Did George W. Bush see the first plane hit?
On December 4, 2001, at a townhall meeting in Orlando, Florida, in response to a question from a third grader, President Bush described his reaction to the initial 9-11 news as follows:[154]

I was sitting outside the classroom waiting to go in, and I saw an airplane hit the tower -- the TV was obviously on. And I used to fly, myself, and I said, well, there's one terrible pilot. I said, it must have been a horrible accident.
But I was whisked off there, I didn't have much time to think about it. And I was sitting in the classroom, and Andy Card, my Chief of Staff, who is sitting over here, walked in and said, 'A second plane has hit the tower, America is under attack.'

A month and a day later, at a townhall meeting in Ontario, California, President Bush described his experience like this:[155]

Anyway, I was sitting there, and my Chief of Staff -- well, first of all, when we walked into the classroom, I had seen this plane fly into the first building. There was a TV set on. And you know, I thought it was pilot error and I was amazed that anybody could make such a terrible mistake. And something was wrong with the plane, or -- anyway, I'm sitting there, listening to the briefing, and Andy Card came and said, 'America is under attack.'

President Bush could not have seen the first plane hit the tower live on commercial television, since no television station was covering that area when the first plane hit. Conspiracy theorists have used this fact to imply or accuse President Bush of having advanced knowledge of the attacks.[156][157] A White House spokesperson said that the president's comment was "just a mistaken recollection" [158].

mistaken recollection my ass.

mistaken recollection my ass.

When the TV stations got the video of the first plane attack they repeatedly showed it, nothing in there said that Bush saw it Live.

{IMHO the whole 9/11 thing smells bad to me, something did happen that isn't general public knowledge, and the gov't looks suspiscious "stealing" all those security cameras; Im not a conspiracy theorist, and I love America and support this goverment, but something went down that day that was set up......RIP to all that were killed on and from injuries from 9/11}

Making a statement like "a day will will never forget" may be the most redundant and obvious one can make. Nevertheless, bring 'em on, along with all the well thought out RIP messages.

On the anniversary of such a terrible day, it makes you wonder why basketball is so important. It makes you realize that, actually, it's not.

When I remember this, I sometimes wish I could step into the fantasy life, which we have all visited, but can never stay forever.

On a day like this, I don't wish to post. Just...why?

September 11th, 2001 is a day should be split in two.

Up until shortly before 10am EST it was another act of war in the vein of WTC93, Bojinka, OKC, Khobar, The Embassies and the USS Cole.

Around 10am however things changed, and we finally decided to fight back. It joins October 7th, 2001 and March 20th, 2003 as days when we undertook measures to eliminate the scourge of Islamism.

There is much hyperbole in regards to the day, whether it's "a day we'll never forget" or if it "changed everything" neither of these is true. The West is still ignorant of the threat that not only festers outside our borders but within.

A half-decade later our focus is still wrongly placed, as if we have learned nothing. There's illogical whining about how there's more terrorist attacks today, this ignores that in a hot war an enemy will fight harder than in a cold war. We had the luxury of a cold war between the forces of Western Liberalism and Islamism and it got us a missing block in Manhattan on a seemingly perfect Tuesday morning.

Yet, we are barely closer to winning the war against Islamism because of the useful idiots in the West who wish to undermine the necessary effort. They have allied themselves with the women-enslaving, gay-butchering, Armaggedon desiring, theocratic Islamists for reasons that defy the rational mind. Their hatred and guilt for the nations that have given them everything, the end of their political power focused into an anti-Bush fury, and their fear of the Islamists has led them to decide "an enemy of my enemy is my friend" even as that enemy stands against everything they claim to, and will not hesitate to eliminate them after they've exhausted their usefulness.

As they've undermined the operations in Iraq and elsewhere, we're faced with a nuclear Iran, a state that simply cannot exist if we desire peace in the world. We have media and NGOs that ally with the Islamists in their propaganda war. We have people who side with Nazi incarnates against the "Zionists" who desire to eliminate the predecessors of the previous Great Evil.

They desire to see America defeated in the Middle East out of personal political interests and hatred for that which they owe their gratitude. If it'll get the Republicans and their counterparts out of office, if it'll bring America down a notch or five, they'll gladly accept a nuclear exchange in the Middle East, nuclear and biological detonations in the West, and an Islamist Europe.

Can we consider these people our friends or our enemies? Do we have the will to end the Islamist threat like we found for the Nazi's and Fascists of the 30's? Will we accept total war, will we be willing to die like our enemies? The West is at a key turning point, if we continue our policy of not killing the enemy to save our figurative lives, while they give their literal lives to kill us, we will not win the war.

We erred in the 1930s when we thought Hitler was Europe's problem and Tojo was Asia's problem. Like then we're being placated by phony cease-fire's, concessions and copulations.

9/11 was supposed to change it all. The West was supposed to band together and crush another threat against Western Liberalism. Instead half the West responded after Afghanistan with "That was it right? We're done and can go back to 9/10?" Even after Madrid, London, Bali, Beslan, France, Denmark and Theo van Gogh and attempts in Berlin, Britian, India and elsewhere much of the West keeps asking when is it just going to be over.

This is the Western defeatest culture. Built on guilt of the past, instead of the promise of the future. We aren't working for victory, we're asking when we can go back to 9/10. We have the might, the means, the moral standing, the mission, but we do not have the will. If we cannot find it, then 9/11 will not be a "tragedy" or an "attack" but the day when Western Civilization and Liberalism, and not merely four planes, began their final descents.

George W. Bush wrote:Our enemies have made the mistake that America’s enemies always make. They saw liberty and thought they saw weakness. And now, they see defeat.

This is a day that I will never, ever forget. It is a day that has changed my life forever. I was young and at the time the impact of what happened, the scale of it all, never really sank in right away. However, because of that day and because of what happened I have decided to fight back. As most of you know I will be enlisting in the Army sometime in the next few years. The footage of that day and the soundbites of the bodies thumping against the ground after they have jumped from the 90th floor haunt me. They drive me crazy and they make me fiery mad. This day has put a lot of anger in me and because of that day I am a much more hateful person. It's probably something that shouldn't have happened. I shouldn't hate but I do.

There has been a lot of debate, too much debate, about the War on Terror and the War in Iraq. The debate is about whether or not the wars are justified and if they are worth fighting. In fact, there are people on here who insist that our troops are not fighting for us and that they are not protecting the American people or values overseas right now. As laughable and ignorant as that sounds it is the thought process of many Americans. The terror and the shock has rubbed off and they have moved on...similar to Jae's response. It's a response that frustrates me and angers me.

I was hoping that this day would be remembered more often that it is. This seems like the only day that we think about it. This day directly effected the entire world. My buisness teacher told me today that she was in Africa this past summer when that bomb scare on those airplanes happened. All the people in Africa came up to her and told her where they were when they found out about 9/11. Isn't that amazing? People in Africa vividly remember where they were when it happened. Here we are in America and some people don't give a rats ass anymore.

Anyways, that was completely off topic. I obviously mourn for all the loved ones who lost someone on that tragic day. I am especially proud of the rescue heroes who literally ran straight into the face of danger with most of them never coming back. Those people are what we call heroes. Those are the everyday guys who went out and did amazing things. They do amazing things everyday. We owe them a lot and I notice a lot of people bitch and moan about the police and how they are such bad people. We should really learn to appreciate the fire fighters and police officers more than we do. Everyday they put their life on the line to save and protect us. We don't really think about them that often but they really do.

I'm going to post a few pictures from 9/11 that I feel are important and describe the events of that day. RIP VICTIMS OF 9/11...THOSE WHO ARE RESPONSIBLE WILL BE FOUND.

It seems like a long time.......however since i was 9 years old and in 4th grade the teacher refused to turn on the TV or give any information about what went on and I had to wait until i got home to find out. :|

Many people in other schools around my area (and around my age), had the TV on and many left school early, due to the fact that we have a local nuclear power plant called Three Mile Island (TMI) which was a possible risk to be hit.

Yeah, it was hella weird. I was in 6th Grade, and my Mom got food poisoning on the same day. I really didn't know how serious it was until a few days afterwards.

Also, I got home from school to watch TV and every single TV channel had CBS Coverage or so. It was insane.

Judging by the response of the War on Terror and the War in Iraq I can tell people have forgotten already. Plus, I rarely ever hear 9/11 references like you do. Maybe I should watch more TV.

Do you live anywhere near New York?

Where I am, we have signs, bumper stickers, car magnets, ads, etc. all the time in rememberance. Again, we were the ones most effected, but to say we've forgotten is rather rude, when unless you're from here, you can't really understand the magnitude of what happened. I was in the Bronx on 9/11, I breathed in the air from the result of the attack -- so don't tell people they've forgotten, due to "the response of the War on Terror and the War in Iraq" -- this isn't some political debate -- let's show some respect and not turn it into one.

There was a movie about the 9/11 attacks. It's called "The Path to 9/11." Half of the four hour movie really makes you hate and blame the government, but once they show this scene with George Bush talking to the kids, you really want to kill this idiot of a president. But all this hate goes away when they show this little scene of the five terroist getting up out of their seats on the airplane, put on red scarves with a little knife in their hands, and head to the cock-pit in slo-mo.
