Predicting your height

Postby Matt on Sat Aug 02, 2003 10:06 pm

OK, some ppl wonder how tall they will end up when hey have fully developed, and i have promised to find a formula to help

the following is from the "Guinness Book Of Answers"

ok, this list will show your average % of mature height........err, if that makes sense
basically the %ages indicate how much % of your expected height you have already grown

Age
13 87.3%
14 91.5%
15 96.1%
16 98.3%
17 99.3%
18 99.8%

the formula is X x 100/%, where X is your current height in inches and % is the % that your age reprents

for example, i'm 68 inches tall and 17 years old, so my formula looks like this

68x100/99.3 and that equals 68.47inches, which is 173.9cm, and now i'm 172.72 cm, so i will grow a furhter 1.18cm

1inch=2.54cm

62.2x100/87.3 is mine

so, you times 62.2 by 100 than divide that by 87.3? if so than i will be 71.25(rounded).
so i will grow:
71.25
-62.20
9.05 inches, so that is 22.987 i believe, so i will grow about 9 inches or 23cm... huh so 71.25 is wow, 5'11 1/4" inches, and the thing my mom did was 5'11" too, so huh, i guess i won't reach 6 feet :( but wait with shoes that is an extra inch, yay, i will be 6 feet with shoes, most likely :)

some docters over here predicted that I will become 6´5. Right now im 15 (16 in a month) and my current height is 6´1. I calculated my height in the formula and it says that I will become 1.88 m (6´2 I believe)

I mean that they made it to the NBA as small guys, so it doesnt mean that someone who´s 5´6 can 4-get the NBA

72.44 inches [184 cm] x 100/87.3 = 82.97 inches ~ 210.74 centimeters ~ 6'9" :D

but when i'm turning 14 next month, i think that this would be a bit realer:

72.44 inches [184 cm] x 100/91.5 = 79.17 inches ~ 201.09 centimeters ~ 6'6"

Haven't been to Golden and apparently I'd be 5'11'', but I haven't a growth spurt since I was 8 so I might break 6'0''. :D

yes but on average you should of reached your full height by age 18. oh and ya you do grow everyday(mostly) bu very very little, like half a millimetre or something. and i don't think this folmula is 100% i think it might be about 90% accurete so it is pretty close to what you will be

i found another one, i did it and it said i would be 69.80 something so rounded up that is 5'10" so that means on 4 tests i have done i got around 5'10", 5'11".
here this one is

for boys = (mother’s height+13cm)+ father’s height + 8cm divided by 2

for girls = Mother’s height + (father’s height - 13cm) + 8cm divided by 2
