My 4 year knicks dynasty recap

Postby elitethatsme on Mon Sep 11, 2006 4:31 am

Wasup everyone, im a new poster and its pointless to start a new dynasty now since 07 is about to drop but here is a quick recap of what i did with my 06 knicks dynasty.

sliders are andrews with some adjustments to make it a little harder

Year one recap: (05-06)

Stephon Marbury flurished under larry brown. Point blank period. Steph took home MVP honors as well as all-star game MVP for the first time in his career and ALSO won defensive player of the year averaging over 4 steals per game. Channing frye also took home rookie of the year and Trevor ariza won the slam dunk contest. Q Rich took the 3 point shoot out.. man this was basically the year of the knicks.. untill the finals :(

Playoffs:
The knicks breezed through the first 3 rounds of the playoffs to meet the phoenix suns in the finals... Steve nash was simply unstoppable as marbury learned a very valuable lesson in this allstar matchup. "He had the will to win" Marbury said, "every time they needed a big basket, he knocked one down, i can only take my hat off to that man and come back next year with a new sense of determination". The knicks went on to loose to the suns in 6 games, but next year would be different.

06-07 recap
Stephon was back with a vengence taking allstar mvp and regular season mvp once again raising his assist total to 12 assist per game while slightly decreasing his scoring output, focusing on developing Eddy Curry who has now become a FSS POWER player. "Eddy really came on this year," according to starbury. "last year it was mostly the backcourt doing all the scoring with me and jamal, but now we dump it down low and its almost a given, eddy is scoring or going to the line." The knicks would win their first championship this year easily defeating the Denver Nuggets in 5 games. Stephon would take home Finals MVP and look forward to a repeat. *Nate Robinson also won 6th man award as he continued his fine play off the bench

(now here i was offered control of the New Orleans Hornets, so i saved one version where i accepted and went on to win a championship with them the next year after signing dwane wade during the off season lol and i saved one where i stayed with my knicks)

07/08

Eddy Curry reached new heights this year as stephon officially took a back seat to "baby shaq". Curry took home the MVP this year and led NY to its second straight championship, defeating the Spurs in 5 games.
"Ginobli really gave us problems" coach brown said. "but when we brought Ariza off the bench, his long arms really helped slow him down, i think that was a key for us in this series".
Curry averaged 34ppg and 12rpg in the finals leading them to victory.

So now im on my 4th year with the knicks... prolly wont finish but my goal is to get nate a high flyer.. he is 4 dunk points away!!!... sorry my writeups were a little sloppy i will do a much better job next year with 07 but i just wanted to give u guys a little recap of what i did in 06.

here is my current lineup, i managed to get rid of all NY's crappy players for expiring contracts (deals like Jerome James for Juwan Howard who expired) and next year we have Channing, nate, lee and stephon all coming off the books so i will have big decisions to make!...... if i make it that far

Curry - 79 FSS Power
Frye - 74
Q Rich - 79 FSS Shooter
JCraw - 83 Fss OS Scorer, Shooter, PM (94 fg!!!)
Steph - 86 FSS PM, OS SCr
Nate - 79
Ariza - 74 (steal 93!)
Lee - 67 (avg 6rpg off the bench)
C K. Adetoun - 68 Sophmore player very good defensive center used sparingly
SF S. Hunt 66 Rookie player with a nice 3point shot but no handle
pg s. fortsen 63 sohpmore typical third string PG
SG J. Ninimea 69 3rd year player, Ny fans not happy with him as he is wideley concidered a bust. Could be traded soon!

Last night i got blown out by the Warriors, well i made a comback at the end... but god DAMN the combo of JRich and BDavis was a problem!!!! they are both rated 90 and Jamal/Steph was really havin probs with them... Also Pietres was getting a tun of boards... Curry was a beast 32/12(as usual) but Frye had an off game... Jamal also didnt play well but nate picked up some slack with 20 off the bench... i tried to come back in the 4th but it was too little to late... so now i am 2-1 in the early going of my 4th Season!
