius Miles
PF-Nik Caner Medley/Christian Laettner
C-Jaron Collins/JP Batista

Oh my god you traded the greatest player on the planet, CHris Jefferies, for the second greatest player on the planet (and slightly disfunctional in the brain as well), Darius Miles.

I hope that Darius can really pick up where he left off last season before he got injured. An absolute monster in nearly every statiscal category.

You serious about the Chris Jefferies is amazing stuff?
And also, we picked up Darius to help the team get moving. Jamal Johnson is a very tough coach and should easily be able to discipline him.

Naw...no screens. As my siggy says, I only got the PSP copy. But using real and fake facts, I was able to devise a story. It may dissappoint, but I promise to keep things as realistic as possible. I'll even set up a playing time sheet.

You traded Wesley Person and Chris Jefferies for Darius Miles... I don't think that was that realistic.

Anyway, Chris Jefferies is the greatest thing to happen to the NBA since Michael Jordan and Roger Mason Jr.

It's a shame he isn't even in the NBA anymore. I was hoping he would be able to do something as a Raptor.

Exactly, I'm not. As stated above, I'm writing this out the top of my head. So, when something juicy comes up, I'll re-post. It's still valid, though probably not as cool.

Thanks for the info. Now I'll try to make things sound as simple as possible. Basically, this whole thing is made up. I only have LIVE 07 on psp and you can't create teams on that one. However, before I get critsized, these stats are based off the real players in the game (take note D-Wade, J-Wil, and Shaq dominated). I looked in Dynasty stories and saw that some truly were made up so I thought it was okay. They even made some of these stories up down at IGN. So, my boxscores will take a long time to post with all this stuff going on. C'mon guys! Jay-Z as an owner! As for the jerseys, I realized how bad the alts were just now. Oh well.
