ECW made its debut on FOX8 today and I caught most of it. Not bad I guess, can't say it's better than the usual product though.

elijah burke doing the ring announcing? way to steal kennedy's gimmick.

dominic involved again? this eddie-chavo-vickie-rey-dominic thing has gone too far. waaaay too far.

the whole king booker gimmick is the worst gimmick in history. i actually watched the smackdown main event on mute so i didn't have to listen to him.

well, it's better than King Mabel of the 90's (aka Viscera)
Owen Hart played it off pretty well as the "King of Harts"
do they still have that king of the ring tournament?

This is the first time they've done it in about four years, it's one of the traditions that was lost with the roster split.

speaking of the roster split, unforgiven's being talked about as the best raw ppv since the roster split. i've ordered the replay for toight, despite having two matches spoiled already, where there shouldn't have been any spoilers. doesn't stop people posting them.

I heard that as well but I forgot about ordering the replay. I might catch it on DVD when it comes out.

hardy-nitro had an awful finish, other than that it was a brilliant match.

carlito and orton's match was up there with anything else i've seen this year at least.

even the tag match came out well. the HIAC match wasn't too good as far as hiac matches go, but other than that, it was a damn good PPV.

Agreed. Now he has the rare distinction of having gone undefeated through his entire WWE career. I suppose such things don't really matter but it's the principle of the thing. ;)

JBL has handed in notice of retirement or something to wwe, he plans to leave completely after no mercy. wwe are fighting to keep him behind the commentary table. as they should, he's about the only thing on smackdown worth watching atm.

I actually enjoy JBL as commentator more than as a wrestler. Talking was his only good point to begin with

I won't say that I'll miss JBL, but what I miss is the old Bradshaw. He was one of my favourites (Y)

you won't miss him? he's been pretty much the only worthwhile part of smackdown in weeks.

Just what Smackdown needs: less stability and a frantic attempt to replace a prominent personality. How many more signs do the WWE need before they realise the brand split needs to end?

Remember that line on Sylvan on the last Smackdown?
"He's Canadian AND he's French. I double hate him" Too good. And he also kept on making fun of French people and how they surrender all the time... man I'll miss JBL.

Indeed, it'd be awesome if they narrow down the titles again to these rankings from highest to lowest World Heavyweight Championship, Intercontinental Championship, U.S Title, Cruiserweight Title, and Tag Team Titles. (Forget about the Divas, they're only eye candy anywho). If they do the brand split, I hope Cena and the Little Bastard get lost in the transition and end up in their own two-man brand.

i guess you won't miss him much then, but he is absolutely hilarious on commentry, particularly during miz, tatanka and sylvan matches.

"we should put tazz and the little bastard in a stepladder match!"

"tatanka joined the bingo tribe."

he and cole have some really good back-and-forths too.

EDIT: @shadowgrin: i heard a rumour the other day that those two are a lesbian couple.
