Which jersey would he wear though? He's no longer an active player. I still think EA would prefer to put an active (and younger) player on the cover.

Although Vinsanity is an exciting player and all I don't think it will be him.

I really think it will be Kenyon Martin on the cover. He played for a championship team and he hasn't been on any covers and he's propably unsigned to any game product. He's an up and coming star and is already a very good player.

Vince missed most of last season and this is why I don't think he'll be on the cover...

Martin also wears a elbow brace on his left arm and he has a weirdly thick wrists which could make it look like he had a wrist band. And I think the head shape is pretty on target.

It's Kenyon... You heard it first from me...

no it isn't kenyon i don't think, i think it is vince. kenyons wrist couldn't look like that unless he wore a writband but he doesn't so... vince does sometimes, i am pretty sure it is vince

By the look of the headshape in that preview, i'd say it's Marbury. And I'm damn happy about it too! Go Marbz!!! That doesn't look like a wristband to me in the preview, they're just wrist bone bumps. I thought Vince already was on the cover of something for a different game anyway? He wouldn't do two?

I say it's Marbz. Another Possibility could be Francis.
It might not be a bald funny head shape guy in the preview, it might be an afro? (doubt it though) Which brings a whole lotta candidates back in...

things in favor for marbury: bald head, headshape, jersey shape (shoulder width matches phoenix unis), elbowband.
things not in favor: wristband, though he may have worn it, a lot of players have gone with the trend... or, he may just have bulky wristbones...

I hope its VC, but I think Tony may be right, and also VC is coming off a horrible year and there is probably gonna be more to come.

to me, one small detail that favours Vince is the ears..look compare the mystery man's ears with vince's, and marbury's...but if you think about it.Marbury is under contract with Acclaim AND Vince just appeared in Microsofts Inside Drive 1 year ago...maybe its Antawn Jamison..

If the argument against Marbury is that he had a contract with acclaim a few years back then the same can be said for Vince who was the cover athlete for nba inside drive in 2002 ie microsoft. Personally i still think it's Starbury, he fit's the bill in the following criteria imo:

1. The shape of the player shown could be him, the similarities have been well documented.
2. He's a popular player who has heaps of street "cred".
3. He's the type of player who uses the type of freestyle dribbling moves that the live games use.
4. He's young and coming of his best season as a pro and led his young exciting teams to the playoffs in the uber stacked western conference.

My money's on "Marbz" as Nick put it. (Y)

Ebgames has this picture up for nba live 2004, I know it's a mock cover but if they are using t-mac and Yao then they must also be considered strong possibilities.

I know for sure it's not Kobe. I mean he's already screwed with his idiotic crime or whatever. [back to topic]EARS!!! Look at Starbury's ears. They are rounded and cartoon like. Look at Paytons's. Pointing (kinda) and with a gap between ear and head. GP is still a possibilty.[/back to topic]

That's why I'm starting to lean towards Vince being the cover player - the ears and headshape seem to resemble Vince more than the other candidates.

It can't be Vince, I just remembered that he was on the cover of Inside Drive. Likely candidates are now Michael Jordan and Stephon Marbury.
