June 30th, 2003, New York City, NY
"Hi to everyone, I'm Joe Cunnighman. This month, in the world of sports; Michael Schumacher wins his 6th World Driver's Championship; Sammy Sosa hits his 500th home-run; the Marlins are World Champions; Jim Furyk wins the US Open; Tim Duncan is crowned Finals MVP as the Spurs win are the 2003 World Champions; David Robinson retires; the Celtics hire new GM Johnny Vallerand."
One the same day, Boston, MS
Wyc Grousbeck: As the Boston Celtics' owner, I am proud to introduce our new General Manager, Johnny Vallerand.
JV: Thanks Wyc. I am proud to be at the reign of the most storied basketball frnacise in the whole world. *cheers* Boston, I swear that within this decade, the Larry o'Brien Trophy will be back!*cheers* There was the Celtics of the 60's, the Celtics of the 80's, and now, ladies and gentleman, get ready for the Celtics of the 3rd millenium! *cheers*
Wyc: It's now time for the question period.
ESPN: What is to be expected in the summer in Boston.
JV: Well, I sure can't name anyone, but I'm not very happy with the core we got right now. I'll make sure to bring additionnal depth.
ESPN: Are we gonna see Jermaine O'neal in a green uniform next year?
JV: I'd like to, but it's not likely. Even though the FA market is pretty impressive this summer, rare are the players that will change teams.
TSN: Do you plan on keeping Toine and Pierce together on the long-run?
JV: Absolutely not.
ESPN: Which one is on his way out?
JV: I can't tell you who's ging away, but I sure can tell you I'd prefer having Paul starring the 2.
NBA TV: What kind of players would you like to get?
JV: I'm looking to get a shooter at the point, someone that can be effective without the ball in his hand, just waiting to shoot the rainbow. At the 2, I'd like to have a big-time scorer that can still defend. For the 3 spot, I'd like to get a rebounder that will bang inside. At the power forward, I'd like to get a shooter, someone that can play the perimeter, yet still play inside. In the middle I wish to have a big-time rebounder and shot blocker. Of course, I can't give out names.
Wyc: I think that's all for today from GM Johnny V. *clap clap clap*
September 18th, 2003, Toronto, ON, Canada
Hello everyone, I'm Rick Kamla from Raptors NBA TV, and I'm your host for today. My guest today is... Boston Celtics' GM Johnny V.
JV: Hail Rick!
RK: Hey Johnny! You'Ve been, let's say it, the busiest GM off the off-season.
JV: Well, I was given a roster I did not craft, I had to... put things together into one I'd like.
RK: So, the first thing you did was sending your second star Antoine Walker to New York in a four-team deal. You also sent Kedrick Brown and Kendrick Perkins to New York, Tony Battie to Portland, who also got off-guard Shandon Anderson, and Mark Blount to Indiana, who also got Keith Van Horn, to get Kurt Thomas, Damon Stoudamire, Al Harrington, Zach Randolph and Jeff Foster.
JV: I knew New York were interested in getting a real star. I also knew Indiana wanted to get aplayer more suited to the 4 than Harrington, in case Jermaine walked away. And, last but not least, I knew the Blazers were unwilling to play either Wells or Derek Anderson at the 2. Therefor, I created that perfect trade: New York got the star they wanted, without changeing too much their style of play (Toine being a similar player to KVH). Portland got the shooting guard they wanted, plus a bigger back-up than Randolph. Indiana also got a good center, and a potential 4. I personnaly got my shotblocker in KT, my workhorse rebounder in Al, and my point in Damon. I also got a talented back-up center in Foster, and a project in Randolph.
RK: I still don't see the point for Indiana. Keith Van Horn is not a a better 4 than Baby Al, and his contract is ridiculous!
JV: But they were unwilling to get Baby Al abused by the TD's and the KG's. At least, KVH can abuse them as much by spreading the floor.
RK: From that point of view... You then traded Eric Williams to Seattle for Antonio Daniels. With their signing of Smush Parker, AD was being redundant.
JV: Exactly. And Eric Williams was not suited to the 2, which was something I was missing.
RK: Then, you grabbed Troy Murphy from Golden State, completing your starting 5, while sending Tony Delk and Jumaine Jones in California. You also took Pepe Sanchez' contract, as you waived him shortly after.
JV: Exactly.
RK: Around the league, Washington's Larry Hughes was traded for Darius Miles.
JV: Well, I'll say the same thing everyone is saying; LeBron is simply not a point.
RK: Now on the Free Agent side; how come you couldn't snap a high profile FA?
JV: First, with Vinnie taking almost a third of our cap room, and with most high profile players staying in their own towns, the market was quickly over.
RK: Well, thank you Johnny V., that is all the time we had.

Celtics' 1st game: the Hornets are in town
1st quarter: 20-19 C's
After very difficult time on Offense, Damon Stoudamire, who was the sole scorer on our side (4 of the team's 6 points, other two on a put back by Harrington), got 2 quick fouls, the second while diving for a loose ball, causing him to be replaced by Mike James. That seemed to give the Celtics additionnal hustle. On the next play, Al Harrington will block a shot from David Wesley, kock a pass away, then take it back by outrunning Baron Davis for it, and putting it in for 2. On Boston'S next possession, Paul Pierce will take it coast-to-coast, ankle breaking Baron Davis, then converting a reverse lay-up while getting banged by Jamal Mashburn. Paul Pierce was not in his usual shape though, scoring only 5 points on 1-6 shooting, and 3 from the stripe.
2nd: 39-38 C's
Nothing to say, really. In the first 40 seconds of play, before the back-ups entered into the game, Pierce jammed down on Magloire, than shot a 3 over Wesley, telling Coach he was ready to score. Other than that, Mashburn seemed to have bruised his left arm. He's still playable though.
3rd: 64-57 C's
Pierce was simply unstoppable in the 3rd. He shot from the corner, from the stripe, he dunked, he shot threes, he even completed a 180 alley-oop on a pass from Stoudamire. Damon was, also, good to see in that quarter, as on 3 consecutive play, he managed to shoot a 20 footer to get 2 points for the Celts.
End: 87-82 C's
During the quarter, youngsters were allowed to play: Marcus Banks, Antonio Daniels and Zach Randolph were all given significant minutes to get experience.
At the end, with half a minute left to play, the Celtics up 82-78, Darell Armstrong stole the ball from Kurt Thomas to go lay 2 points at the other end.
82-80: Paul Pierce takes the ball up-court, trying to score to put hte game out of reach. He is soon double-teamed, dishing to ball to a wide-open Damon Stoudamire, who scores a 3 from the corner.
85-80: Robert Traylor puts back a shot from Davis.
Then, with 0.9 seconds to go, David Welsey fouls Damon Stoudamire after the inbound. Damon, of course, makes both free throws, and the final score of it is 87-82.
Celtics' next game: vs New Jersey, in Boston
Key numbers:
NOH:
Baron Davis: 25 pts on 11-13 shooting, with 4 assists
David Welsey: 22 points, with 3 assists,
Jamal Magloire: 3-7-0, with 3 blocks
BOS:
Paul Pierce: 25 points on 9-16 shooting
Damon Stoudamire (POTG) : 16-6-3, with a steal
Kurt Thomas: 13 and 9
Zach Randolph: 7 rebounds in 10 minutes
Wed Aug 02, 2006 3:34 pm
Nice win

I like that you have Antonio Daniels on your team.
Are you using this season's rosters? Can we see your lineup?
Mon Aug 21, 2006 2:43 am
Sorry for the delay, had problems with comp, but now the dynasty is up and running again.
I played the New Jersey game before the crash, took notes, but can't find them... but I won!
@Tuomas: Thank you! AD might not be here for long though, I'd like to have a real 2 off the bench... but maybe it will be Mike James that will be leaving.
And no; I'm using the 04 line-ups.
So my line-up is:
C: Kurt Thomas (66)
PF: Troy Murphy (64)
SF: Al Harrington (66)
SG: Paul Pierce (87)
PG: Damon Stoudamire (63)
PF: Walter McCarty (60)
SG: Antonio Daniels (56)
PF: Zach Randolph (57)
PG: Mike James (59)
PG: Marcus Banks (55)
C: Jeff Foster (51)
PF: Vin Baker (52)
PG: Mateen Cleaves (42)
SF: Brandon Hunter (37)
The 2-0 Celtics face the 3-2 Pacers
Pacers' starting 5:
C: Scot Pollard
PF: Jermaine O'neal
SF: Keith Van Horn
SG: Ron Artest
PG: Jamal Tinsley
1st Q: 29-18 Pacers (Geez it's been a long time)
Completely pathetic quarter by Boston. They couldn't structure an offense, neither a D. Their head wasn't in the game.
2nd: 39-39 (Getting into the game)
Not C's domination, but just a slight edge to them. AD played the whole second at the 2, Pierce did not see a single minute of the floor.
3rd: 66-60 C's
Pierce, who did not score in the 1st, nor played in the 2nd, scored 16 in the 3rd to help the Celtics take the lead. Reggie Miller could not handle it, as Artest sat most of the quarter.
Final:
With 23.7 left to go, Keith Van Horn scores to put the Pacers up by a single point. Paul Pierce than takes the ball up-court, then fakes Ron Artest, and shoot a wide open shot from 8 feet... which he MISSES! Tinsley is then sent to the line with 10.1 left.
He misses both, it's rebounded by Jermaine O'neal, who tries to put it back, but is blocked by Troy Murphy. Stoudamire will try a prayer shot from behind half-court, which won't change a lot...
Pacers win it 88-87
Double digit scorers: Keith Van Horn (21), Ron Artest (18), Jermaine O'neal (14) and Reggie Miller (13) for the Pacers; Paul Pierce (18), Al Harrington (17), Antonio Daniels (12) and Troy Murphy for the Celtics.
6+ rebounds: Jermaine O'neal (8), Mark Blount (6) and Scot Pollard (6) for Indiana; Kurt Thomas (7) and Damon Stoudamire (6) for Boston.
Multiple Blocks: Scot Pollard (3) for Indiana; Troy Murphy (2), Kurt Thomas (2) and Jeff Foster (2) for Boston.
Multiple Steals: Ron Artest (2) and Jamal Tinsley (2) for Indiana; Damon Stoudamire (2) for Boston
4+ Assists: Jamal Tinsley (5) and Anthony Johnson (4) for Indiana
Next Game is against Chicago, in Boston

Chicago vs Boston
1st: 22-19 Chicago
Nothing to say really. Been a pretty average game for both. Lots of running. Pierce has been driving a lot. Stoudamire has 8 points so far.
2nd: 40-38 Boston
Gordan Giricek torched the D for 10 easy scores, and Jeff Foster got 9 boards in 4 minutes. Stoudamire also got his right armed bruised, but it's nothing important.
3rd: 65-59 Chicago
The lack of a floor general killed us, and the incredible play of Eddie Robinson, who seemed to always be at the right spot at the right time.
4th: 90-86 Chicago
No clutch finish, no anything... really, a poor 4th quarter
Key numbers:
Boston:
Giricek: 17 points in 10 minutes
Troy Murphy: 10-10-3-1-2
Jeff Foster: 10 boards and 3 assists in 10 mins
Chicago
Jamal Crawford: 14 points and 6 assists
Eddie Robinson: 9 points on 4-4, and a block and a steal, in 9 minutes
Tyson Chandler: 6-10 with 4 blocks in 20 minutes

Johnny V. trading again!
Yes, Boston's GM Johnny Vallerand made yet another trade, which was held back due to league rules. "It should have had happenned this summer," said Johnny.
In the transaction, Boston sent forwards Troy Murphy and Zach Randolph, in addition to rookie guard Marcus Banks, to Sacramento for veteran center Vlade Divac and forward Gerald Wallace.
"I like Vlade, and I sincerely prefer having a 5 over 6'9 [...] Gerald Wallace is also young and will be able to give us a big time defender, plus an exciting finisher for years to come."
With the acquisiton, three days ago, of off-guard Gordan Giricek, and the subsequent move of Antonio Daniels to the 2nd point guard, Marcus Banks was redundant. Murphy and Randolph were belived to have been acquired only for that trades' completion.
Today's game: the NY Knicks face the Boston Celtics. Antoine Walker, Kendrick Perkins, Kedrick Brown and Kurt Thomas will all play their former franchise, as two Atlantic teams face off in the Rose Garden this evening.
1st: 23-18 NY
Vlade Divac was worthy on defense, and helped Kurt to be comfortable playing the 4. Vlade (4), Pierce (7) and Damon (7) were the only ones to score though.
2nd: 50-49 Celtics
Gerald Wallace was plain CRAZY. he scored 11 points, he blocked, he stole, he passed, he rebounded, he played shut down D on Toine, and he threw down an incredible jam.
3rd: 77-76 Knicks
Vlade Divac is really an incredible player to have. Stoudamire is starting to have a me-first attitude (only a single assist so far in the game). Allan Houston is really getting hot, as he is 7-9 from the field, for 19 points.
4th: 108-104 Celtics
Collecting their 3rd win, the Celtics showed a lot of great things; Stoudamire being able to draw fouls, and sink important J; Pierce returning to his big time scoring self; Thomas and Harrington showing good offensive skills; Divac becoming a real good asset to the green team; Gerald Wallace is a beast, on both sides.
Key numbers:
Pierce: 29 points on 13-18 scoring
Stoudamire: went to the line 9 times on 6 shots (16 points)
Wallace: 15 on 7-8 shotin in 15 minutes with 2 assists
Thomas: 3 blocks, 4 steals
Divac: 4 blocks
Mutombo: 3-5-1-4-2
Walker: 17 points
Eisley: 20 points in 16 mins
Ward: 16 points
Houston: 23 points
Next Game is at Orlando, vs. Tracy McGrady
I'll leave you on this cliché from the New York game.
Tue Aug 22, 2006 1:18 am
pretty cool dynasty, i used to play 2003. nice win, mcgrady will kill u
Tue Aug 22, 2006 4:57 am
Probably... He's actually like 2nd scorer in the league, and top MVP candidate. I'm looking forward to play against frmer Celtics Mike James. And thanks for posting
Fri Aug 25, 2006 2:59 am
Sweet Dynasty...I'm glad you're still playing! 2004 although having flaws is probably still my favorite...Keep up the Dynasty!
Sun Aug 27, 2006 1:55 am
Thanks man!! Orlando game should come today!
Wed Aug 30, 2006 9:54 pm
Ok guys, I,m not dead! Tomorrow, I'll be back with a massive update! College started, and the rare days when I'm not at school, I work! But tomorrow, I'm free from noon to noon on Friday! I'll be back!:) Sorry for the inconveniance.
Sat Sep 02, 2006 12:52 pm
Okay, i'm (again) late, but it'll be worth it!
Boston vs Orlando
Game plan: Not let T-Mac score his 30, and the game is ours if we play well. Try to pound the ball down low on Offense, as they got no inside stopper.
1st: 21-16 Orlando
Vlade was asked to bang a lot, but he did a bit too much, as he got into foul trouble after 3 minutes of play. It gave Coach Johnny V. the opportunity to go small and use Walter McCarty at the C, causing incredible match-up problems, which turned out good. T-Mac was also held scoreless.
2nd: 44-43 Orlando
Grant Hill tried to bang on Vlade... Couldn't get up after. McGrady was held to a total of 5 points so far, but former Celtics Mike James has 13-4-3, all team highs. Harrington has 10 points so far, and Stoudamire has 4 assists.
3rd: 64-56 Boston
Hill got back into the game, and Vlade got into foul trouble once again. The Celtics will then use a small line-up (Stoudamire, P2, Wallace, Harrington and Thomas). Kurt did some incredible job at his natural 5, with 8 points on 4-6, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks. James got 17 points while McGrady is still at 9.
Final: 87-84 Boston
Boston wins it despite Mike James getting 30 points, 8 boards and 5 dimes against his former teammates. James' great play, though, is shadowed by T-Mac's 9 points in the whole game.
Milwaukee vs Boston
Gameplan: Go through Kurt vs Tim a lot, not let Redd get easy shots off. Play inside out if they double.
1st: 24-21 Boston
Pierce got 7 points, Harrington got 8, Stoudamire got 5 points and 3 steals. No particular assassin on their side, with Redd, Mason and Thomas all leading with 4 points. I'll have to make sure though that none of their shooter (Redd, Jones, Kukoc and Strickland) gets any open sight.
2nd: 51-48 Milwaukee
Redd and Thomas both got into rhythm, gettin 11 apiece so far. The tempo went up, and when the Celtics realised they couldn't keep up, they went small, and Milwaukee went inside with very little resistance.
3rd: 76-70 Boston
The Celtics are simply playing out of their minds. Harrington and Peirce are scoring at will. Thomas is getting control of any miss. Vlade Divac is being the center of our defense, swatting any kind of shots away. Damon Stoudamire, in addition to scoring a lot, is thieving as much. The Bucks are no much in this quarter, the score won't ever tell it near as close as it was.
4th: 102-97 Boston
Really, only the stats will tell. Despite a slump at the beginning of the crucial 4th (hitting only 5 of the first 16 post shots), the Celtics overcame their woes and won the game!
Starters' Stats:
PG: Stoudamire (20 pts, 5 assists, 6 steals) > Ford (13 pts, 9 assists)
SG: Pierce (25 points) > Redd (16 points)
SF: Harrington (19 points) > Mason (6-5-3)
PF: T. Thomas (31 points, 6 rebounds, 1 block and 2 steals) > K. Thomas (10-8 with 2)
C: Vlade (4-10 with 7 blocks) > Skinner (4-7 with 3 blocks)
6th man: Strickland (13 points in 11) > Foster (6-6-1 in 6 minutes)
Bench Scoring: Milwaukee (27) > Boston (24)
PICTURES:
Vlade swatted 7 shots in the Bucks' game.
Damon Stoudamire
T-Mac celebrates
OWNAGE!
Is he...?
Gerald... ATTACK!!!!
The Trade Checker:
This part is to see which player is florishing in his new jersey.
Important Acquisitions:
Shandon Anderson, Portland:
Portland's new off-guard is far from as good as first thought, as he scores a low 10.7 per on a 45% shooting.
Lary Hughes, Cleveland:
Cleveland's new point guard's not very impresive statistically: he scores 10.7 per, gets 3.4 dimes, and steals 1.4 balls per. But what really makes his acquisition a good move is that first, it allows James to play his natural 3, and second, his defense against the point is proving valuable for the Cavs.
Jumaine Jones, Golden State:
Jones proved to be a pretty impressive player for the Warriors, scoring 10.7 and getting 7 boards per while coming off the bench behind Dunleavy and Richardson. Jumaine is now giving the Warriors solid bench play.
Darius Miles, Washington:
He came into the league and was supposedly a do-it-all athlete, and he is, to an extend doing exactly everything for the Wizards: his 5-cat line of 7.3-9.5-3.5-1.2-1.4 is proving he can do it all, except scoring. He, in fact, can score, he's jsut not asked to do it.
Troy Murphy, Sacramento:
Not impressive numbers, but he is playing in a reserve role to two all-stars in Miller and Webber. He still manage to score 8.6, to get 6.8 boards and 1.2 blocks in less than 15 per.
Zach Randolph, Sacramento:
After times in Boston, he's now in Sacramento, and serving as an excellent limited use back-up; while playing behind Thomas, Murphy and McCarty in Boston, and now Webber, Miller and Murphy in Saco, Randolph still manage to score 7.2 on 57%, and to get 4 boards in only 9 minutes per.
Keith Van Horn, Indiana:
He was acquired in case Jermaine left, but it was Brad Miller that did: KVH is scoring 15.1 from both forward spots, in addition to opening up the driving lanes. His 5.6 boards per are a very low point though.
Antoine Walker, New York:
Toine is playing good under a new system, with new players, and back at his natural 3. The big point is he's not asked to score 25 a game. Walker is shooting 54.5% from the floor for 16.4 points per, while getting 5.6 boards and dising out 3.5 dimes. He's also opening up the middle for McDyess, who is averaging 17-10 this season, and the wing for Houston, who gets 23.5 per.

Francis to be traded, among others
5th December, 2003 - 5:13 pm
NYtimes.com - Houston star point guard Steve Francis is said to be looking out.
Francis started 10 games for the NBA's Houston Rockets (6-4) this season, averaging 17.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, 5.0 assists ans 1.9 steals per game. His shooting percentages, though, are horrific, as he shoots 36.3% from the field, 15.4% from beyond and even 76.1% from the stripe.
A Western Conference scout told us that Houston coach Jeff Van Gundy was unpleased with his point guard's play. In fact, Franchise seemed to feel threatened by sophomore superstar Yao Ming, causing Francis, a point guard, to hog the ball as much as he could.
While all Rockets' officials denies the rumors, a second scout told us that a few places where Francis would be welcomed where Golden State, Detroit, New York and Los Angeles (not the Lakers).
Badly, none of these teams got enough interesting pieces to give to Houston by themselves, which will probably cause the addition of a third, an maybe fourth team. Teams to be probably included in the deal are the Cleveland Cavaliers (with Ricky Davis' unability to play alongside James), the Hawks (with a deep will to shake the roster a bit), the Grizzlies (who are always willing to get deeper), the Kings (who'ld like to send out a few of their 7 under contracts natural 4 (that's half oh their team!)) and the Raptors (who are probably looking for a back-up to Alvin Williams to help MVP leading candidate Vince Carter).
I also simmed the following 3 games.
vs. Memphis: 104-76 win
vs. Denver: 100-96 win
vs. Utah: 107-91 win
Next Game is vs. Raptors
Mon Sep 11, 2006 3:55 am
The Francis Deal
Everybody's excited; an immense roster shake-up is supposedly on its way! Houston shall get rid of Stevey, and nobody knows where he's headed.
Four teams are said to be looking to get Franchise, and 5 others are rumored to be wanting to get included in the trade. Let's see a team-by-team analysis.
Main Team:
The Houston Rockets (6-4)
Right now starting 5: Francis, Mobley, J. Jackson, Griffin, Yao
Possibly included:
Francis (17.7 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 5.0 apg, 1.9 spg, 36.3FG%, 15.4 3F%): Steve Francis is in a bad pass; he's a top 5 guard in the league, but he's unable to play beside promising superstar Yao Ming. Teams interested include Golden State, Detroit, New York and Los Angeles.
Cuttino Mobley (15ppg): Three point specialist is also probably headed somewhere else, as he is probably the most tradeable part of the team (after Francis and Yao). Teams interested include Detroit, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Cleveland and Toronto.
Francis suitors:
The Golden State Warriors (5-5)
Right now starting 5: Van Exel, Richardson, J. Jones, C. Robinson, Dampier
Why they want Francis: Van Exel is not exactly a long term star, and Jason Richardson is not developping as fast as they would've wanted. Francis is a star they could use, and whose youth will help down the road.
Possible pieces:
Jason Richardson (16.3ppg, 2.6apg): Young future superstar is gonna get Golden State a lot of phone rings. Teams interested include Houston, New York, Memphis and Sacramento.
Nick Van Exel (19.1ppg, 4.9 apg): Former All-Star is still a upper layer point guard with range. Teams interested include New York, Cleveland and Toronto.
Mike Dunleavy Jr. (7.6ppg, 1.7 apg): Now in a reserve role, Dunleavy's stats are not really saying anything about his play. He's a 6-9 swingman whose size and range are real help to any team. Teams interested include Los Angeles, Toronto and Atlanta.
Cliff Robinson (13.6-4.4-3.5-1.1-1.3): Veteran sharpshooting big man is gonna be looked to by a lot of teams in this thing, i can promess. Teams interested include New York, Los Angeles, Sacramento and Toronto.
The Detroit Pistons (4-6)
Right now starting 5: Billups, Hamilton, Williamson, Milicic, Wallace
Why they want Francis: Francis would be a pretty impressive addition to the deep franchise without depleting the rest of the line-up. The only thing making Detroit unsure is the Yao case; Milicic is also a young big who'll need help in the future.
Possible pieces:
Ben Wallace (7.4ppg, 11.3rpg, 2.1bpg, 1.1spg): Reigning DPOY is probably gonna be a hot consideration if ever Detroit decide to go for Francis. Teams interested include Golden State, New York, LA, Memphis, Sacramento and Toronto.
Chauncey Billups (16.1ppg, 4.1apg): Journeyman combo guard is probably gonna be traded once again, but now he's known as a very capable shooter, and a good playmaker. Teams interested include Houston, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Cleveland and Toronto.
Rip Hamilton (17.8ppg, 3.2apg): Detroit's leading scorer is also gonna be a hot commodity, thanks to his scoring average and is off the ball skills. Teams interested include Golden State, Houston, Los Angeles, Memphis and Sacramento.
The New York Knicks (6-6):
Right now starting 5: Ward, Houston, Walker, McDyess, Mutombo
Why they want Francis: The team is aging, and Isiah Thomas is looking to get a high-octane guard to sell a bit more tickets.
Possible pieces:
Antoine Walker (17.2-5.7-3.6): Proved to be a precious player in a third option role. Teams interested include Golden State, Los Angeles, Cleveland and Sacramento.
Antonio McDyess (14.8-9.6-2.2-1.3-1.8): Former All-Star's 5-cat line is proving he can still produce. Teams interested include Toronto, Atlanta and Detroit.
Mike Sweetney (2.2-1.9): Rookie power forward is playing real good, and showing signs. He's playing behind Walker, McDyess and Weatherspoon though, and that's what's hurting his numbers. Teams interested includes Houston, Atlanta, Memphis and Toronto.
Clarence Weatherspoon (4.1-3.8): Veteran big is playing pretty good behind 3 former all-stars in the front court. Teams interested include Golden State and Atlanta.
The Los Angeles Clippers (2-8):
Right Now Starting 5: Jaric, Magette, Q. Richardson, Brand, Kaman
Why they want Francis: To shake the roster up a bit. The perimeter play is awful, but the inside game is pleasing.
Possible pieces:
Elton Brand (19.9-9.5-2.1-1.5-1.0): All-star's forward's line is pretty eye-popping, and he's one of multiple players who will probably be traded. Brand's high-value will get the Clippers a few good players. Teams interested include Golden State, Detroit, Atlanta and Sacramento.
Marko Jaric (13ppg, 4apg, 1.9spg, 34.6FG%): Sophomore point guard is not working well in LA, but the 6-7 Serbian is gonna be called a lot, I'm pretty sure. Teams interested include Houston, Golden State, Atlanta, Memphis and Toronto.
Corey Maggette (14.9ppg, 7.1rpg, 39.2FG%): High-scoring athletic swingman is in a bad-shooting streak, and the Clippers cannot take it. It's a buy-low situation for any taker. Teams interested include Houston, Detroit, New York, Atlanta and Sacramento.
Quentin Richardson (10.4ppg, 6.6rpg, 32.7FG%): Like the two before, Richardson is in a shooting slump, which is quite limiting is game. Teams interested include Houston, Atlanta, Cleveland and Toronto.
Other teams:
The Atlanta Hawks (6-7):
Right now starting 5: Terry, S. Jackson, Diaw, Abdur-Rahim, Ratliff
Why they want to be included: They want to shake the roster a bit. They want to finally get SAR to the post-season.
Possible pieces:
Jason Terry (22.2ppg, 5.2apg, 1.6spg): High-scoring point is also a young and decent defender. His shooting range and his ability to man the point will draw interest. Teams interested include Toronto, Cleveland, Memphis, New York and Los Angeles.
Stephen Jackson (13.2ppg, 1.8 spg, 33FG%, 25.7 3F%): Normally shooting good, Jackson's slump is hurting his game. Teams interested include Houston, Toronto, Cleveland, Memphis, Los Angeles and Golden State.
Theo Ratliff (10.6ppg, 8.4rpg, 2.1bpg): Young big man with an imposing presence on Defense. Perfect for coming off the bench behind a good duo of bigs. Teams interested include Detroit, Cleveland, Memphis and Toronto.
The Cleveland Cavaliers (7-7):
Right Now Starting 5: Hughes, L. James, Davis, Boozer, Ilgauskas
Why they want to be included: Ricky Davis' style is the same as James', and he's therefore taking room into James' growth.
Possible Pieces:
Ricky Davis (18.6ppg, 4.2apg): See above. Teams interested include Golden State, New York, Atlanta and Sacramento.
The Memphis Grizzlies (5-4):
Right Now Starting 5: J. Williams, Posey, M. Miller, Wright, Gasol
Why they want to be included: Jerry West is not affraid to pull off a trade, and now seems to be a perfect time to, with a lot of guys having off-times so far.
Possible Pieces:
Shane Battier (6.6ppg): The Perfect Teammate will probably help this team better by getting traded. He's starting to develop, and his off the bench role does not seem to suit his skills perfectly. Teams interested include Golden State, Detroit, Los Angeles, Cleveland and Toronto.
Stromile Swift (7.9ppg): Most Grizzlies executive seems to have a problem with Swift, and he seems to have a huge one with coming off the bench. Interested teams include Toronto, Atlanta, Los Angeles and Golden State.
Lorenzen Wright (10.7ppg, 8.6rpg): It's a sell-high, don't miss opportunity for Jerry West. He'll get a lot of calls for a young, promising, center-eligible stud. Teams interested include Golden State, Detroit, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Toronto.
Earl Watson (3.8ppg): Defensive specialist point guard is also a don't miss, as Troy Bell is probably the long term answer to back-up Jason Williams. Teams interested include Toronto, Sacramento, Houston, Atlanta, Los Angeles and Detroit.
The Sacramento Kings (7-2):
Right Now Starting 5: Bibby, Christie, Stojakovic, Webber, B. Miller
Why they want to be included: The trade with Boston loaded their roster of 4s, and gave them a pretty impressive back-up guard, making a few people expensible.
Possible Pieces:
Chris Webber (25.1-9.9-4.4-1.1-1.9): Incredible 5-cat line is probably what's giving the Kings Ws, but they'll have to part ways if they want to get something in return. Teams interested are Golden State and Detroit.
Doug Christie (7.2ppg, 1.9spg): Defensive stopper is probably being shipped out too, for an upgrade on the wings. Teams interested include Houston, Detroit, New York, Cleveland and Memphis.
Bobby Jackson (9.8ppg): High-octane, microwave 6th man was made expensible with the Boston trade. Teams interested include Golden State, Los Angeles and Atlanta.
The Toronto Raptors (3-10):
Right Now Starting 5: A. Williams, Peterson, Carter, J. Williams, A. Davis
Why they want to be included: VC's MVPish season is giving him the right to ask for better teammates, plus they don'T have a single back-up at the point.
Possible Pieces:
Antonio Davis (17.1ppg, 9rpg, 1.2bpg): Former all-star center is gonnab e looked to by a lot of team wantign to get a good big. Teams interested include Godlen State, Los Angeles, New York and Atlanta.
Jerome Moiso (2.5ppg, 2.8rpg): Promising rebounding machine is still a back-up, but will not be for long. Teams interested include Detroit, Houston, New York and Atlanta.

Raptors vs. Boston
My Plan on O: Go straight at their point guard, for Williams has no back-up.
My Plan on D: Be rough on Vince, and keep him away from the post.
1st: 21-17 C's
Vlade had 8-5 with a block and he's proving explosive. He also put Davis into Foul Trouble. Vince was forced to settle for the long J, and Alvin Williams played the whole 1st.
2nd: 44-36 C's
Vlade has 12-9 with 3, while Pierce missed almost everything he shot, getting only 2 so far. Vince has been kept quiet, with only 6 points (his season average is over 25). Alvin Williams has yet to take a breather.
3rd: 65-64 C's
Alvin Williams (who still played the whole thing) and MoPete rallied a run from the Raps to get within one before the final Q. Damon and Vlade are proving amazing at both ends. Vlade even nailed a 3. Vlade has 14-12, with 5 boocks, and Damon got 12 points with 3 steals.
Final: 92-87 C's
While MoPete almost stole the show, the Celtics were still able to get the win. Incredible play from Vlade and Damon kept Pierce's subperformance shadowed.
Vlade was POTG with 16 points, 14 boards and 7 blocks.
Around the league:
Joe Dumars, Pistons' GM, denied their will to get Stevey Franchise. "Yes, we'd like to get a few players, but Francis is not part of them".
Rob Babcock, Raptors' GM, got a huge three way made official, in which Toronto acquired Jason Terry, Boris Diaw, and Theo Ratliff from Atlanta and Lorenzen Wright and Earl Watson from Memphis, Atlanta got Jerome Williams and Antonio Davis from Toronto, and Dahntay Jones from Memphis, and Memphis got Alvin Williams, Michael Bradley and Jerome Moiso from Toronto.
DC's after the trade are then the following:
Atlanta:
PG: Brandon/Dickau/Vaughn
SG: Jackson/Jones/Glover
SF: Abdur-Rahim/Nailon
PF: J. Williams/Henderson
C: Davis/Mohammed
Memphis:
PG: J. Williams/A. Williams/
SG: Posey/Dickerson/Person
SF: Miller/Battier
PF: Swift/Outlaw/Bradley
C: Gasol/Moiso
Toronto:
PG: Terry/Watson
SG: Peterson/Curry/Diaw
SF: Carter/Murray/Jeffries
PF: Ratliff/Bosh
C: Wright/Bagteer
The move is said to be moving Toronto and Atlanta out of the Francis deal.

8 teams, 16 players, 5 deals
Without any kind of logical reason, a new trading session started in the NBA. After the ATL/MEM/TOR trade yesterday, today where announced two importants three team deals, and 3 two-way ones: one of them including the Warriors, Cavaliers and Grizzlies, the second between the Warriors, Pistons and Rockets, the third between New York and Houston, a fourth between Sacramento and Los Angeles, and the final between the Cavs and Kings.
- Cleveland sent Ricky Davis to Golden State, Golden State sent Nick Van Exel to Cleveland and Mike Dunleavy to Memphis, and Memphis sent Shane Battier to Cleveland.
- Golden State sent Jason Richardson to Houston, Houston sent Maurice Taylor and Cuttino Mobley to Detroit, Detroit sent Mehmet Okur and Richard Hamilton to Golden State.
- New York sent Maciej Lampe to Houston for Eric Piatowski.
- Sacramento sent Bobby Jackson to Los Angeles for Quentin Richardson and Marko Jaric
- Cleveland sent Jason Kapono to Sacramento for Tony Massenburg.
Which gives us DC's of:
Cleveland:
PG: Van Exel/Bremer/Wagner
SG: L. James/Hughes
SF: Battier/Newble
PF: Boozer/Massenburg
C: Ilgauskas/Mihm/Diop
They got rid of Ricky Davis, who was taking touches away from LeBron. They also got an experienced PG with a clutch outside shot, a lot more depth, and LeBron's perfect teammate in Shane Battier.
Grade: A
Golden State:
PG: Delk/Claxton/A. Johnson
SG: Hamilton/Cheany/Pietrus
SF: R. Davis/J. Jones
PF: C. Robinson/Okur
C: Dampier/Foyle
They got a pretty interesting duo in Rip and Ricky. Added an effective 3 big man also, but they add to give up their future all-star. Good thing is Ricky will sell as many tickets.
Grade: B+
Memphis:
PG: J. Williams/A. Williams
SG: Posey/Dickerson/Person
SF: Miller/Dunleavy Jr.
PF: Swift/Outlaw/Bradley
C: Gasol/Moiso
Got ripped off in the Toronto/Atlanta deal, and in the Cleveland/Golden State deal. Gave a good back-up to Pau, and that's pretty much it.
Grade: D
Houston:
PG: Francis/Norris
SG: Richardson/A. Griffin
SF: J. Jackson/Nachbar
PF: E. Griffin/Lampe
C: Yao/Cato/McCoy
Got a very interesting young duo with J-Rich and Yao Ming, and the Francis deal did not even kick in.
Grade: B+
New York:
PG: Ward/Eisley
SG: Houston/Piatowski
SF: Walker/K. Brown
PF: McDyess/Weatherspoon/Sweetney/O. Harrington
C: Mutombo/Perkins
Got a pretty minor, but helping deal out of it: Piatowski can fill the void left behind veteran Allan Houston when he takes a breather, as they are both long-range shooter with very few other skills.
Grade: B
Detroit:
PG: Billups/Hunter/Atkins
SG: Mobley/Sura
SF: Williams/Prince
PF: Milicic/Taylor
C: Wallace/Campbell/Rebraca
Got a better shooter in Mobley, but with not as good creation skills as Rip. It's a very risky move, as it all depends on Billups becoming an efficient playmaker (or Darko, who was supposedly a Webber-ish playmaker in Europe).
Grade: B (Can't help but like the idea of Billups becoming a John Stockton-ish point)
Sacramento:
PG: Bibby/Jaric
SG: Christie/Peeler
SF: Stojakovic/Q. Richardson/Kapono
PF: Webber/Murphy/Funderburke
C: B. Miller/Randolph
Got quite interesting value for Bobby if Q-Rich and Marko can turn back to their usual shape.
Grade: B+
Los Angeles:
PG: B. Jackson/House/Dooling
SG: Maggette
SF: Simmons/Fowlkes
PF: Brand/Wilcox
C: Kaman/Drobnjak/Ely
Paid quite a lot for a pass-second point, but at their point, they can't get worse.
Grade: C

You did this all by yourself (the trade)? Wow.
What's your record?
Sat Sep 23, 2006 10:45 pm
@H Rock: Yes I did it all by myself. I find computers boring if you do not help them a bit. I think it adds a special little spice. And I'm...
Dec 13th, 2003: The 9-2 Celtics face the 7-7 Cavaliers
It is Cleveland' first game since the Davis for Van Exel and Battier and the Kapono for Massenburg trades. Let's see of these guys will do together.
1st: 20-16 C's
Despite a suffocating Zone D by the Cavs, and a very shitty showing by both Pierce and Vlade, the C's still managed to outscore their opponents. Thomas managed to get 4-5, and Damon nailed a three at the buzzer.
2nd: 49-43 Cavs
Very good games for Battier and Van Exel. LeBron is also showing signs that he might be the next scoring machine to enter the NBA. Gerald Wallace blocked 3 shots, 2 dunks by James and a jumper by Nick. He's showing signs. I don'T think Al is gonna be a Celtics next year.
3rd: 69-69
The score is tied while entering the last quarter. Gerald Wallace, in addition to collecting his fourth block (and he's still without a Foul), completed a 360-windmill dunk on the break after he shook Larry Hughes to the ground, which was plain crazy. He's gonna be taking Harrington's place for the final quarter.
Final:
With 25.1 left, Boozer tries a dunk over Divac to give his team a 6 points edge, and therefore an unsurmountable lead, but he misses it as Gerald Wallace blocks it. Wallace then jumps on the ball, gives it up to Mighty Mouse. Mouse fakes left, fakes right, crosses Big Z and then James, and finally hit a lay-up over Boozer.
With the score of it at 94-92 for the Cavs with 17.0 left, the Celtics have to foul. In what seemed to be a miracle, the pass goes into Ilgauskas' hands, who is fouled by Stoudamire before he noticed it.
He makes the first. Oh god... might not be as good as planned... And he makes the second. With 13.4 left, the C's are still 4 points behind. They call a timeout, and Coach calls a play for Damon. Everything goes as planned. Mouse comes off a pick from Vlade, gets the inbound pass from Gerald, crosses left, and launch a dagger 3. SWISHHHHHHHHHH!
The Cavs still lead by one though. With 8.0 left, the score is 96-95. Nick is fouled. He goes to the line for 2. The first shot goes up... it bounce, bounce, bounce... and falls in! If he makes the other... Better not even thinking about it.
But he does make it. A perfect rainbow. The Celtics are down 3 with 5.5 left. They need a 3. Deperately. Pierce is not really in shape today, shot something like 4-15. Giricek and Al did not even nail their mid-range, and choked at shooting 3s today. Mighty Mouse is going to the ball for the inbound. A timeout is called. The Celtics' get Walter McCarty in for the possible game-tying shot.
Mighty Mouse passes it to Walter McCarty, at his familiar corner. McCarty is guarded by Van Exel. Nothing easier. He fakes right, then jumps. Just as everytime he shoots, he extend his arm, whips his wrist, and the shot goes up for a ranbow... Walter, though, would never be a hero, for he missed that shot. The shot bounced on the rim, to the backboard, and to the rim again, but it bounced away from the hoop. And with the ball, any hope of winning that game.
Final Score: 98-95
Stats:
Battier: 12 pts, 2 assists
Boozer: 8-5-1 with a block
Ilgauskas: 10-7 with 4 blocks
James: 22 pts, 1 assist
Van Exel (POTG) : 22-5-7 with only 1 TO
Newble: 9 points and a block in 8 minutes
Divac: 12 pts, 5 blocks, 2 boards
Harrington: 8-5-2
Stoudamire: 22-1-2-0-4 on 10-15
Thomas: 16-8-1-1-1 on 7-8
Wallace: 12-1-0-4-2 in 13 minutes
Pierce: 11-2-0-0-0 on 5-17
Next Games:
Dec. 17th: Vs Dallas: Boston is gonna be playing one of the top teams in the league at home.
Dec. 21st: Vs Philadelphia: Pierce vs Iverson. A now epic rivalty.
Dec 23rd: @ Atlanta: How will the Hawks do with their new additions? Will AD and JYD be of real help?
Dec 26th: @ Phoenix: Starbury, the Matrix and STAT are gona be waiting for the C's
Dec 28th: @ Lakers: The Celtics against their Arch-Rival, league-best Lakers. How will Pierce, Divac and Stoudamire play against the Mailman, the Glove, Shaq and Kobe
Dec 29th: @ Golden State: How are Rip and Rick gonna be playing together?
Other Dates to Circle:
Jan 20th: @ Miami : Is Miami's 9-2 record a fluke, or are they really the best of the east?
Feb 4th: vs Clippers : Can Bobby Jackson lead a team fulltime? Who is backing up Maggette? Is Chris Kaman gonna keep up his 14-9?
Feb 17th: @ Sacramento: On MJ's B-day, Vlade Divac, Gerald Wallace, Troy Murphy, Marcus Banks and Zach Randolph are all gonna face their former teams. Sacramento is also one of the deepest and most talented team in the league.
MArch 31st: vs Portland: Damon Stoudamire is gonna face the team that let him go this summer on the last game of the NBA calendar.

The Mavs are in Boston!
1st: 21-20 C's
After trailing by as much as 11 points (they got WAY too much weapons on O for us to defend), and with Al, Kurt and Pierce each out with 2 fouls, Wallace, Walter and Gordan entered the game and helped the team a whole lot. Stoudamire had 8 points, 2 threes, and 6-9 Kurt blocked two impressive shot by 7-footer Nowitzki.
2nd: 48-45 Mavs
Paul Pierce had 2 points in the half. Steve Nash had 13 and Dirk 15. Hopefully for us, reserves Walter McCarty and Gerald Wallace had 11 and 15, respectively, on very impressive play. At the end of the second quarter, with Pierce at the 2, Wallace at the 3 and McCarty at the 4, Pierce only got one shot, and we can understand why; it was a wide-open 17 footer that he missed.
3rd: 65-65
Starting with a line-up of Divac, Thomas, McCarty, Wallace and Stoudamire, we were hoping to give Dallas a few problems. It worked pretty averagedly, and until Thomas had his 4th foul. On that time, Pierce came in. He looked sharp, scoring on 3 straight possessions, and then disappeared. Walter, again, took over, and brought his stats to 19-8.
Final:
PS: Vlade injured his arm while making contact with Dirk. Doctor said he would not return for this game, and that he might even make a trip to the IR.
With the score 84-83 for the Mavs, Raef is isolated in the corner with the ball, guarded by Kurt. Then, Giricek comes over and steal the ball from him, and calls a timeout.
Pierce is cold. Wallace is not an excellent shooter. Damon is guarded by someone who's 5 inches taller. Walter missed the game-winner in Cleveland... Who will shoot the game winner? We have to think about the fact that we need a two, and that there is 4.5 seconds left...
Might Mouse is in for the inbound. Pierce is under the basket, Walter in the corner, Gerald at the stripe, and Kurt at the other corner. Mighty Mouse decide to give it up to Pierce inside, and... THE BALL IS STOLEN BY JAMISON!
Final Score: 84-83
Important Stats:
Divac: 4 pts (on 2-6), 6 rbds, 3 blk in 19 mins
Giricek: 7 pts (on 1-3) in 8 mins
Harrington: 2-2-1 on 9 mins
McCarty: 21 pts (on 9-14), 9 rbds in 21 mins
Pierce: 14 pts (on 6-14), 2 blk in 18 mins
Stoudamire: 14 pts (on 5-9), 3 steals in 18 mins
Thomas: 0-7-3-3-2 in 16 mins
Wallace: 17 pts (on 6-12), 2 threes in 19 mins
Nash: 17 pts (on 7-16), 8 ast, 2 stl in 20 mins
Finley: 15 pts (on 5-12), 3 ast, 2 stl in 22 mins
Jamison: 19 pts (on 9-17), 4 stl in 20 mins
Nowitzki: 18 pts (on 7-10), 6 rbds in 22 mins
LaFrentz: 3 points (on 1-1), 6 rbds, 4 blk in 19 mins
Vlade's return will probably be vs. the Sixers on the 21st (i.e. next game).
Rumors:
Corey Maggette is said to be on San Antonio's radar. After a 5-9 record at the half of the season, San Antonio would like to add a high profile scorer to take pressure off Duncan. Manu Ginobili and Malik Rose were said to be in San Antonio's offer, but the Spurs would like to acquire a back-up lead guard also.
Kenny Thomas and Eric Snow are said to be Houston bound. The Sixers would acquire Jim Jackson and Eddie Griffin for their two players. The Rockets are said to be looking for Steve Francis to go before pulling the trigger on that trade.
I was tired of having Pierce, who is supposedly a 20+ ppg guy, averaging about 15 ppg in games I play. So I decided to shake my roster a bit.
Paul Pierce, Al Harrington, Marcus Camby traded!
Boston's new GM, Johnny Vallerand, decided that Pierce's career in Boston was over when he traded his perennial All-Star to Phoenix.
Paul Pierce, who learned the news when Vallerand called him after the Dallas game, was traded along with Vin Baker and his enormous contract, for defensive stopper Shawn Marion, shooter Dermarr Johnson and rookie Zarko Cabarkapa.
The day after that, Johnny V made official a three way trade in which Al Harrington was sent to Detroit, with Minnesota's Troy Hudson, Corliss Williamson and Jeff Foster were sent to Minnesota, and Chauncey Billups and Ervin Johnson were sent to Boston.
The same day, Nuggets' GM Kiki Vandeweghe also traded his center, Marcus Camby, to San Antonio for Big Shot Rob. Both are veteran with playoff, even Finals experience (Camby went to the Finals against the Spurs in 2000, when he was a Knick, and Robert Horry has 5 rings). Horry will bring pretty excellent shooting to the Nuggets, and Camby will take pressure off superstar and reigning MVP Tim Duncan.
